Isn’t Islam like self-defaming. I thought that was pretty well a built in feature.

Michelle, there appears to be a SNAFU with the video!
canopfor on March 24, 2008 at 8:17 PM
Wow. It didn’t take long for the reprobates at YouTube to take it down.
…or is it still ‘propogating” or whatever?
SilverStar830 on March 24, 2008 at 8:19 PM
Religion poisons everything.
JayHaw Phrenzie on March 24, 2008 at 8:20 PM
Try now. Thanks!

Getting sued in court is one thing, its the Islamic

If you go to the YouTube website to watch this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_tqB-bdLng
you get this message…
I think the video just needs to be opened up for public consumption.

Um, the person who claims to be Michelle, isn’t. If it really was our Illustrious Hostess, then her name would have a hyperlink.
Troy Rasmussen on March 24, 2008 at 8:40 PM
Very well said Robert.
PS- video still not working.
Zorro on March 24, 2008 at 8:47 PM
What’s the matter YouTube?
Is Jihad Watch not “fitna” for public consumption?
djtnt on March 24, 2008 at 8:49 PM
It is I. The video is public. YouTube just sucks. Stand by.
Michelle on March 24, 2008 at 8:50 PM
Riiiight. . . I’ve been at Hot Air since it’s inception, and read quite a bit on MichelleMalkin.com, sorry, dude/lady, your not selling it very well.
Troy Rasmussen on March 24, 2008 at 8:53 PM
Too bad it’s not a video criticizing Christianity or Judaism or Buddhism or whatever. The Board of Appeaser Censors at Youtube doubtless wouldn’t have a problem with that. But we musn’t criticize “the religion of peace”!
DavePa on March 24, 2008 at 8:57 PM
Troy Rasmussen: How could the name Michelle have been re-registered to another person? Names can be linked or de-linked in the Profile page at any time.
aengus on March 24, 2008 at 8:59 PM
Um. . .If they register their name as Michelle. How about this, why would the “Real Michelle” de-link her name after 2 years?
Troy Rasmussen on March 24, 2008 at 9:03 PM
I agree with Troy; her name should be a link.
This is a closed registration, so if someone’s trying to impersonate her (and it appears they are with the “try now” and “stand by”) it shouldn’t be too hard for the gang to track them down and ban their silly ass.
If it’s actually you, Michelle, apologies all around. :)

More proof that your not Michelle Malkin: Wrong hyperlink. Try again. I can’t resist–Here’s a hint: Fox News Contributor.
Troy Rasmussen on March 24, 2008 at 9:12 PM
The problem with youtube is it sometimes takes as much as an hour for a video to appear
William Amos on March 24, 2008 at 9:12 PM
Dude it is michelle she has had that SN since the inception of hotair.
Unless this is some teasing on your part there is no doubt that Michelle has that SN on this site.
William Amos on March 24, 2008 at 9:13 PM
Oh, Come On! William, you should know who the Real Michelle is! You’ve been here long enough.
Troy Rasmussen on March 24, 2008 at 9:13 PM

I wonder if they git this idea from our friends north of the border? The HRC? (Not THAT HRC)

William Amos on March 24, 2008 at 9:17 PM
Hey everyone, I have an idea
Let’s hurl abuse at the site’s founder!!!!
Good times everyone!
It’s still blocked by UmmahTube as a “private” video.
daryl_herbert on March 24, 2008 at 9:18 PM
It’s telling me the video is no longer available. Did YouTube take it down due to Jhadi complaints? Considering its topic that could be somewhat ironic.
Buford on March 24, 2008 at 9:18 PM
After reading hundreds of posts, I’ve developed a sense of each writers style. I used to be able to tell the difference between Allah and Bryan after reading just a few sentences. Ed is certainly different than Allah. So yea, I can tell who the real Allahpundit is. And I’m telling you, this is not Michelle.
Troy Rasmussen on March 24, 2008 at 9:20 PM
You leave out the possibility of someone registering under an assumed name AND posting stories under the nose of AP/EM. It could happen! :P
As humbling as it is to know you’re posting on something she reads, I’m willing to bet that Michelle’s for real.
Now, focus and watch the video!
emailnuevo on March 24, 2008 at 9:21 PM
True, but I’ve seen a poser here going by the name of “Michele”. One “L”.

