To answer your question honestly AP, I think trying to tar Rudy with the same brush as Spitzer will be a stretch. He didn’t hire high priced call girls and hold up in expensive hotels with his long black socks still on, LOL!
No, he entered into an affair and threw his wife Donna Hanover away. He then MARRIED his mistress. No seedy tales of hookers in hotel rooms, no FBI lurking around on “structuring” or money laundering charges, just a guy that committed adultery and married his love interest. In today’s world of politics that is pretty tame…

ONE MAN did not ‘turn the city around’. My problem with him was his denying his citizens’ 2nd amendment rights. Why is it that you people don’t see that that PHILOSOPHY is a bad thing. Rudy thinks that the government is the solution – as long as he’s in charge (psssst. . . that’s what liberals think).

The 2nd amendment says that the government may not be there to protect you when you need them so you need to be able to protect yourself. Rudy looked at a gun ban as ‘protecting the cops’. And then he SUED the manufacturers because they dared to make a legal product. . . THAT TAKES BALLS OF A KIND THAT I DON’T WANT NEAR POWER.

Madison Conservative he wouldn’t beat Clinton for the NY senate seat. He just wouldn’t. He got ONE delegate out of his front runner status for a year. . . ONE. So is everyone just missing out on the great conservative messiah that this Rudy is?

If I were to put money on it, I’d put money on Hillary against Rudy in NY for the senate seat. There is no way Rudy beats Hillary in any election within a majority D region. Rudy can’t even beat Ron Paul.

I think Rudy would be a great Governor. I hope he runs.

Ditto. New York Governor is a perfect role for Rudy. I would guess that current New York mayor Michael Bloomberg would also be very interested in running too.

There was an air of inevitability regarding Shpritzer becoming mayor. He had that phony persona as a “White Collar Crime Buster” that too many people bought into. May New Yorkers voted for Rudy for mayor because they rightfully put their safety over their ideology. For Governor they would have reverted to ideological and party loyalty. Shpritzer probably would have won (which shows again how stupid New Yorkers can be)a race against Giuliani.

Mind you, I think he’d be better off running for Hillary’s seat, just to stick it to her if she gets the nomination.

I would love it if that happens! I think he could’ve beat her in the senate race had fate not intervened, and although I’m no big Rudi fan, he’d have been in a better position to run for the Whitehouse. And, Hill would hopefully just have been baking cookies in Chappaqua…*sigh*

Well said! The other anti Rudy types were people who were honchos in the municipal unions who were used to the city doing a financial Lewinsky on them. Rudy was a terrific mayor and he made the city safe enough for anti Rudy yuppie types to move into so they could hate him without being distracted by muggers (all the while sipping their over priced Starbuck’s frappucinos). Rudy left his shrewish wife Donna “The Vagina Monologues” for a better woman – good for him! As for his kids, they are two dopey kids who I remember when they were young.

I still say he should come out to Cali and run for governor.

Pretty much anyone would be better than the governator and maybe Rudy would be the best man to deal with “the MS-13 problem” on the east side of L.A.

He couldn’t beat Hillary for Senate because he got prostate cancer for God’s sake and had to drop out to tend to medical treatment.
I mean, really, you are welcome to not like Rudy as a political candidate but, let’s at least be honest about what went on in the past.
If YOU GOT PROSTATE CANCER do you think you would stop everything to save your own life?

If he does govern as a conservative NY Gov, conservatives will be much more trusting if he tries for President again.

He and McCain would likely boost one another in the state, which would work out well for the both of them.
