FORT KENT, Maine — It’s official. The 2007-08 snow season in northern Maine is one for the record books. Just in time for the start of spring.

The old record of 181.1 inches of snow recorded in Caribou, set in 1955, was shattered by noontime Friday when the National Weather Service in Caribou recorded 182.5 inches of snow since the start of the season.

It didn’t stop there.

Heavy snow and winds gusting up to 50 mph continued throughout the day, creating blizzard conditions around much of northern Maine and causing numerous vehicle accidents and headaches for municipalities already overextended with snow removal budgets.

Former vice president Al Gore will launch a three-year, $300 million campaign Wednesday aimed at mobilizing Americans to push for aggressive reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, a move that ranks as one of the most ambitious and costly public advocacy campaigns in U.S. history.

The Alliance for Climate Protection’s “we” campaign will employ online organizing and television advertisements on shows ranging from “American Idol” to “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” It highlights the extent to which Americans’ growing awareness of global warming has yet to translate into national policy changes, Gore said in an hour-long phone interview last week. He said the campaign, which Gore is helping to fund, was undertaken in large part because of his fear that U.S. lawmakers are unwilling to curb the human-generated emissions linked to climate change.

“This climate crisis is so interwoven with habits and patterns that are so entrenched, the elected officials in both parties are going to be timid about enacting the bold changes that are needed until there is a change in the public’s sense of urgency in addressing this crisis,” Gore said. “I’ve tried everything else I know to try. The way to solve this crisis is to change the way the public thinks about it.”

Umm, do you think McCain, who’s clearly trying to tap into the Green Scene, would really draw voters against The Goracle?

(both attributions are equally accurate…but people still believe this cow manure!)

This does concern me.

Gore tried in 2000 and lost (barely) and the Green Scene has grown enormously since then.

But, all is not lost… I am now free to watch the 35th rerun of “Global Warming, how Conservatives have DOOMED us ALL”. I never get tired of that.

If write-in candidates are allowed, I’m sure Al Gore got at least a dozen votes across the country.

Seriously all, I have GOT to stop reading this while drinking coffee. I keep having to clean the monitor and the keyboard after failed attempts to swallow and howl with laughter.

Democratic voters who campaigned, financed, and voted for Hillary and/or Obama in the primairies are told to vote for Gore in the General Election……… and then vote for McCain in protest…….

Will they be liable for prosecution?

The plot thickens.

They lose in exurbs and suburbs where middle class, mostly white people live. Identity Politics only makes those divisions stronger. Since Dems pursue “punishing” policies against White middle class people on: crime, home ownership, gun ownership. affirmative action, trade, immigration.

Gore is just the natural expression of Apple Computer Yuppiedom of the Democratic Party. They don’t have the pickup truck candidates who could win the middle class demo.

That would be a boon for McCain. The three of them could be the worst the democrats could have put up in a hundred years. It would be worse that Jack Kemp bailing out on Dole in 96.

And people wonder how the Democrats lost in both 2000 and 2004 to Bush.

Because in both elections, the “objective” mainstream media was totally in the tank for the Democrat party. Especially in 2004, where Newsweak’s Evan Thomas admitted before the campaign had even started that his media colleagues would add 10 to 15 points to Kerry’s poll numbers. That they did.

This thing has the potential for being far worse than 1968.

Only if Bubba Billy winds up bring the one to light the fuse, and odds are, he will be.

A Gore-driven strategy to steal the election without the inconvenience of lawyers– or campaigning?

The nominee will probably be Obama. I don’t think Hillary has given up her dream for Prez. If it’s Obama, and McCain wins, watch for Hillary to run again and tell the Dems that they wouldn’t have lost the election if only they’d nominated her.

Maybe the Dhimmis will rethink their objections to McCain’s “100 years’ war”. /s