LOL. I think he was hitting on me, but I could smell the cowardice.
jaime on March 24, 2008 at 9:25 PM
Cool can make a video “Wake up and smell the cowardice” a cologne for French men.
Not to be confused with “Wake up and smell the pasta” for Italians.
William Amos on March 24, 2008 at 9:27 PM
By the way, I’m only talking about the comments section. I know that Michelle posted this story and link to the Jihad Watch.
Troy Rasmussen on March 24, 2008 at 9:30 PM
Hmmmmmm. I’m getting the “video no longer available” message, too. From two different PC. And if I close either my left or right eye on each of those PC’s while clicking on the video link. Hmmmmmm.
GPE on March 24, 2008 at 9:44 PM
Let’s try not to make accusations that the left will use against us. Some people have made accusations on this thread which seem a tad paranoid. I fear that these paranoid statements could be used to attack what Robert Spenser is saying, even though Robert Spenser is not guilty of any paranoia in his analysis.
On a more general note and this applies to Michelle, we should try to not stereotype our political opponents on the basis of the most extreme nutcases. Most Democrats aren’t like the Berkeley City council, even if the Democratic Senators from about ten states are. To imply otherwise alienates the more reasonable Democrats. We need to persuade, not defeat, the right wing of the Democrats. They are reachable. If they aren’t, then we’ve already lost and you should go study the Koran.
thuja on March 24, 2008 at 9:46 PM
Technically, someone would have to hack into Michelle’s administrator account (which would not be separate from her commenter account) all the while avoiding the attention of Michelle/Allahpundit/Ed Morrissey to pull it off.
I remember last year Frank Black (a musician) posted at his official discussion group and no one would believe it was him. They all accused him of being an impostor. They seemed a little sheepish when it turned out to be him. You could email Michelle and tell her HA has been infiltrated by a cyberterrorist, it ought to straighten things out very quickly one way or the other.
aengus on March 24, 2008 at 9:48 PM
DhimmiTube! I didn’t make that one up, another commenter did whose name escapes me now. And Troy, it is Michelle Malkin, in the comments too.

The video is presenting two different options.
If you paste the URL in your browser, it says the video is private, you need an invite. The embedded version says video no longer available.

William Amos on March 24, 2008 at 10:39 PM
Back to the subject at hand this isnt just an attempt to quell critisim of islam as much as enforcing sharia law onto the entire world.
How many jihadists raged over Bush’s use of the word “Crusade” ? Isnt that hate speech as well trying to denegrate Christian believers ? What about labelling Christians as “Cross worshippers” in a derogitory tone or attack the Pope for his comments about Islam ?
They seem to want a very oneside critismism here.
William Amos on March 24, 2008 at 10:49 PM
Watson is that you fooling around again when you should be out looking for the real Michelle? I may have to dock your pay. Well if I paid you anything I would have to dock your pay anyway.

Funny how they mask their faces.
You’d think they would want to show the faces of Islam.

It took a few tries to get the video working for me at about 11:00 PM. I kept receiving the ‘Video not available’ message but it eventually played.
Thanks for the Vent Robert, Michelle and the video editor who took the time to put this together.
Canadian Infidel on March 24, 2008 at 11:07 PM
I don’t see how the 1770s are relevant to free speech. The Revolutionaries were declaring independence which was illegal in itself. Free speech never came up as a specific issue like taxation did. A better date to reference but be approx. 500 B.C. when the concept of free speech came into being.

Outstanding report Mr Spencer. Very informative links too.
…amazing how they manage to gather such a vast representation of Islamic/Muslim leaders at one time in one place and they don’t use any portion of that opportunity to address the issue of worldwide Islamic terrorism, Islamic oppression, the lack of basic human rights in Islam, and the murderous barbaric acts perpetrated on innocent men, women, and little children, in the name of Islam. It’s far more important that the Islamic leaders gather in their masses and discuss ways to force the free world to be shut up, and shut down.
Imagine that.
Given the fact that the United Nations is a mindless, toothless, and gutless entity with Muslim’s at the helm, I’m sure the U.N. will be riding the OIC coat-tails at the OIC’s beck and call to help nudge things the OIC’s way.
Watching and listening to Islamic and Muslim leaders, observing their works, their prioritys, and learning more and more about them by virtue of their works, their actions (or inactions as the case may be), and their orations, it’s almost like watching evil incarnate right before our very eyes. They’re anti-everything that defines freedom and democracy and goodness, and pro-everything that defines oppression and subjugation and suffering. What a horrible existence. What a terrible threat to the entire world.
SilverStar830 on March 25, 2008 at 3:00 AM
As they are setting themselves up as the legal representative of Islam, can I sue the OIC for Islam’s defamation of the Jews like me as “pigs and apes”?

