Col. David Hunt: I too can confirm the shamelessness of Hillary’s Tuzla lies; Audio: “No evasive maneuver,” says … pilot who flew her there

I fear this glorious story is near an end, so here’s Hunt getting in some last licks about how “insulting” her lies are to the people who protected her. Not an uncommon sentiment, it seems: “She has no sense of what a statement like that does to soldiers.”

We’ll miss Tuzla, but take heart. In her laundry list of Hillary lies this morning, the boss forgot one very promising, still mostly unexplored lead. Luckily ABC didn’t. SECOND LOOK AT JARHEAD HILLARY!

Update: A lie from stem to stern.

How could I have forgotten that one? D’oh!

I like that guy, Col. Hunt.

2theright on March 26, 2008 at 9:31 AM

I saw this segment last night and I could just strangle Lanny Davis. Col. Hunt owned him on so many levels and all Lanny could do is whine and make excuses for Hillary. ARGHHH!

MechEng5by5 on March 26, 2008 at 9:41 AM

Lanny Davis was absolutely despicable in this segment. I love Col. Hunt. You could just see the anger.

BTW, if you’ve never had the chance, you should listen to him do radio filling in for Howie Carr. The guy is a hoot.

JammieWearingFool on March 26, 2008 at 9:43 AM

How did Lanny Davis spin this story?

PappaMac on March 26, 2008 at 9:43 AM

I always like the test explanation:

“in the context of frequent discussions they used to have about women’s access to supposedly open career paths. Frequently, the equal opportunity that was promised was not a reality - and sometimes female faculty members went out to conduct ‘tests,’ Henry said. ‘If Hillary Rodham had asked about the Marines as a way of testing whether the corps actually welcomed women, ‘it would have been consistent with what was going on with us at the time,’ Henry said.”

So they went out and tested. Hillary got what had to be considered a legitimate political “Bingo!” here and, as a result, didn’t do anything with it? Is this just what you would expect at the height of states considering passage of the ERA?

Well, with Hillary and Bill, the answer can only be a resounding, “Depends on the personal political implications.”

On the Hunt……with the truth!

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on March 26, 2008 at 10:02 AM

Stick a fork in Tuzla, it’s done.

NeoconNews.com on March 26, 2008 at 10:10 AM

Lanny Davis reminds me of the lawyer in “Jurassic Park” who has his head bitten off by the T Rex. Anybody else see the resemblance?

radjah shelduck on March 26, 2008 at 10:11 AM

Ya know? I’m not a famous person by any means (thankfully) and might not quite be as smart as the Smartest Woman in the World, but even I know that if you say something that is not true, someone’s gonna call you on it and they’re going to have proof up on you-tube before you wake up the next morning. Especially when you’re someone who is disliked as HRC is, and ESPECIALLY when you’re running for POTUS. What are these people thinking?

I’d be afraid to even use hyperbole in that situation–which pretty much destroys how political campaigns are conducted, doesn’t it?

Bob's Kid on March 26, 2008 at 10:12 AM

“There wasn’t anybody coughing in the Balkans the day she showed up.”

I imagine the birds quit chirping when she’s around.

Tony737 on March 26, 2008 at 10:13 AM

What are these people thinking? - Kid

She’s a Klinton, they can’t help themselves. Is she really dumb enough to think nobody would catch this? Or dare to question it? Wake up, woman, you’re not a goddess.

Tony737 on March 26, 2008 at 10:16 AM

Yeah, Davis is such a weasel. Of course, did the Clintons and their cronies ever really care about our military?

WisCon on March 26, 2008 at 10:19 AM

Saw this live. Lanny Davis was trying to say that a reporter’s article stating Hillary was “protected by sharpshooters” was proof she was telling the truth. WTF?

I actually hadn’t thought of the Colonel’s point, that claiming there was sniper fire is insulting to those who ensured there wasn’t.

More thumbs up for Col. Hunt.

mikeyboss on March 26, 2008 at 10:19 AM

Yeah, Lanny quoted ONE single newspaper article. He must be a major stockholder in the Maytag washing machine company.

BTW, if you’ve never had the chance, you should listen to him do radio filling in for Howie Carr. The guy is a hoot.

JammieWearingFool on March 26, 2008 at 9:43 AM

I think Col. Hunt is from Maine. He fills in for Howie quite a bit, and also does book-signing appearances with him on occasion (for Howie’s book about Boston gangster Whitey Bulger)

Del Dolemonte on March 26, 2008 at 10:29 AM

Now that the truth has come out in the open, for whatever reason, Col Hunt joins in as the know all, of I was there,
(Don’t get me wrong - I like the guy). But why, with the public forum that he has had in the media the last few years, has he kept his mouth shut about this incident, instead of telling the truth long ago?????

