Does Hillary attend her committee meetings?

That’s the question John McCain must be asking himself after hearing a strange assertion from Bill Clinton about Hillary Clinton’s qualifications. Bragging that “the girl” has more former military commanders endorsing her than anyone else, Bill said that her unique experience among all of the candidates on the Senate Armed Services Committee made the difference. If so, the commanders must be as bad at research as Bill, because McCain has served on that committee since before Bill and Hillary ever came to Washington:
He continued to highlight the military issue later in Cary, accentuating his wife’s gender to emphasize his point that more generals have endorsed Clinton than both Obama and Republican candidate John McCain.
“You might wonder why that’s so: Why did they endorse the girl for president? All these generals?” Clinton said.
He said that’s partially because she’s the only member of the Armed Services Committee in the race and also because of her support for wounded veterans.
Er … what? A quick check of the ASC committee page on the Senate website to prove Clinton wrong. At the top of the column of Republicans sits John McCain, ranking member on the Committee. According to Wikipedia, he’s been there since 1987, or about four times as long as Hillary, who joined the committee in 2003.
It’s going to be hard for Bill to claim that he wasn’t aware of McCain’s presence on that committee. McCain served on the ASC every year Bill Clinton was President. Hillary supposedly attends the committee meetings, for that matter. If she never noticed that McCain sat at the same table she did, it’s fair to ask what else went over her head at the meetings.
Are the Clintons making this up as they go along? Were their lies always this threadbare, as with Hillary’s claims of facing down deadly danger on her USO trip to Tuzla in 1996? The Democratic race appears to have descended into a contest to find the least-worst option, and both candidates are working hard to lose that contest.

It has got to be an absolute nightmare for The Fabulous Flyin’, Lyin’ Clintons to be factchecked on a second-by-second basis.
I mean, it’s just about all they have to go on these days. To be debunked every time one of them opens the ol’ piehole has got to be embarrassing and exhausting.
Plus, there has to be a list of the serial lies somewhere. Rolled out for the general election, she hasn’t got a prayer.

Reality is what you make it. And the Clintons are two of the hardest workin people in the universe in that department.
They re-create it every second of every day.

If the dudes lips are a moving, lies are a flying… Terminal dishonesty is a dynamic by which the beholder has a brain that starts creating the lie within the first (5) words coming his/her way. Bill Clinton has it bad, Ms. Clinton has it bad; difference being that Bill used to deliver the lie much better than Ms. Clinton. Now a days, you can’t tell the difference between the two of them; their delivery is old and tiring.
Rush was right once again; keeping Ms. Clinton in the race for as long as possible reveals the truth about the Clinton’s, reveals the truth about Bill’s tenure, reveals the truth about the racism within the Democrat Party ranks, reveals the truth about the DNC and their quest to control the vote through government welfare programs. So much has been/will be coming from Operation Chaos.
Keemo on March 22, 2008 at 8:52 AM
Oh I don’t know – BJ probably checked out his audience and determined that the lie would fly. He figured it wasn’t like they were going to go home and log on, you know. The MSM write-up proves his tactical prowess.

How come most of the ‘military commanders’ backing Herself are all “perfumed princes” like the incompetent Weasley Clark? They are beholden to Slick Willie Clinton for their rank
GeneSmith on March 22, 2008 at 9:17 AM
It is all within the context of this very spirited primary RACE. Bill doesn’t really want to enGENDER anomosity amongst the ranks. What he meant was that Heillary was the longest serving WHITE FEMALE on the committee. You folks just don’t get it do you. If you understood Clintonspeak we wouldn’t be here this morning.
JonRoss on March 22, 2008 at 9:17 AM
Bill lies so much that he simply doesn’t know he’s lying anymore. As for generals . . . their shinning example is that weasel, Clark. Sometimes it appears that the Clintons live in some parallel universe.

MamaAJ on March 22, 2008 at 9:37 AM
It’s a sad situation because they, each separately, lie and then believe whatever lies they have told. So they construct, day-by-day, whatever universe sounds good at the time and furthers the current objective. He is quite good at it; she is very clunky. The sadness come in that they actually have followers who swallow this.
LaMonte on March 22, 2008 at 9:38 AM
Ed- While you are discussing this, I was hoping you or your readers caught footage of McCain refusing(on camera) to speak about his campaign while on official business with his committee, in Iraq and all the other areas they visited..Brit Hume’s show showed it last night with a story of the other campaigns crying foul..

If I may offer a plausible explanation here, I think BillyJeff was only referring to Obama. If you take away the commentary and only have BJ’s quotes from the article you get this:
“This whole thing could come down to what you all decide to do in North Carolina,” Clinton said to a round of applause. “This is a state which is very much involved in all the promise and all the peril that’s going on in the American economy.”
“You might wonder why that’s so: Why did they endorse the girl for president? All these generals?” Clinton said.
I need a transcript of just what BJ said to see if the article’s description of it is indeed accurate.