Halley on March 25, 2008 at 6:55 AM
I am so very thankful for the work of Robert Spencer and Michelle for bringing this info to the forefront.
The free world had best get a handle on this. Any so called “religion” that has an enforcement wing/department should, in fact, not be classified as a religion [but as a cult] nor should it be given tax free status as such.
Saudi money will pour into our nation for the purpose of hiring high dollar attorneys. Jamming our courts. This is whats happening to Michael Savage, right now. These attorneys that will take this “blood-money” must be exposed and hounded. Their pictures plastered all over the internet. They need to be ostracized and condemned by all decent Americans.
Thanks again to R. Spencer and Michelle. DD

If you’re having video “hiccups” watching it here, try this:
You Tube > search for “Jihad Watch” > sort by date. Just watched the whole thing with no glitches. Very well done. Robert is an excellent speaker. Thanks for putting it up there, guys!
357 on March 25, 2008 at 9:52 AM
Fixed that for you.
It’s not “religion” in general that is the problem here, as evidenced by the fact that there are no prominent sites that are a “Jihad Watch”-equivalent for Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Baha’ism, Pastafarianism, etc.
It is the particular Arabian religio-political system known as Islam. And in fact, it is a minority of the people that practice Islam (which is still a lot of people, I know) who are “poison[ing] everything.” I dare say that most Muslims in the world are too busy trying to pay their bills, raise their kids, and put food on the table — basically, live their lives — to worry about tearing down the personal freedoms of folks on another continent.
Only those hypocritical jackasses who are enjoying the freedoms and the prosperity of Western civilization are carefree enough and protected enough (by those very freedoms) to busy themselves with ruining it for everyone else.
My vote is that we track down the unappreciative, hypocritical, culturally-treasonous killjoys and run them off the continent on a rail — preferably after a bath of hot tar and feathers…or maybe bacon.
(Mmm…bacon)

Christians would never sue over an insult to their religion…
In France, the Catholic Church sued a fashion designer over an ad that showed “designer-clad women in the place of Jesus and the apostles, one of them with her arms around a half-naked man in jeans. ‘When you trivialise the founding acts of a religion, when you touch on sacred things, you create an unbearable moral violence which is a danger to our children. Tomorrow Christ on the cross will be selling socks,’ said lawyer Thierry Massis.”
AFP, “Catholic Church sues fashion house over Last Supper advertisement,” March 10, 2005
“THE Catholic Church says it is an offensive, scurrilous insult to the Christian religion…The Catholic Church yesterday sought an injuction in the Victorian Supreme Court to ban the photograph, titled Piss Christ, from being displayed at the National Gallery of Victoria.”
“The public display of the photograph would constitute the common law misdemeanour of publishing a blasphemous libel.” -Cliff Pannam, QC, for the church
The Daily Telegraph, “Judgment day for art or blasphemy / Church sues to stop urine photo,” Oct. 9, 1997

dmann on March 25, 2008 at 2:26 PM
Christian groups will even sue when they are offended by Jerry Springer!
dave742 on March 25, 2008 at 2:32 PM
“Religion poisons everything.”
JayHaw Phrenzie on March 24, 2008 at 8:20 PM
I would add: When religions like Islam enter the political world, endanger free speech and demand that non-Muslims convert or die, everything is poisoned.
In my slightly Polly-Anna world, I like to think that religions evolve. The Catholic Church of The Crusades was poisonous as well. The problem with Islam is that it hasn’t evolved, (is bigoted, intolerant, dictatorial and violent) and it can’t (but they do!) blame that on anyone or any group aside from themselves. Just try to tell them that–they will prove the point.
Thank God for Robert Spencer.

Do I detect an anti-Christian bias by some on this blog?
Johan Klaus on March 26, 2008 at 1:30 AM
To bring up this issue in relation to Islam is OK. To bring it up in relation to Christianity constitutes “bias.” Now I understand.
dave742 on March 26, 2008 at 8:44 AM
And what issue is that dave742? That the OIC is more worried about cartoons than terrorism carried out in the name of their religion?
That’s what this Jihad Watch is about, you’re completely missing the point.
Let them sue, but first things first.
soccercheese on March 26, 2008 at 9:25 AM
soccercheese:
The OIC has many issues that they focus on. This is from their 10 year plan:
“In the intellectual and political fields, there are major issues, such as establishing the values of moderation and tolerance, combating extremism, violence and terrorism, countering Islamophobia, achieving solidarity and cooperation among Member States…”
The OIC is not “more worried about cartoons than terrorism.” It only seems that way when the only information you get about a religion and a culture is from extremists whose sole purpose it to demonize a culture in order to drum up support for invading their countries.
The top news story on the OIC website right now is how “a delegation from the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) headed by its Executive Director, Mr. Mike Smith, met with OIC senior officials on March 25, 2008 at OIC Headquarters in Jeddah and discussed cooperation on raising counter-terrorism capacities of Member States.”
I guess Jihad Watch didn’t cover that story.
