As for the video, Kamen is like the other great inventors. You have to have a whole lot of failures to get the occasional successes. This one may be Kamen’s light bulb.

Nah….if you’re halfway close to retirement age, you may see 50 cents on the dollar! OTOH, if you’re like me, nearly 20 years away….let’s just say that my retirement savings are based on nada from the good ol’ SS office.

This is one of the coolest applications of mechanical tech I’ve ever seen that WASN’T fictional. Science Fiction as we know it dreams this stuff up for a faraway future, but we have to have more Kamen’s out there who KNOW we have the brainpower to beat the writers visions by a few centuries. Screw the talk of “Skynet” and “we shouldn’t have people in situations to lose arms in the first place”…That’s the bulls**t of Loservision. The only way this country as ever gotten ahead was when it stopped looking behind, except for reference material, and started thinking ahead.

heh, I received my Social Security Statement this weekend. First it was cool too see my earnings over the last 20 years (I’ve been working since I was 15). Then it was sad to realise that I have contributed $150,000 to Social Security and will probably never see 1 cent of of it.

This is AWESOME! I can see it now–BlueTooth appendages for amputees! Just have this microchip implanted in an amputee’s brain, attach the Luke arm (or leg, assuming he’s working on one of those), and their life will be back to as close to normal as is possible.
