Heart-ache: Coveted hip-hop superdelegate flips from Hillary to Obama

posted at 4:05 pm on March 31, 2008 by Allahpundit
Send to a Friend | printer-friendly

All part of a trend, my friends, as Hillary’s chances creep ever closer to zero.

As goes Fitty, so goes the nation:

“I heard Obama speak,” he said. “He hit me with that he-just-got-done-watching-’Malcolm X,’ and I swear to God, I’m like, ‘Yo, Obama!’

“I’m Obama to the end now, baby!”

The musician also admitted he’s lost interest in the protracted Democratic race, and may not support either candidate.

“To be honest, I haven’t been following that anymore. I lost my interest,” he said. “I listened to some of the debates and things that they were saying, and I just got lost in everything that was going on…Don’t look for my vote, for me to determine nothing on that. Just say, ‘50 Cent, he don’t know, so don’t ask Fiddy.’

Duly noted. Meanwhile — good lord, sir. If a man can shoot the rock, surely he should be able to roll it. Exit question: How soon before Hillary starts floating the idea to the superdelegates that the real metric for a nominee should be whether they can bowl a 50?

Did he hit ANY pins?

ThackerAgency on March 31, 2008 at 4:10 PM

At least my average is a respectable 150. Does that qualify me to be CinC?

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on March 31, 2008 at 4:10 PM

I thought the ’superdelegates’ were all long-time political pros and party stalwarts. How did this clown get in there? I can’t see him supporting the ol’ white ho anyway…

GeneSmith on March 31, 2008 at 4:11 PM

Yobama.

Yo.

And, what of Flava Flav?

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, Boooooooooooooooooooooooy.

OhEssYouCowboys on March 31, 2008 at 4:12 PM

Why is it that, every day, there’s another nail in America’s coffin?

OhEssYouCowboys on March 31, 2008 at 4:13 PM

I thought 50 was a Bush fan, you know, because W is gangsta.

I guess his support doesn’t transfer to Maverick.

forest on March 31, 2008 at 4:13 PM

I have a feeling that 37-gate just might cost him the increasingly valuable “Big Lebowski” vote.

SteakRules on March 31, 2008 at 4:14 PM

Hate to go off-topic, but the Dutch will prosecute Geert Wilders over Fitna.

amerpundit on March 31, 2008 at 4:10 PM

Prosecute him on what grounds?

Oh darn, Hillary lost the idiot/criminal/unintelligible/rapper vote. This primary season is over…

Darksean on March 31, 2008 at 4:17 PM

Don’t look for my vote, for me to determine nothing on that. Just say, ‘50 Cent, he don’t know, so don’t ask Fiddy.’

Just like that Obama Girl and a lot of other Hollywood type big mouths, he won’t even bother to vote.

real metric for a nominee should be whether they can bowl a 50?

Will the Obama campaign ban gutter jokes?

Brat on March 31, 2008 at 4:18 PM

Wow, that bowling exhibition reminded me of Lerch Kerry attempting to catch a football… I don’t think athletics is a strong suit for Liberal politicians.

Keemo on March 31, 2008 at 4:18 PM

what a stiff.

thebrokenchair on March 31, 2008 at 4:20 PM

is he even eligible to vote? Felon right?

jp on March 31, 2008 at 4:20 PM

Maybe fity can add a “God Damn America” remix to “Up in the Club”.

THE CHOSEN ONE on March 31, 2008 at 4:23 PM

Did they not have the bumper guards? My 5-year old bowled a 53 his first time out.

KelliD on March 31, 2008 at 4:23 PM

You have to admit, he does seem like a likable guy.

billy on March 31, 2008 at 4:24 PM

You have to admit, he does seem like a likable guy.

billy on March 31, 2008 at 4:24 PM

Hard to tell. Is it all an act? This is the same guy who sat through twenty years of Rev. God Damn America’s sermons about how white people are responsible for the world’s problems.

amerpundit on March 31, 2008 at 4:26 PM

I have a feeling that 37-gate just might cost him the increasingly valuable “Big Lebowski” vote.

SteakRules on March 31, 2008 at 4:14 PM

Obama, overheard at a campaign stop:

“God damn you Rather! You fuckin’ asshole! Everything’s a fuckin’ travesty with you, man! And what was all that shit about Vietnam? What the FUCK, has anything got to do with Vietnam? What the fuck are you talking about?”

Niko on March 31, 2008 at 4:28 PM

Hah! Obama can’t bowl. Yet another lefty running for president. Strange.

“Those are some nice bowling shoes.”

