Chris Wallace joins Fox & Friends today to scold his colleagues over what he says is excessive Obama-bashing. The morning show spent two hours going over the clip in which Barack Obama calls his grandmother a “typical white person” — and in defending themselves, the hosts mention the fact that they played it three times in that span:
I’m with Chris Wallace on this one. Obama’s comment was newsworthy, and deserves significant airplay. Making it the focus of a two-hour block of time? I’d say few news stories outside of terrorist attacks deserve that kind of wall-to-wall coverage.
Update (AP): Obama congratulates Wallace on not getting sidetracked on America’s long march towards a thoughtful discussion of race, which of course only began for Obama himself when Fox News started playing the clips of Wright and forced him to say something about it.

Chris just wants his interviews

Good call Chris Wallace.
Its like the Britney Spears feeding frenzy… happens all the time on Fox where they WAY overdo a single story, to the exclusion of everything else going on.
Romeo13 on March 21, 2008 at 11:20 AM
It’s ok with Chris Wallace that Obama thinks we “typical white people” have racism “bred” into us. I for one resent the remark. I also seem to remember a politician using the word “macaca” a while back, did that get a lot of airplay? How did the “macaca” remark turn out for that other politician? Was it played over and over and over, or am I just a typical white person with a bad memory bred into me? (Answer the question fox news!)
JustTruth101 on March 21, 2008 at 11:21 AM
Chris Wallace is one of the few reporters who managed to get under Bubba Billy’s skin and make him throw a full blown hissy fit live on the air, and Chris is not afraid to speak it like it is. But then again, he was well taught by his father. I am with Chris on this one. I can see maybe spending a couple minutes covering what B.O. was blathering, but two hours? Come on!
pilamaye on March 21, 2008 at 11:21 AM
You forgot Britney Spears.
Spirit of 1776 on March 21, 2008 at 11:22 AM
Uh, it’s not just FoxNews… how many posts has HotAir made about Obama and Wright in the past week?

Heh. Romeo13 was one step ahead of me!
Spirit of 1776 on March 21, 2008 at 11:22 AM
I agree with Chris Wallace.
I’m a typical white person - and did not take offense to Obama’s comment.
Relax fellow white folks.
jake-the-goose on March 21, 2008 at 11:24 AM
Sorry Ed, your wrong. I watched both F&F & CNN as I have 2 TVs. CNN ran pretty much the same stuff in their morning segments featuring the “typical white person” line with critical commentary. Chris’ left leaning genes were feeling the same leg responses that Chris Matthews has been experiencing. I’m not going to let the liberal guilt bargainers shut the news down. What ever happened to you report, we decide? Both Wallace and you are out of line to not let the story play itself out, if that is what the public wants. Censoring for PC sake is dangerous.
wepeople on March 21, 2008 at 11:25 AM
Blogs, such as this one, do news saturation. If you look on the front page there are both the CIA passport story and the Richardson VP story at the top of the top picks. In other words, what Chris was saying should be covered on air, is in fact, being covered here. It is not one to the exclusion of the other. That’s the beauty of blogs…plus you only have to read what you want to read.
Spirit of 1776 on March 21, 2008 at 11:25 AM
Chris was on the radio this morning and mentioned something about this. I respect Chris and find him refreshing.

And yet we’ve had it (not only on Fox) with Paris Hilton, Anna Nicole Smith, Britney Spears, countless Republican mistakes, the Spitzer scandal, and so much more.

Unfortunately thats what this election year is all about. Race, Gender, Religion, aka Mitt.
Legions on March 21, 2008 at 11:31 AM
If viewers are interested in a story, does that not make it newsworthy? Why should the reporters decide what is/is not news and limit our exposure to it?
Blake on March 21, 2008 at 11:32 AM
I agree with Spirit of 1776. You see a story, you click on the link. There are several stories on HotAir that I don’t click on.
And by the way, did you count the number of times the Rodney King video was played over and over in 1991 and 1992? We all have different definitions about what is ‘too much’ and what is just right. I have clicked on the Obama/Wright stories because they interest me.
On left leaning blogs, they have clicked on articles about how John McCain is too old, or how he supposedly does not know the difference between Sunni and Shia. And they have ignored the stories about Obama claiming that ten thousand people died in a storm where an entire town was destroyed.
I’d rather spend my time on sites like this because this interests me. HotAir for the most part links to stories that I want to read.

(Some commenter last night)
Ha. Yeah, I noticed that too. BREAKING NEWS!
Allahpundit on March 20, 2008 at 9:29 PM
It’s not “if they can do it we can do it too.” It’s they will fight to win, and we will be polite. With the liberal bias and control over the msm , I don’t think our side exposing supposed bias at FOX is helpful.
JiangxiDad on March 21, 2008 at 11:33 AM
I know. Better we should concentrate on really important things like all the policy differences(?) between Hillary and Obama, so posters can make an informed voting choice on which Democrat would best lead the country. All this business about race and gender issues is just something conjured up by mean spirited HA management.
a capella on March 21, 2008 at 11:36 AM
Not true. It depends on what else is in the news on that particular day. Floods in the Midwest — boring. Fox has the best ratings. Thus, the Fox programmers must know what is news worthy.