JBrad on March 26, 2008 at 10:33 AM

I wish someone would find that little Bosnian girl and get her version. She must be in her in her late teens, or early 20s by now? Plus, I’m sure the MSM would ask her who she would vote in our presidential election (like they are with Iraqis).

Brat on March 26, 2008 at 10:38 AM

But why, with the public forum that he has had in the media the last few years, has he kept his mouth shut about this incident, instead of telling the truth long ago?????

JBrad on March 26, 2008 at 10:33 AM

It wasn’t an “incident” until Hillary lied about it during a Presidential campaign. Before that it was a successful and uneventful visit by a First Lady.

Why should he be talking about this or any of the hundreds of other successful visits by VIPs?

EJDolbow on March 26, 2008 at 10:41 AM

Lanny Davis is a shining example of the type of legendary quality jerks the Clintons have surrounded themselves with. The guy is a moron to the extent that he will go on Fox News and argue with an Army Colonel who was there on the ground in Tuzla the day Shillary was there, saying with a perfectly straight face that sniper fire was all over the place, when the Colonel said that there was no sniper fire that day. As said the comedian Sinbad who was also there. As said the CBS reporter who was there on the scene travelling with Shillary. Yet despite all this, Davis kept arguing that everyone who was there that day was mistaken and Shillary is telling the truth. Davis is an even bigger moron than that, because he then went on CNN and got into an argument with Times columnist Joe Klein on the exact same thing! This is why Shillary is losing credibility and it’s also why she is going to lose this campaign. She surrounds herself with what amounts to a confederacy of dunces!

pilamaye on March 26, 2008 at 10:44 AM

Another crazy thing about Lanny Davis is that he’s still trying to paint the story the way Hillary first described it, after she herself has recanted.

I always thought he seemed like a decent guy, but he came across terribly on this one.

mikeyboss on March 26, 2008 at 11:13 AM

Davis was doing more than disagreeing, he was essentially calling Hunt a liar.

Last night I shouted at my TV for the first time in months. It was mildly cathartic.

What I shouted isn’t fit to repeat in whole, but it involved, in part, the horse Davis rode in on.

Russ on March 26, 2008 at 11:44 AM

When I was a small boy, my mother gave me a piece of advice. Never strive to be untruthful. In order to be a successful liar you have to have a tremendous memory. Obviously Mrs. Clinton’s mother never gave her that little tidbit of advice.

pueblo1032 on March 26, 2008 at 11:53 AM

I fear this glorious story is near an end

If the Tuzla story’s done, the takeaway should be BillO’s dumbassitude. Davis quoted a news report that confirmed Hunt’s point. BillO ignored that fact.

Bugler on March 26, 2008 at 12:35 PM

C’mon, sing it with me…

I’m in Tuzla, baby, so why don’t you Hill me…

innominatus on March 26, 2008 at 12:36 PM

Col. Hunt was there and knows first hand that Hillery was lying. Lanny Davis tries to to equate saying the wrong thing accidentally with purposely making things up to inflate your story. Typical Clinton hack.

TooTall on March 26, 2008 at 1:20 PM

The Hildabeast very proudly told people her lie on several occasions. What kind of mother takes her 15-yr old daughter to a war zone without the protection of kevlar helmet and flak vest? According to the beast, she did so, and proudly.

Hey Russ! I know that horse that you are talking about and that was my exact feelings too.

cjs1943 on March 26, 2008 at 1:29 PM

Ace just called Allah the “Eeyore of the internet”.

Seriously AP, what is your basis of thinking this story is on its last legs?

Jungliszt on March 26, 2008 at 1:33 PM

Seinfeld’s George Costanza famously quipped: “It’s not a lie if you believe it.”

My favorite character on Seinfeld. :)

Chakra Hammer on March 26, 2008 at 3:16 PM

How did Lanny Davis spin this story?

PappaMac on March 26, 2008 at 9:43 AM

Well for one he tried comparing/equating Hillary’s outright lie to McCain’s mixup of Iran and Syria. When that didn’t work he pulled the ridiculous quote from the paper which got shot down. After that he just whined…

MechEng5by5 on March 26, 2008 at 4:39 PM

Is Hillarys real last name McBeth . . . .

Texyank on March 26, 2008 at 4:58 PM

Way to go Rusty. Today’s news yesterday!

Rusty Humphries for VP!

No, actually, Col. Hunt showed his face and the birds were all at rigid attention.

oldleprechaun on March 26, 2008 at 7:33 PM

Saw this last night. It’s about time somebody calls it like it is. She LIED, not missremembered, misspoke, imbellished or misstook. She LIED. Col. Hunt always has a way of cutting to the chase and has never fraised his wording politically correct.
Under Davis’ reasoning, because the police in my neighborhood are armed with handguns, every time I walk my dog I do it underfire. Just like Hillary.