I think it was said here, but Obama really talks like crap when he isn’t reading a speech. That’s like a shitty line you would use if you’re on an awkward date.

jimmy the notable on March 31, 2008 at 4:29 PM

convicted felons can’t vote…

max1 on March 31, 2008 at 4:29 PM

He bowled a 37? Dude, that’s weak. You know Fiddy ain’t got no respect for that, yo.

someguy on March 31, 2008 at 4:29 PM

There’s a really great video about Bush, “The Baseball President” up at Mlb.com. Its fun to contrast his perfect strike first ball in the World Series with Obama’s gutterball.

jimmy the notable on March 31, 2008 at 4:31 PM

The “dude” abides…

saltydogg14 on March 31, 2008 at 4:34 PM

Obama was just holding back. Had he wanted to, he could have allowed his aura to make those pins faint before him.
And good to hear Fiddy is still keeping it real…. real clueless. Much love dog. Much love.

Sugar Land on March 31, 2008 at 4:36 PM

You have to admit, he does seem like a likable guy.

billy on March 31, 2008 at 4:24 PM

Wouldn’t be much of a politician if he wasn’t engaging. All the presidents are likable (LBJ the exception).

right2bright on March 31, 2008 at 4:37 PM

Hard to tell. Is it all an act?
amerpundit on March 31, 2008 at 4:26 PM

Maybe. Maybe not.
Public perception is the important thing though, and, like it or not, many people base their votes on those perceptions.
No matter what the truth is, he comes across on television as a very personable guy.

billy on March 31, 2008 at 4:40 PM

Isn’t there a bowling alley in the white house? Perhaps he’s hoping that he’ll get better with four years of practice.

cthulhu on March 31, 2008 at 4:40 PM

Heh, is Fitty a superdelegate?

Ken McCracken on March 31, 2008 at 4:43 PM

We had a blind kid on our bowling team back in 8th grade that could bowl better than Obama. I threw a game a couple of weeks ago with five splits, and I still beat the Messiah by a 100 pins.

Last Tuesday, I had to pick up a 3-10, 3-7, and 4-6-10 to throw a clean 200 game. We won’t mention the two games that preceded that game though.

There is just no excuse for an adult to throw a 37. none.

rw on March 31, 2008 at 4:43 PM

One more thing. This also reminds me of the time on King of the Hill when hank shook the president’s hand, and he was a weak shaker. I personally don’t believe the president is a weak shaker, but after watching Obama bowl, he might be.

jimmy the notable on March 31, 2008 at 4:44 PM

KelliD on March 31, 2008 at 4:23 PM

tlynch001 on March 31, 2008 at 4:49 PM

I’m like yo Obama!
Fiddy cracks me up XD Good thing I know who to vote for now!!?!11

Yobama. hahaha

drift on March 31, 2008 at 4:50 PM

You mean there’s any blacks left not voting for YObama?

Big John on March 31, 2008 at 4:55 PM

Like no kidding! It’s the same as when Russell Simmons switched to Obama. Tell me race has nothing to do with it!
Besides, who cares what 50 cents or whatever his name is, say? Like he is so political.

Conservatives R Us on March 31, 2008 at 4:56 PM

Except, I mean, convicted felons…

Big John on March 31, 2008 at 4:56 PM

Wow… he bowls like a pussy.

MT on March 31, 2008 at 5:03 PM

He hit me with that he-just-got-done-watching-’Malcolm X,’

Both Rev. Imam Wright and ObamaX are on record quoting Malcom X. (”Chickens coming home to roost…”)

Does anyone care that Obama wants to bring this country (this “Empire” in his mind) to its knees?

Red Pill on March 31, 2008 at 5:24 PM

Is there a list anywhere that names all of the superdelegates? I’d like to know exactly who is on it, and how they were chosen to be “super”. And is 50 cent really a superdelegate??!??

StephC on March 31, 2008 at 5:32 PM

RAAAAAACIST!

NTWR on March 31, 2008 at 5:39 PM

Meanwhile, to go by this XXL interview, Obama still has obstacles to obtaining the coveted DMX endorsement:

Are you following the presidential race?
Not at all.

You’re not? You know there’s a Black guy running, Barack Obama and then there’s Hillary Clinton.
His name is Barack?!

Barack Obama, yeah.
Barack?!

Barack.
What the [gently caress] is a Barack?! Barack Obama. Where he from, Africa?

Yeah, his dad is from Kenya.
Barack Obama?

