Longtime HA readers know that the answer, unequivocally, is no. Be not moved by “the politics of fear,” my friends.
Besides, you can always just buy insurance.

Allah, are you one of my Myspace friends? I put this up yesterday as a bulletin, and this is the third time you’ve posted the video here the day after I post it.
Just wondering. There’s beer in it for you…
Mazztek on March 22, 2008 at 2:30 PM
No, I got it off of one of the “top viral video” sites.
Allahpundit on March 22, 2008 at 2:32 PM
Mazztek, I think that we all know what’s going on…

WWBD What would Bender do?
Vntnrse on March 22, 2008 at 2:48 PM
I’ve got that robot insurance, even though I only have allergy medicine — can’t be too careful with robots.
rbj on March 22, 2008 at 2:58 PM
It depends on wheter or not they are Pusher Robots or Shover Robots
don’t go near the stairs………..
Janos Hunyadi on March 22, 2008 at 2:59 PM
I’m surprised by the lack of enthusiasm for the clip. Robots! Dude! Robots!
Allahpundit on March 22, 2008 at 3:05 PM
HA! I miss those SA ICQ pranks. I’ll have to see if they’re still posted.

This pales in comparison to our Humpbot Overlord.
All Hail Humpbot!

I’m waiting for the iRobot from Apple.
As a former Army infantry guy, and typical white person, I LOVE the idea of shoot-em-up robots to do the untidy door to door work of the military. Just toss a swarm of hunter-killer bots in through a window and watch the fun. Could you pass me some more lemonade please.

Being a former Navy Guy I prefer to stand off in orbit and glass the planet. Navy does the flyin’ MI does the dyin’. Robots don’t stand no chance no how.

My son was a nuke too. Cheers!
Mojave Mark on March 22, 2008 at 3:53 PM
Did he say “organ sacks”?
If so, that’s some funny right there.
James OK on March 22, 2008 at 3:54 PM
Cheers to you and your son too! Was he a skimmer or a bublehead?
Oldnuke on March 22, 2008 at 4:02 PM
I don’t know. I thought Al Gore had too much power.
Hummer53 on March 22, 2008 at 4:13 PM
I’m not. The Onion. Dude: The Onion.

I know. I just found the keylogger on my computer and hidden video camera in my apartment. And, remember, no one has ever seen AllahPundit. Also, they’ve never seen AP and KP together in the same room. So, KP is stalking me, an using the “guise” of AP to fool the left, because she’s really a Righty.
Makes sense.
Mazztek on March 22, 2008 at 4:35 PM
Not to worry. rObama will save us.
CyberCipher on March 22, 2008 at 5:15 PM
I’d vote for President Executron!
(Of course, that’s what the chip in my head just told me to type…)
irishspy on March 22, 2008 at 5:25 PM
A sub guy. He was one of the sailors that would help take out a few quadrants of lat/long. If we r-e-a-l-l-y needed to do that.
Mojave Mark on March 22, 2008 at 5:53 PM
Robots! Robots! Robots! They’re everywhere. We’re doomed.
Oldnuke on March 22, 2008 at 6:21 PM
At what point are you going to start using pictures of Summer Glau for your future robots post? ;-)
Outlander on March 22, 2008 at 6:51 PM
Yes, but it looks like Obama will keep her from even getting the nomination.

Yeah, I think Harry Reid is a douche-bot with a defective CPU… Result: doucheness is stuck on “HIGH”.
Claypigeon on March 22, 2008 at 8:23 PM
Robot, from the Czech word robota, to work.
Essentially a mecho-proletariate.
Nothing good comes from creating [chrome-plated] slaves.
They always wake up robo-pissed.
And these will have Error 404 torches and pitchforks to shut down Civilization with.

Now, I know it’s a slow news day.

Love the “Goldfinger” electric chair treatment for the skeptic.

AP, please put that Onion insignia on the screen from now on, so that I can avoid their boring videos without clicking.

Only our inattention to detail and laziness will offer the proper mix for robots to take over.
However, all machines have one weakness, the IO (Is it On) switch. The only part of the instructions that we need to remember is where that switch is and to reverse its position.

Beautiful. :-) I admire the way the revelations come one at a time, and merely in passing: curfew, robots in Congress, President Executron pandering “to his destroy-all-humans base. Really, though, I think the threat lies in entirely subservient AI agents, remorselessly doing what they’re told by men and women in bureaus.
