There’s something about an 81-year-old veteran and the phrase “And then I kicked him in the teeth” that’s simply magical. Click the image to watch.

Bravo for the Veteran!! The punk got off light.

DAT60A3 on March 29, 2008 at 6:05 PM

15 or 16 year old kid wanted to play the mans game…and lost!

Sanjoboy on March 29, 2008 at 6:08 PM

Awesome indeed: one in the balls and one in the teeth!

Tzetzes on March 29, 2008 at 6:09 PM

That is AWESOME!!! Thanks for that! It made my day.

Major Nuisance on March 29, 2008 at 6:10 PM

These kind of stories always warm my heart.

Too bad men like this gentleman are getting harder to find.

Iron_Chef on March 29, 2008 at 6:11 PM

“50 years ago, that would’ve never happened”.

I’ll bet. 50 years ago he would’ve taken that punk’s knife and inserted it where the sun don’t shine. 80 years old and kicked that asshole in the teeth! Men like him are why we won the war.

BacaDog on March 29, 2008 at 6:14 PM

One to the nuts to take down and one to the teeth to stay down . Kinetic poetry.

My hat is doffed sir.

BL@KBIRD on March 29, 2008 at 6:14 PM

That guy is awesome!

WisCon on March 29, 2008 at 6:16 PM

Totally awesome!

Where can I send money to make a bust of SSGT Clouston? I want a visual reminder for this punk so he can think about the ass-beating he received.

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on March 29, 2008 at 6:18 PM

And let that be a lesson kiddies..

When an octogenarian tells you he’s gonna kick your a**… BELIEVE HIM.

UncleOlaf on March 29, 2008 at 6:18 PM

Before too many weep the lack of this gentlemans sort in todays population, I’d point to any number of solid souls wearing the uniform of many western armed forces this very moment.

BL@KBIRD on March 29, 2008 at 6:18 PM

Awesome indeed: one in the balls and one in the teeth!

Tzetzes on March 29, 2008 at 6:09 PM

Best part…..he picks up his groceries and keeps on walking. I think my grandfathers (a WWII vet and a Korea vet) would have done the same thing.

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on March 29, 2008 at 6:19 PM

Ha! Good! I hope the slimebag lost some teeth.

tx2654 on March 29, 2008 at 6:19 PM

He-he-he,

Loved it.

conservnut on March 29, 2008 at 6:19 PM

Not only is this guy awesome, but he’s from near San Francisco – hey northern Californians – take a look at a real man.

AnotherRightWingConspirator on March 29, 2008 at 6:20 PM

I think the vet was saying that 50 yrs ago you would be safe of the streets. He’s right, too. This guy came up during the depression and as much as kids needed money they didn’t rob old men at knife point.

thatcher on March 29, 2008 at 6:21 PM

That teenage punk needs to lose a few more teeth where he’s going. They don’t issue you knives in prison.

He’s going to find out why they call it the slammer.

Black Adam on March 29, 2008 at 6:21 PM

That was great.

I can’t wait for the sequel when he knocks out a would-be-mugger on the bus.

Livefreeordie on March 29, 2008 at 6:26 PM

Now that fellow wasn’t talking to his smartass grandson about the color of the would be attacker at the bus stop. He was taking care of business in a way that a lot of seniors can’t.

My only concern is that if his picture is widely broadcast, he might need more protection from other punks into payback. I hope he has some support.

JAW on March 29, 2008 at 6:28 PM

Too bad he won’t walk home anymore to avoid that.

OneGyT on March 29, 2008 at 6:28 PM

Kinda Reminds me of my grandfather a WWII vet that, just passed away last November.(he was 90)
(Passed away, Nov. 7th to be exact)

Small… but mean, nasty and powerful. >:D

billy on March 29, 2008 at 6:23 PM

That’s a great story. Especially since that guy got lucky. 19 times out of 20 — at least — he would have ended up in the hospital. But NPR would rather its audience keep kidding themselves.

Meanwhile the “victim” (i.e., the criminal) probably retained his “lesson” for all of a couple days before targeting someone else.

Lee on March 29, 2008 at 6:37 PM

billy on March 29, 2008 at 6:23 PM

Different situation, and it’s one thing for a mugger to go after a grown man; another thing entirely to go after someone who is presumed to be weaker, and a non-threat (such as an elderly person).