Yeah.
What the [gently caress]?! That ain’t no [gently caressin]’ name, yo. That ain’t that [fellow]’s name. You can’t be serious. Barack Obama. Get the [gently caress] outta here.

You’re telling me you haven’t heard about him before.
I ain’t really paying much attention.

I mean, it’s pretty big if a Black…
Wow, Barack! The [fellow]’s name is Barack. Barack? [Fellow] named Barack Obama. What the [gently caress], man?! Is he serious? That ain’t his [gently caressin]’ name. Ima tell this [fellow] when I see him, “Stop that [sillyness]. Stop that [sillyness]” [laughs] “That ain’t your [gently caressin]’ name.” Your momma ain’t name you no damn Barack.

So you’re not following the race. You can’t vote right?
Nope.

(The reaction of hip-hop fans to DMX’s political savvy is something along the lines of, “Um. Wow. Step away from the drugs, man.”)

(Also: “He can’t vote? Thank God.”)

Well-Armed Lamb on March 31, 2008 at 5:39 PM

Are you guys insane? 50 is not a superdelegate.

You mean there’s any blacks left not voting for YObama?

Big John on March 31, 2008 at 4:56 PM

Setting aside the filth of your comment, I never understood why people find it so shocking that free American citizens would vote for the candidate perceived as best representing their interests.

Between Hillary, McCain and Obama who do you think best represetns the interests of the average black American?

12thman on March 31, 2008 at 5:45 PM

He bowls as good as he would govern. Me thinks that if elected, the Carter years will look like nirvana.

jukin on March 31, 2008 at 5:48 PM

That question should read “who do you think is perceived by the average black American as representing their interest?”

12thman on March 31, 2008 at 5:50 PM

I bet he’s more into that Zimbabwe elections. Who won btw?

Aristotle on March 31, 2008 at 5:53 PM

12thman on March 31, 2008 at 5:45 PM

Well, from a historical standpoint, that would be the Republican candidate. And Obama is nowhere near an average black American let alone an average American living in a million dollar home with a wife making $325,000 per year.

NTWR on March 31, 2008 at 6:03 PM

YOBAMA Haa haa. He’s a ‘yo and he’s Obama. Perfect!

Keemo on March 31, 2008 at 4:18 PM

Bowling athletic?!?! Bwahahaha!

Foosball is more physical. If I see someone sweating while bowling, I will likely call the paramedics.

Bball is a sport wherein Obama is supposed to have some skills. I haven’t seen any ankle breaking crossovers, but he looks at home on the court.

Well, speaking as a black American (a really stupid label), out of those three lame choices, it would be McCain by default. My parents didn’t teach me nor my brother anything other than personal responsibility.I was not taught to embrace the baggage that Barry is trying to assign to everyone. I was not taught that I am doomed to be a step behind b/c of my skin color, and I won’t ever pretend that I was.

God forbid it, but Obama’s job as president will be to represent the entire country, not just the 1/2 of him he chooses to embrace.

Dubn8tr on March 31, 2008 at 6:25 PM

NTWR on March 31, 2008 at 6:03 PM

Of course, this didn’t answer my question at all.

Well, speaking as a black American (a really stupid label), out of those three lame choices, it would be McCain by default.

Dubn8tr on March 31, 2008 at 6:25 PM

Listen, I am a black American (a less stupid lable than Big John’s “blacks”, to which I was replying, because at least it indicates reference to a human being) who will most likely vote for McCain too. But, just like with NTWR, you didn’t answer the quesetion I asked.

People act like its some kind of surprising and disgusting fact that a high percentage of black Americans are voting for Obama. I find nothing at all shocking about it.

Carve out any group of people and the majority of them will vote for the candidate they perceive serves their best interest.

Is it any shock that a large majority of black people would perceive Obama to be their best choice out of the three remaining? (especially considering some of the comments made bill President Clinton throughout the campaign?)

12thman on March 31, 2008 at 6:45 PM

God forbid it, but Obama’s job as president will be to represent the entire country, not just the 1/2 of him he chooses to embrace.

Dubn8tr on March 31, 2008 at 6:25 PM

Forgot to add that, of course, any POTUS’s job is to represent the entire country. But when people vote the vote based on what they believe is the most important thing to focus on, not on what the entire nation in agregate believes is most important.

12thman on March 31, 2008 at 6:49 PM

My, my, doesn’t Barack know that bowling is a ‘white, lower and middle class’ pastime? Besides, brilliant intellectuals always get gutter balls when they try to bowl with the locals.

Christine on March 31, 2008 at 6:51 PM

He didn’t miss, the ball fainted.
