wow that’s funny, I don’t live too far from where this took place. the local news station was showing how the media that travels with Obama get’s off the bus before he does, and i saw this old guy, and i said “hey! that old guy looks like Dan Rather!” lol…now i see that old dude was him….sad….he really does look older since the last time i saw him on tv.

The only thing I watch HDnet for is Enterprise and when they live broadcast the shuttle night launch. I tried watching Rather one time, just for isht and giggles. Made it ten minutes and had to turn it off.

Mr. Obama, In your judgment as a potential leader, what would be the appropriate size force required to protect our "diplomatic forces" in Iraq. In the interest of keeping things in context for you, I'll look to 2005 troop levels for easier reference points. You mentioned France. We have 58 Marines there protecting our diplomatic corps from the cheese eating surrender monkeys. Is this perhaps the size force you think we should have in Iraq? You pointed to England. We have about 10,000 in uniform there, ready to defend our diplomats there from our greatest ally and plum pudding. Is this closer to the mark for the size force you think we should have there? You spoke of South Korea. We have just under 30,000 troops in S. Korea ready to take additional “police actions” against any North Korean aggression. Does that number work shape up for ya? Our vanquished enemies turned Western allies, Germany and Japan, play host to approximately 35,000 and 65,000 US troops, respectively. Nice round numbers, eh? Our other "hot" war has about 20,000 troops. Should we safe guard in Iraq like we do in Afghanistan? That pesky other notable Baathist dictatorship, Syria: They’ve got less than 20 Marines holding their own in enemy territory. This bite size force fit your gob? We could even look to the “lost” cause of Vietnam. We’ve got 15 or so hanging out in Hanoi right now just waiting to do their duty in case anyone of our old enemy suddenly gets it in their head to thrust a bayonet through the man package of a fallen ambassador. Are these enough anchor points to choose from? If so, then I ask again: what is your judgment on appropriate Iraqi troop levels, sir? Heck, I’d take a guess-timation. It took me five minutes to write and research this. So, please, when you answer, take time to put your answers in context using whatever numbers you like. Thank you for taking my question.