Racism is racism.
BHO got caught. Now he must take his Imus-ing like a man.
Sammy316 on March 21, 2008 at 11:37 AM
I would have to agree with Chris Wallace on this. The Fox and Friends crew have really bad habit of dumbing down the news to point that you can’t stand to listen to them anymore. But to go on and on about what Obama said doesn’t make them look fair and balanced, it just makes them look stupid.
Well Brian doesn’t need to try to hard to sound dumb.
Lance Murdock on March 21, 2008 at 11:39 AM
If Obama were a white man who attended a white-supremacist church and claimed that his “racist” grandmother was a “typical black woman”, not only would he no longer be a Presidential candidate, he would have be drummed out of the Senate. So why does this bigot get a pass to continue on the campaign trail?!? Probably because the liberal media ran to his defense. Hypocrisy! I personally don’t think it got ENOUGH coverage by the media.
davenp35 on March 21, 2008 at 11:40 AM
Isn’t this the same guy created a “Obama Watch Clock” on his show last Sunday, calling out, Obama for not appearing on his show? Isn’t that a tad juvenile? Smacks of an Olbermann like gimmick and he’s calling out Fox & Friends for not conflating the State Department story and flogging some good red meat topic like Obama and race? Unless anyone else hasn’t noticed, it’s not like these cable nets are doing anything other than talk radio these days replete with “news” people doing opinion “news.” I’m not judging that, it’s fine with me but don’t get all high and mighty when it conflicts with your desire to land an interview.
AYNBLAND on March 21, 2008 at 11:40 AM
What amazes me, and in all honesty, impresses me, is how un-jaded man of us have suddenly become concerning the Press and how it covers things. I don’t know about the rest of you but after eight years of MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, Jay Leno, SNL, and Letterman beating dead horse after dead horse about things like flight suits, pretzel choking, Vallery Plame, Bush’s alcoholism, forged documents, invented stories by Jason Blair, not apologizing for mistakes in Iraq, and on and on and on, two weeks of hyperventilating over Obama’s racist pastor has seemed somewhat laid back and muted. This is why I was so surprised that many here thought it was just outrageous that the NYT did an hit piece that lacked any source on McCain. It’s the Times! Has Chris Wallace just realized the 24/7 cable news format relies on telling news 24/7? That “news” can be made up, old, invented, hyperbolic, and tedious, just as long as they keep talking. So this whole, “Shucks, we have really been beating on Obama for too long, we’d better lay off.” Where the heck was that attitude for the last eight years? Anyway, good for you who have remained un-callous, I have not remained so.
Weight of Glory on March 21, 2008 at 11:41 AM
It was clearly a racist remark. Words have meaning and what he said is that typically white people have racist reactions to black people. Or, basically that the typical white person is racist.
I am not surprised to hear this come for Wallace, he is a typical Wallace type or journalist.
Foxnews could have spent some time on how Obama’s church news paper published Hamas terrorist propaganda.
Why all these folks want to give Obama a pass for his clear embracing of racism and bigoty and and hate speech is beyond me. It is, in my opinion, just more racism.
georgealbert on March 21, 2008 at 11:42 AM
I like Chris Wallace, but he’s way off base here. If a white presidential candidate used the phrase “typical black person” — particularly when discussing a negative behavioral characteristic — he/she would be dead on arrival, and quite frankly, Barack Obama would be leading the charge for that person to “step down immediately.” The double standard here is absolutely stunning. If any ONE of these racist episodes in Obama’s campaign had happened to a white candidate in the reverse, he would be done, over, toast, period. And again, Obama the candidate would be making hay of it ad nauseam. This “dialogue on race” we’re having is cementing the despicable notion that white people should never discuss race at all, while blacks can go after whites, Jews, and others with the most egregious stereotypes, and the media will fawn over their “courageous” discourse. It’s not courageous, it’s racist. And when a democrat frontrunner for the office of President of the United States makes a racist gaffe that reveals deep-seated hatred for people based on the color of their skin, well it’s worth at least 2 hours on a morning news show.
Rational Thought on March 21, 2008 at 11:42 AM

