“I am looking forward to a debate with John McCain. John McCain is a good man. He’s an American hero. We honor his service to this nation. But he has made some bad choices about the company he keeps.”

McCain has been much wiser about using this line of attack. Judgement, baby.

A less cynical, less calculating man would stop dead after saying such a thing, smack himself on the forehead, let out a mighty “D’oh!” and take the rest of the day off.

Not Obama. He keeps right on smilin’.

Karl Rove just ticked off a dozen Obama lies right off the top of his head on Greta.

TheBigOldDog on March 26, 2008 at 10:47 PM

Rove: She needs to win 60.5% of the remain delegates to go into the convention leading… Tough but not impossible especially in she wins better than 60/40 in Pennsylvania…

amerpundit on March 26, 2008 at 10:51 PM

He sure seemed it. But hey, it’s in our interest to keep Operation Chaos going… I’m shocked Hillary was so upfront about how she’s going to get the Florida and Michigan delegates seated, “one way or another.” She’s going to make him oppose it at the convention through a credentials fight. She said, “let’s see him do that 3 months before the general election.” She was as serious as a heart attack.

WSJ/NBC poll has Obama and Clinton tied, and Obama with a projected lead over McCain, all under the heading: Obama undamaged by Wright.

Wish I could engage the entire WSJ in a very large bet.

Don’t forget that pistol of a wife Obama surrounded himself with too. She’s hurting him more than Hillary. And I haven’t seen her on TV since her “I am proud” moment. If Obama somehow got elected, Michelle would be the only First Lady to be under a Presidential Gag Order.

It’s obvious Obama has some issues with his decision making process.

Hog Wild on March 26, 2008 at 10:57 PM

Nevermind the racist pastor who clearly is akin to Obama on views of race. Obama’s military advisor is Tony McPeak who is a complete idiot- so much so that he makes Joe Biden look intelligent. This is important because McPeak would undoubtedly be crafting military and national security policy should Obama win.

Likewise, Republicans and Conservatives need to be very concerned about McCain’s advisors who all seem willing to trash this nation.

Obama hasn’t explained anything, heres what I find odd!
You would think if one really wants to be President, and
a President to all Americans Obama would of scuttled Rev.
Wrights racial schooner,period!

But how could he,that is the company Obama keeps, his speech
to any normal thinking person sent a red flag loud a clear,
he then clarifys it a bit more, and it gets worse!

The liberal media gets on the bandwagon and hails it the best speech ever since America was formed.

So after the media gives kudo’s to Obama’s speech,Obama gets
a green light that hey, those that don’t agree are racists!

So instead of the poisonous relationship any body would
terminate, its embraced by the percived notion of all!

And again, how did a Liberal nominee from the Liberal Party
side-track and distract from the election process, and turn
it into a race referendum!

Interesting comment from a poster on the Politico article about Phil Breseden’s superdelegate primary proposal.

tireofit
Location: NA

Party: Democrat Reply #9

Date: Mar. 26, 2008 – 5:46 AM EST

Bredesen also joined House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in warning that superdelegates should not overturn the outcome from primaries and caucuses???

Nancy Pelosi seems to be running her mouth quite often now. Why is it that if she believes superdelegates should not overturn the outcome from primaries and caucuses she has not spoken up about Kennedy, Kerry and Richardson endorsing Obama? Why has she not explained to them that Hillary won their states, therefore according to her, they should leave Obama’s column and join Hillary’s.

The “rules” are that superdelegates were chosen to select whoever they think has the best chance to win the general election, NOT to vote with their states. Obama threw that theory out when he accepted the backing of superdelegates that come from states that Hillary won. That argument is no longer valid and Pelosi needs to catch up to what is happening and either say that Kennedy, Kerry and Richardson are wrong to do what they are doing or admit that because the rules say that superdelegates can vote for their choice, whatever they decide will be fair.

If Obama honestly thinks that the old politics of Washington is so bad, why is he so thrilled to have people that are a big part of OLD politics endorse him? Why is he constantly referring to JFK? Obama has double standards, when OLD politics benefit him they are good politics, but when they benefit anyone else they suddenly need to be changed. Change we can believe appears to be any change that benefits Obama.

Unless the MILLIONS of voters in Michigan and Florida are given their chance to select the Dem nominee, there can be no clear winner. If thousands were counted in states that Obama won because he had the backing of 90% of the black vote, then states that are better suited for Hillary need to have their chance as well.

Hardball is just beginning and correlates nicely with the opening day of MLB play.

Obama is a hypocrite, but it’s more than that. This quote was made back in Feb. when Obama was trying to tie McCain to Bush. Their plan was to turn a moderate John McCain into a GW Bush clone. It’s going to be hard for democrats to paint McCain with the Bush brush now, not only because of the Wright story, but because the truth is, McCain is not the “extreme right wing conservative” (that even Rush Limbaugh hates?) they are trying to make him out to be. The Wright story has made it impossible for Obama to try the “guilt by association” strategy HE was planning all along.

Dollayo on March 27, 2008 at 1:59 AM

No, victor, I don’t believe he does. Obama has been told so often that he is “The One” that I truly believes he thinks himself invincible.

The shine is starting to come off as Obama spends more and more time attacking Hillary than presenting himself as a viable candidate. He is going to get his ass handed to him this summer by Hillary and in the GE (if he makes it) by McCain; he just doesn’t yet realize it yet.

But my journey is part of a larger journey – one shared by all who’ve ever sought to apply the values of their faith to our society. It’s a journey that takes us back to our nation’s founding, when none other than a UCC church inspired the Boston Tea Party and helped bring an Empire to its knees.

Agreed. The current race appears to be a choice between three Democratic Socialists/Communists. Chose your poison.

I challenge anyone who is intellectually honest to compare McCain’s long senate record with the Program of the Communist Party USA.

I think everyone here understands the negative implications of another Clinton presidency (Hillary’s third term), so I won’t go into that now.

Bottom line: In my opinion it appears that the three remaining candidates for President are all trying to advance “The Road to Socialism USA“, and should be considered domestic enemies of the Constitution of the United States of America.

Indy Conservative on March 27, 2008 at 12:10 AM

I’d like to see some simple enforcement of section 3 of the 14th amendment to the Constitution of the United States:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

John Kerry, for one, should not be allowed to be a Senator without a vote of two-thirds of each House. (He had previously taken an oath as an officer of the United States Navy, before that picture was taken of him meeting with the Secretary General of the Vietnamese Communist Party.)

How many other US Senators, having previously taken an oath to support the Constitution of the United States, have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof?

Examine their Senate record and ask if their actions support the Constitution of the United States or instead support the CONSTITUTION OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and The Road to Socialism USA.

Red Pill on March 27, 2008 at 3:06 PM

Obama must have meant that McCain chose poorly by keeping company with those North Vietnamese torturers in the Hanoi Hilton. Maybe he should have been hanging around with Jane Fonda–she was prettier back then.