I think that stroke hurt Bill Clinton a lot worse than he lets on. He used to be the brains of the Democrat Party; and by that I don’t mean just the smartest, but the ONLY ONE who seemed to have a head on his shoulders at all.
Since the stroke, Bill Clinton is still sharper than the average liberal. But he’s nothing like he used to be.
logis on March 22, 2008 at 10:14 AM
The strokes are news to me. The only strokes I remember Bill having are ones he received from Monica.

No relationship with the therapy, thank God…
I had the misfortune of being a guy with the name of Kim. My father was off doing war when I was born; I was supposed to be a girl, and my parents only had the name of Kimberly picked out. My Mom (afraid to risk naming me without my fathers permission) upon having the task of naming me, simply dropped the berly and stuck me with the name Kim. By the time I reached high school, I already had my nose broken (7) times from defending my manhood with such a name. By the time I reached the age where I could play team sports, my coaches knew I needed a nickname; therefore the Keemo tag was created to prevent me from fighting with my team mates. In that era, there was a television show on called “the lone ranger” if my memory serves me well; one of the leading characters in that show was called kimo-sabe (spelling?). I always assumed that my coaches named me after this character. To this day, my family members refer to me as Keemo rather than Kim. My workmates refer to me as Kimmer rather than Keemo; not that I ever got over being named Kim. Almost nobody in my life refers to me as Kim. Think I have any issues???? (:
I once asked my Mom “how can a boy (in the era of John Wayne) be named Kim and not get in a fist fight at least once a week”. My parents couldn’t understand why I kept getting into trouble for fighting at school.
I concur Jon; God Bless America!!!! God Bless our troops!!!

Keemo good to hear it is nothing medical. And believe it or not you just wrote my life story. Right down to the fist fights. I am also a guy and my given name and the one I go buy in “real life” is Lynn. There are a few of us but I have had to defend it my entire life almost like you described your events. Strange thing is my dad named me after a guy who was a shipmate of his on his gunship in WWII. Lynn was not a “man” name in the part of the country I came from. However I think I have done o.k. and am finally putting it behind me. I raised a son who is now a USMC officer. Active duty with two Iraq combat deployments under his belt. I wanted a generic “man” name for him so he got “Matthew”.

BJ Clinton also seems to be lying about the numbers of retired generals and admirals. The story says “more generals have endorsed Clinton than both Obama and Republican candidate John McCain.”
Well, a cursory glance at her website, and another at the McCain website shows approximately 30 for Her Royal Clinton, and approximately 100 for Maverick.
How will BJ ’splain’ that one?
Wagging finger, turning red “I said generals, you have intentionally misrepresented what I said to include Admirals”
Ok Billy Jeff, even if you count generals your claim doesn’t pan out.
McCain’s kicking yer but in endorsements

Yes they were, but the MSM never called them on it and the GOP is stupid to bring it up and call them on it! You won’t see it in this election and the GOP will lose whatever hold they have in the Senate this year because they are all gutless wonders!

Actually, that is what Tonto called the Lone Ranger.
He was speaking to senior citizens at a senior citizen center. And since the biased AP contrinuted to the write-up of the story, that’s all you need to know.

Interesting thread regarding manly names.. I grew up in Wyoming and went to the same Hi school as Cheney…NCHS..70 yrs old this yr and Male…..Named after a beloved uncle Gail….Also many stories in my life, but what doesn’t kill you make you stronger. Back to the point about lies…It’s these daily and seemingly harmless ones that do the most damage as they are thought of as a tarnish on character and there are few reasons to expend the energy to correct or confront..Yet, these little fabrications are filed away and continue to pile up in our permanent memories..These are the ones we use to define the most egregious perpetrators, such as the Clintons..These lies do more damage than making a disastrous decision or an error in judgment which can be forgiven.. Not so with the “little white lie” (no pun, given the environment…intended)

These 2 scums of the earth know exactly what it takes to fool people everyday. They know how big a lie they can get away with. They know how to promise everything and deliver nothing and blame someone else and then take credit. Even their friends do not wonder how easily they can lie. I hope by August these 2 will vanish, politically, forever !!!

Time Magazine wrote, “Both Clintons have made the case to potential fund-raisers that the U.S. will probably suffer a terrorist attack on the scale of 9/11 after the next President is sworn in — and that Hillary is the only Democratic candidate capable of handling such a crisis because of her Senate Armed Services Committee tenure and her years in the White House.”
What a load of crap. The Donks tried to blame Bush for 9/11, even though Billary had 6+ years after the first WTC. So they WON’T be to blame if we do get another attack?
How do these people keep a straight face? How do they sleep at night? And what about their supporters?
Just the fact that Hillary and Obamessiah are candidates spells DOOM for this country.
And half the country doesn’t care.
