I am not going to apologize for being a Fred!head. I still feel he was the best candidate for President. His speeches on YouTube and Townhall were Reaganesque to me. His speech on the troops was one of the best speeches I’ve seen.

Like many here, I am disgusted and bitter towards the GOP. Fred! was the last and best hope for the GOP.

When Taxachusetts went to the polls on Super Tuesday I wanted to vote for Fred! but he had already dropped out by then. I wasted a vote for Mitt. In November I may throw my vote away by writing in Fred!

Hopefully, Fred! will have an opportunity to wage war upon those cut-rate shallow sheen-tastic liberal-lightweight cultural representations of what a president should be.

After all, Cultural Manipulation is what keeps the Democrats in power. Because it certainly isn’t logical reasoning. So I say we cede nothing and fight ignorance on every front, even the ones they feel comfortable and at home… namely pop culture.

I too love Fred! and was prepared to vote for him in CA’s primary. But, he could not make the sale early on to his own party– I never got the chance to vote for him.

If he can’t win any primary states, how is he to win the general? I prefer him to McCain 10 to 1, but if he can’t win, then I’ll take McCain.

To me his commercials looked affected. I think he waited as long as he did to announce as he was still getting his act down, but couldn’t polish it up in time.

Lets get a couple of things straight here;

Fred didn’t “fail” us, we failed him and ourselves. In both the near and distant future we will see his principles, values and detailed plans be proven absolutely correct in every way.

AND the Associated Press, where this story and text came from, was instrumental in swaying public opinion against Fred yet, had the public lifted a single finger to find out who he was on their own they would have learned what a fantastic president he would have made;

We have a press release that William Morris Agency has signed Fred. Nothing more. We can safely assume that Fred will entertain acting jobs amongst many options. Nothing more.

Wasn’t serving in office and then going back to work what our Founding Fathers envisioned of our leaders? From the first post and throughout the thread, there’s a whole lot of projection going on here.

Oh, “Grow-up!”
Fred gave it an honest try but could not recover from “too little too late”. The McCain machine was more than ready willing and able to win.
While the Democrats are in CHAOS, we should not forget that Sen. McCain will propose liberal legislative initiatives if he is elected President.
Nonetheless, Sen. McCain is a preferable President to either Democrat candidate who is too radical to be trusted, imho.

Ok, did I miss something that changed with the definition of being conservative.

When did it become a requirement that to be conservative you had to be a professional politician? And why would we want nothing but professional politicians?

I only started to support Fred right before the end, but if he goes back to a profession he loves I say more power to him.

My only wish is there were more people running and holding office that actually HAD another profession to go back to after serving for a while. We would have a far better government with fewer people in it who were in it as their only focus in life.

In Reagan’s case in 1976 it was a long-shot attempt at the nomination.

For Goldwater it was obliteration at the polls while being the seedbed for future conservative success.

For Fred it’s partly about taking one shot at the Presidency (I don’t expect him to run in 2012) and partly due to having two young kids.

I expect him to campaign a little for his friend John McCain and possibly radio commentaries. He’ll be much the way he was pre-Fred hype: fairly quiet.

Return to work??? You guys have this image of him as if he has his lunch pail in hand and started punching his time clock.

He signed with William Morris. Now some smarmy Jeremy Pevin type is going to try to get Fred work in commercials, or pit parts in movies or, ugh, sexually harassing to Roseanne Barr. I don’t think it is going to work. His looks have gone to hell. He is too thin and too old. He doesn’t still have “the look” for the roles for which he is type-casted.

OPEN SHOT NARROWING ON A HUDDLED FIGURE- Seen from behind against a backdrop of a glowing LCD screen a furious tapping of computer keys is heard. Suddenly the tapping stops. The figure looks up toward the ceiling, leans back in the chair with hands clasped behind head.
