Arianna: I can’t believe McCain said AQI is being trained in Iran Syria

posted at 6:55 pm on March 24, 2008 by Allahpundit

Goldfarb spots a gaffe about a gaffe: Wasn’t it Iran, not Syria, that McCain claimed was an AQI training ground before correcting himself? So it was, my friends, so it was. What are we to make of this error, which isn’t the first mistake Arianna’s made in her haste to demagogue the hell out of a Republican candidate? Typo — or profoundly significant revelation about the startling ignorance of one of the web’s power players on all matters Middle Eastern? What would the left say? Or rather, what would the left say if they weren’t desperately trying to gin up a “scandal” out of an innocent mistake to draw the media’s attention away from St. Barack’s coziness with the good Rev. Wright?

Let’s not get started on the psychology of Arianna Huffington…

Or are you suggesting that we should attack Syria now ?

Seriously, is it summer already?

Seriously, if you wanna be able to bear reading Arianna’s posts….you have to start off the first sentence of each paragraph imagining her (accent included) saying,
“This one time-at band camp…..”

She’s an idiot.

Making a scandal out of nothing.

Kini on March 24, 2008 at 7:09 PM

She was probably worried that a Factor producer would be stalking her.

Obama gave an interview to NPR last week, and according to the transcript that I read, he referred to his father as an “African American.” Obviously, his father is a foreign national and Obama misspoke, but let’s gin up a scandal about something other than the imprecision of some politicians’ words. Though, with Obama’s thin resume, he is a couple of gaffes away from being blown out.

Maybe she knows something and let it slip out. /s

I love how McCain defends Obama all the time, then McCain, makes a simples “mistake”(although, per the 9/11 commission it may not have a mistake at all) and then corrects himself and Obama jumps all over him..

Obama then, tries in the same breath to say that he’s the person , that can end divisive politics. :Rolls Eyes:

Chakra Hammer on March 24, 2008 at 7:20 PM

Assuming he said it, it doesn’t surprise me at all. If his father’s not AA, and his mother’s not, then he is all alone. That is too scary for Barry Obama. Also, how would he get you to think he was a victim and you owed him something if he didn’t say certain racial buzzwords. He didn’t misspeak. He misthought.

JiangxiDad on March 24, 2008 at 7:21 PM

How can Obama have it both ways?

He says that he can be a uniter and end divisive politics, but he bashes McCain for making a simple error(then correcting it)

McCain has recently defended Obama constantly.

Chakra Hammer on March 24, 2008 at 7:23 PM

I wonder if Arianna could find Syria or Iran on a map?

Zorro on March 24, 2008 at 7:31 PM

The question as to where AQI is being trained is so complicated, only three people in the world have ever understood it. One was Musab al-Zarqawi who is dead. The second was Arianna Huffington, a left wing blogger who went mad. John McCain was the third and he seems to have forgotten.
- Lord Palmerston (updated)

In any case while this is all going on, AQA is being trained in Dearbornistani and AQE is being trained in Londonistani.

I can’t believe Arianna preaches environmentalist while flying on private jets and driving suburbans and towncars.

I can’t believe Arianna would be such a hypocrite by paying a pittance in tax by having one of her phony foundations pick up the tab for her mortgage, utilities, clothes, makeup, etc., IOW, all her expenses so she lives like a millionaire and pays only a couple of hundred in taxes.

Blake on March 24, 2008 at 7:42 PM

Here it is again…is this like the time when Obama said the first person he was going to meet if he was elected was the “President of Canada”?

I remember when Howard Dean released a DNC statement denouncing the conservative justices for the Kelo decision, when it was the SCOTUS’s lib wing plus the swing vote that were responsible for it.

Not sure if this is off topic, but did anyone catch Neil Cavuto`s hard-core smack down of Stephanie Miller on his show today? She took a cheap and unrelated to the topc shot at Fox. He TOTALY called her on it. It was wonderful. :)

I can’t believe dogs, men, and children don’t start whining and crying when they hear Arianna’s voice.

Didn’t Huffington used to be fairly conservative several years ago? Just as Ted Turner was conservatiove many moons ago, these people are pro-capitalist when their coming up but then after they lock in most of their wealth in trust funds and the like, they all of a sudden become socialist.

Who the hell gives Airy anna any credibility anyway? This is a woman who faked a family and marriage with some rich gay guy so as to appear legitimate in her attempt to grab political power in california. Based on that experience only she has become the pivot man in the circle jerk of left wing nuts who all know they hate Joorges Boosh, but can’t coherently tell you why.

This is what happens when a “female” is scorned by his husband! When he came out of the closet it was a blow to her as a female and an authority figure. She has been bitter and hateful since that time and just keeps getting worse. The only thing about getting older, is that sooner or later you show your age, which she is doing, and except for a “Joan Rivers” do, she will always be the ugly lady, inside and out!

sharinlite on March 24, 2008 at 10:03 PM

In an interview aired on Al-Arabiya TV on January 18, 2008, former Islamic Army in Iraq leader Abu ‘Azzam Al-Tamimi said that Iran is indeed training and arming al-Qaeda in Iraq.

Essentially, McCain’s mistake was no mistake.

My husband is active duty Army and came back from Baghdad last month. He confirmed to me that Iran is helping al-Qaeda in Iraq. Essentially the friend of my enemy is my friend.

Amy Proctor on March 24, 2008 at 10:13 PM

Arianna Huffington is a Conservative… Bill Mahar featured her on his TV show Politically In-Correct as exactly that… so it must be true.

*cough* *cough*

Sorry… just choking on kool-aid.

DANEgerus on March 24, 2008 at 10:13 PM

Please don’t waste time on this woman!!!

KBird on March 24, 2008 at 10:49 PM

Ariana was a conservative in the 1990s, when she thought she could ride Michael’s millions into life as the wife of a U.S. Senator in Washington, D.C., and position herself to be the Republicans’ version of Hillary Clinton. When she screwed that up and became the female George Castanza by turning her husband gay, she wandered about for several years trying to find a new base of power and discovered that rich Hollywood celebrities like Warren Beatty will think you’re a sage and toss money at you if you stroke their egos and tell them what great political instincts they have.

But to really get in good with these people and become their ideological leader, she had to share pretty much the same ideology with the ones the most in need of ego stroking. So for Huffington, beliefs are simply something to be adjusted to fit whatever gives you the most power — in this case, the power comes being the beneficent host of all their dreck, paranoid conspiracy theories and Bush Derangement Syndrome rantings at the Huffington Post, which is basically The Daily Kos for people rich enough to periodically have their septums recaulked after excessive substance abuse.

jon1979 on March 24, 2008 at 11:01 PM

I remember when she was on the talk shows pretending to be a conservative. She was not convincing then and I told my wife that I thought that it was just a ruse.