That being said, my 87 year old uncle would have done the same thing, and the kid would not have walked away. Uncle was a POW in WWII (interned in Austria by Nazis after D-Day +13 plane crash) and tough as nails well into his 80’s.

Wanderlust on March 29, 2008 at 6:37 PM

Did anyone stick around the news website long enough to watch the next clip? It was a story about how young hispanic youths were attacking Asian women in broad daylight with all kinds of people around. 3 or 4 would push her to the ground and take her purse. I forget how many of these attacks they’ve had but it was a lot. Deportation?

thatcher on March 29, 2008 at 6:41 PM

Day or night, it has no relevance..(to gangs, actually daytime, is easier because people generally feel “protected”)

I grew up around Gary, IN day or night, makes no difference.

Chakra Hammer on March 29, 2008 at 6:46 PM

The little punk got a history lesson at least.

RobCon on March 29, 2008 at 6:49 PM

That was a great story. Thanks Allahpundit.

One thing I was wondering though, they mentioned the attacker as 15 or 16 but no race or ethnicity. I saw on a Canadian website one time, the criminals described as “non-white.” I wonder if that was the case here or the guy didn’t get a look at the attacker.

Canadian Infidel on March 29, 2008 at 6:50 PM

I am not a McCain fan; but seriously, if he put SSGT Clouston on his campaign staff as a consultant for Homeland Security and Dept. of Education I would totally max out giving to his campaign.

Now, SSGT Clouston is a REAL MAN. Time for some Geehawdees and various other punks to get butt teeth/balls-kicked by Americans with backbones! Let’s Continue To Roll, Americans.

Branch Rickey on March 29, 2008 at 6:53 PM

…or the guy didn’t get a look at the attacker.

Kinda hard to kick a guy in the teeth and not get a look. Interesting though that the attackers race wasn’t mentioned.

BacaDog on March 29, 2008 at 6:54 PM

The Yahoo connection for me only showed the advertisement. I found it at the News Station’s website

Just in case you don’t connect.

Awsome. Wonder if they nick name the mugger Gummy.

This video made me cheer.

joewm315 on March 29, 2008 at 7:05 PM

The great thing about that generation of soldiers is that they didn’t have to go around telling everyone how great they were!
I knew a guy for 25 years who was a great friend and an incredible worker. When he died, we found out that he was a triple bronze star with oak leaf cluster winner who had been a forward observer during the Battle of the Bulge and also later in North Africa. He never talked about the medals or even much about what he did. He didn’t have to, he knew who he was and what he had done and didn’t figure anyone else had to know. Even his kids didn’t know until after his death. We need more hero like that in this country and less whiners!

flytier on March 29, 2008 at 7:20 PM

Terrific video! That man is one of the reasons America is the greatest nation on the planet.
And I hope the 15-year old mugger learned a life altering lesson that day. That too, would be to this good man’s credit.

localmalcontent on March 29, 2008 at 7:21 PM

Maybe they didn’t mention the mugger’s race because it had nothing to do with the story.

I actually like this story too.

It was featured on Redeye the other night, Gutfeld called BS on it and I’m inclined to agree.
Personally, even though it’s not as Progressive, I’d think that the octogenarian paratrooper’s approach is probably the most effective way to deal with a punk with a knife.

My husband and I think this is an awesome story! Good on him for not taking any guff from some punk.

In Texas no one knows who is carrying, so there are very few muggings.

Johan Klaus on March 29, 2008 at 8:20 PM

Heh, you’ve gotta love the -old retired veteran kicks thug’s ass- type stories. When are these dumbasses gonna learn, you don’t screw with retired military?

doubleplusundead on March 29, 2008 at 8:20 PM

The only thing that would have made it better would have been if this man had held the mugger down and farted in his face. Because hey, he’s 81, you know he must have powerful flatulence!

radjah shelduck on March 29, 2008 at 8:25 PM

Maybe they didn’t mention the mugger’s race because it had nothing to do with the story.

Don Carne on March 29, 2008 at 7:25 PM

The little pricks race and complexion has everything to do with the story. At the end of the segment they stated that police were still looking for the suspect. A description of the suspect that went a little deeper than a 15 or 16 male would be very helpful to the public in helping to identify an at-large criminal that has a propensity for jamming knives in the sides of old people.

His race and complexion did not make him a criminal, but it could sure help the public more easily identify him and get this criminal off the streets. The only reason they didn’t mention his race is just pc bull**** in action.

