</blockquote>Phenomenal! You get it. McCain will destroy the Dhimmicrat nominee for precisely the same reasons why most of the HA crowd doesn't like him. Plus we'd rather go have a beer with McCain than the Obamanation anyway.

Johnny Mac vs Obama…….Prune juice vs Perrier. Yeah yeah yeah Barry O is a hack, but the plebs won’t care. It is gonna be 84 in reverse.

I think a lot of hard core conservatives underestimate McCain's appeal to the vast independent middle of the electorate that don't study politics at the day to day granular level that we do. You are missing the forest for the trees. The guy has been a high profile politician for at least the last 10 years and still has a much better favorable/unfavorable ratio than either of the Dems, despite the nearly ubiquitously favorable treatment Obama gets from the MSM. McCain is beating them head to head in the swing states, including places like Pennsylvania that have gone Dem the last two elections. That's not an accident. The apolitical middle doesn't really know or care about his specific policy positions. They just know he's a tough old patriotic SOB who will kick ass for America if he has to, while Obama is a latte sipping weenie and Hillary is a shrill power mad harridan. They can vote for McCain without feeling like they have become a "conservative" and taken a side in the partisan divide because of the distance he has kept from the GOP establishment.

And SouthernGent has the breakdown of the NC Dem primary dymanics nailed.

Obama's speech was probably the best speech I have ever heard on race from a purely political criteria. What politicians do is try to be everything to everyone and I think Obama's speech gave just about every racial group something they could take from it, throw in the Richardson endorsement and you have a slam dunk, since he does have a latino problem. His grandma line was about the only thing that kept him from getting an +A, but old people are not voting for him anyway in large margins so, while he won't admit it, was probably the most truthful line of the speech if taken as a metaphor. Of course I think the easiest way to defeat racism is simply to wait for old people to die.

That said, I despise politicians for this very nature. As far as the cause of race, I think the speech was barely a net gain, but he did make plenty of concessions albeit with minor caveats that many would miss. But the speech really meant nothing to me, since it is not so much what he thinks about race or what his pastor says, but what his policies are. I don't think that European Socialism, the continual descent into mediocrity that we have taken for at least the past one hundred years, will raise the status of living of any race, let alone the realization of potential for all races.

We all knew that this party wouldn't last forever, but I doubt it's over anytime soon. Even if she loses, she's not quitting. They will have to drag her out of the Dim race kicking and screaming, and she will leave a lot of blood on the floor when it happens.

Don't worry folks, The Hildebeast will win the nomination and unfortunately....the presidency.

At least we will have saved ourselves from the immediate destruction, globalization and islamization of the United States...

At least with Hillary we will have until maybe mid 2009 before our cities get hit with muslim nukes and she forms the Communist States of America.

That's right. And BHO's speech didn't win any moderate or conservative votes, IMO. It polarized folks, rallying the lefties and off-putting the rest of us.

We have an open primary here in NC. There are more "unaffiliated" voters than proclaimed democrat or Republican (or other). We don't have to pledge to a crap oath, we (the unaffiliated) just tell the poll workers which ballot we want. I don't believe Obama is 11 points ahead in NC. He may be ahead, but not by 11 points. He's surely ahead in Durham (Duke, majority black) and Chapel Hill (UNC, latte-drinking, White-guilt liberals) and in Eastern NC (rural, large black population), but Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Greensboro are much more conservative than these areas and Western NC's mountain areas are ripe Hillary country.

Obama and that snowball in hell have about the same chance at the Oval Office.

"<em>I'm melting! Melting</em>!" is the Barack theme.

As the scrutiny increases, BHO decreases.

Don't deal out North Carolina yet. For the past couple of years, North Carolina has had their problems. The Duke business, Muslims students attacking football players and the murder of two college students by a 17 year old Black male. We may see a replay of New Hampshire. North Carolina's black population is only 21.7 percent. New York's black population is 17 percent. Georgia's and South Carolina's black population is about 30 percent and they are both red states.

I do have a "POV."

They stole it from me and posted it all over the Internet.

It gets downloaded by the millions every day.

And still, people don't care about my views.

Excuse me, but by "POV" you mean "POrn Video," right?

I still think this has done a lot of damage to Obama, I don’t think he’ll get away with this.

Mickey Kaus reports PPP changed their sample:

In North Carolina, Obama doesn’t seem to be losing ground. He’s up 21 points, according to the RPP poll. Last week, he was up only one point in the same poll a week ago–although the results aren’t strictly comparable because RPP expanded its universe of “likely” voters this week to include all 2006 general election participants.

They didn't like the results so they changed the way they got them. Problem solved!

<blockquote>Wow. So white liberals in Maine are politically suicidal? Anxious to pay double federal taxes to help “heal” racism in America? Or just not too hot on deep thinking?

LOL. Probably more so. Imagine how guilty they must feel that their state is less than 1% black. Their racism must be powerful up there. On the other hand, maybe some of the southern states that feel guilty about not having enough white people can send money to Maine.

Doesn’t say much for the intelligence of the voters if they still support Obama after the Wright episode. If Obama didn’t agree with Wright, why did he stay in that church for 20 years?

Thank you very much.

I've been calling the voters 'idiots' and I didn't get much support here.

And I've been saying that Hussein is playing the race card, that he hates America, long before his pastor's story broke out, and I didn't get much support either.

The poll only means he has swung to the lead for the moment and there is a <strong>lot</strong> of time left until the actual primary (which is the only thing that counts). A 20 point swing in such a short time merely means <strong>all</strong> polls are, the the moment, invalid.