Yakko77 on March 29, 2008 at 8:28 PM

Bravo. But this is why old folks (and all law abiding people) should be allowed to get concealed carry permits. Most 81 year olds, especially women, can’t counter a young male. Too bad CA makes it so difficult for people who aren’t movie stars to protect themselves.

SSGT Clouston: … And then I walked off and left him.

Reporter: You didn’t turn around and watch him?

SSGT Clouston: … No, ma’am.

Reporter: He didn’t get up to follow you?

SSGT Clouston: … No, ma’am.

SSGT Clouston: (unsaid)… I don’t think he wanted me to kick him in the Malkins anymore and he wanted to keep the rest of his teeth, the little p*ssy.

Subsunk: Outstanding, SSGT Clouston. I’ll carry your groceires anyday, and take on anyone who so much as sneezes funny at you, sir.

FCCS(SW/AW) Jeff Weimer, USN

JeffWeimer on March 29, 2008 at 9:56 PM

The teen was described as “15 or 16″? Vague enough for y’all?

Thank you, sir, for your service and for kicking a punk when he’s down. He deserved nothing less.

SouthernGent on March 29, 2008 at 10:16 PM

Maybe they didn’t mention the mugger’s race because it had nothing to do with the story.

Don Carne on March 29, 2008 at 7:25 PM

Was winding up to tell you otherwise but Gideon beat me to it: they’re still looking for him. I’m surprised they gave no other description either (height, clothes, etc). Perhaps they were so caught up with the 80 yr old they just forgot that (usually included) part.

That said, none of us knows the race of the attacker nor the reasons for omitting it. But only if the attacker were captured already would it be irrelevant.

inviolet on March 29, 2008 at 10:20 PM

It shouldn’t be too hard to find the BG, look for a punk with an ice bag on his jewels and another one on his mouth…..

darwin-t on March 29, 2008 at 10:45 PM

Old timer I knew once had his home invaded by an 18 yo punk. The cops were wondering whether to charge him with grievious bodily harm – he bust the kid up with his bare hands. Kid spent a month in hospital.

He was a very modest man. Never made a big deal about the fact he used to be in the original SBS and was as lethal as great white shark on crack.

LimeyGeek on March 29, 2008 at 10:51 PM

Interesting note:
Look at how this story is written up at the San Jose Mercury News. How many factual errors do they make?
I count three, but at least they remembered to leave out any description of the assailant other than a vague “was between 15 and 16 years old.”
The Deciders.

billy on March 29, 2008 at 10:52 PM

Bu..bu..but what about the poor child’s troubled upbringing?

BowHuntingTexas on March 29, 2008 at 8:14 PM

What upbringing? Parents are either too lazy, too busy, or over-indulgent. All 3 of which are monster generators.

(And yes, I know you were being sarcastic)

Connie on March 29, 2008 at 11:02 PM

The Baltimore Sun started a policy years ago of not giving a description of the perps for PC reasons. Really helpful to protect society, no? Liberal so*s!

wepeople on March 29, 2008 at 11:05 PM

Race & description would also be relevant to the story so the public would be looking out for this non-descript person when they are walking through the neighborhood. Liberals really don’t much care about what criminals to do people that’s why they coddle them so much. Remember what the man said? 40 or more years ago that would never have happened. Why?, the liberals hadn’t destroyed our criminal justice system, taken prayer & Bible out of schools or cheapened life with legalized abortion at that time.

Kevin71 on March 29, 2008 at 11:18 PM

This gentleman is truly awesome!

Maybe Hillary can steal this story for her next tall tale: “I kicked him right here….then I kicked him in the teeth, just as the sniper’s bullet whizzed by my left ear.”

p40tiger on March 29, 2008 at 11:33 PM

Gutsy little punk too. When I got mugged in Santa Rosa there were three of them, not just one. I guess he figured someone old would be easy prey.

There are times I get annoyed reading here. There are weeks or months when I leave.

But a minute ago I was elsewhere online – and in a very non-political place – and I had to read about “turning my lights out” and how wonderful Barack Obama is …

So I came here for a quick palate cleanser. And read this:

There’s something about an 81-year-old veteran and the phrase “And then I kicked him in the teeth” that’s simply magical

.

And then the whole world makes sense again.

What I love about this place is that it reminds me frequently that most of what I see and read online and in the mainstream media is the exception to the rule.

The reality is that this guy, this tough old buzzard, is America.

The rest is smoke and mirrors and stupidity.

Remembering that is the best reason to come back here.