dinasour on March 21, 2008 at 11:44 AM
Good for Chris Wallace, as high class as McCain.
The phony Black Panthers story on Fox was another mistake they are regretting, and this is a network that claims no bias.
Lies and smears are lies and smears, whether delivered by Olby or Kilmead.
Bottomline, it’s ignorance in action, only hurts the network.
Obama = the new Britney, I bet she’s happy she’s no longer the one getting smeared and bashed.
AprilOrit on March 21, 2008 at 11:44 AM
Cable news shows on weekends and holidays(Good Friday) are horrid. They don’t have any major breaking stories so they just rewind the same issues over and over and over. You pound something constantly I think you risk backlash.
Hummer53 on March 21, 2008 at 11:44 AM
Well done.
I wish I could have pointed this out as well as you.
wise_man on March 21, 2008 at 11:45 AM
I saw this this morning, and I thought Wallace was a little bit too critical. At first he said he had watched them for the full two hours or whatever it was…then he said he watched them inbetween whatever else he was doing. He accused them of not reading the whole quote, they said they had read the whole quote each time. And I think that Brian had even been the dissenting voice, saying that it wasn’t that big of a deal. But, Wallace hadn’t seen that.
It was kind of weird - though interesting as it goes against the meme that Fox News is in the tank for Republicans, reciting talking points word for word. There was genuine disagreement among both the three F&F anchors, and with Wallace.
nailinmyeye on March 21, 2008 at 11:46 AM
I agree also that Fox has over played this story and neglected reporting on the real things happening in the country.

These people need to fill up time.
I can’t tolerate even watching cable news (even Fox), so I can just imagine how unnerving it is to participate in one.
They have my sympathies.
NoDonkey on March 21, 2008 at 11:47 AM
Also, folks, this is really the first time Obama hasn’t benefited from a news cycle, since he announced he was running! And are we now willing to start self-flagellation?
Weight of Glory on March 21, 2008 at 11:47 AM
The Black Panthers story on Fox was not ‘phony,’ AprilOrit.
First, they had no control over their website, and then the page was redacted. It’s not like Obama and the Black Panthers are conducting joint press conferences, but that page was there. This was shown on Fox, and not on Olby. And Fox is “Fair and Balanced,” and with less bias than “Countdown” and many other left-leaning ‘news’ outlets.

It appears as if some of the bloggers here have bought into the “bargainers” and are feeling a twinge of liberal white guilt. Ed, shame on you for jumping on Chris’ bandwagon. Like someone else pointed out, Chris seemed offended to the point he started the “Obama Watch”. So now that people are watching, he scolds them. Something smells with him. Don’t you all at HA get caught in the bargainers guilt syndrome!
wepeople on March 21, 2008 at 11:50 AM
I don’t really think Fox news wants to demean itself further, they look silly as it is. I would have to see valid proof of the hamas link at this point, because all this other crap circulating on Fox is just not true.
Spreading rumors about anyone is a smear.
AprilOrit on March 21, 2008 at 11:51 AM
I agree with Wallace. I am sort of over the Obama/Wright/Grandma thing… I get it. Point made! Never mind Fox & Friends; I can turn on Hannity at any given point in time and I can bet he’s going to be reciting “God-Damn America” for the 9000th time.
D2Boston on March 21, 2008 at 11:51 AM
This is just the tabloidization of news. It affects almost every news outlet, but Fox is the worst.

Buddahpundit on March 21, 2008 at 11:57 AM
Hannity has lost it and all credibility circulating the untruths about his church already.
I included the link above, then the Black Panthers Story which made the conservative blogosphere look utterly ridiculous. Not only was the story not vetted, the bloggers made themselves appear stupid when it comes to the mechanics of public profiles on a blog.
Anyone can set up a profile like that, I mean jeez.
If you have to lie and smear to win forget it.
AprilOrit on March 21, 2008 at 11:57 AM
Do the powers that be at FOX hand out memos that say things like “Fox & Friends is to bash Obama for 2 hours, at which point, we’ll have Chris Wallace come in to spank them so we can prove we’re fair and balanced?”
Connie on March 21, 2008 at 11:58 AM
Calling someone you do not know a nappy headed whore as opposed to saying typical white person is a stretch.
If someone called me a typical jew, I would say thank you.
If they called me a hook-nosed kike or even a typical kike, I wouldn’t be so thankful.
AprilOrit on March 21, 2008 at 12:00 PM
Chris Wallace is only slighlty better than his old man - I’ve just scratched his Sunday morning show off of my list of must see fare. I saw this happen on this morning’s Fox & Friends - if I werer Roger Ailes, I’d fire Chris by end of day. His comments were off the mark and he’s bought into the messiah crap, might as well co-host on Hard Ball,.
Onager on March 21, 2008 at 12:00 PM
All of the 24 hour news channels tend to beat the dead horse.
Breaking News - Anna Nicole’s Body is moved!!!! Brittney Bald!!! etc…
I do think it is huge news that the leading Democrat candidate for President of the United States is stereo typing white people. If a white candidate said “typical black person” they’d be finished.
You also have to understand most people don’t watch the entire 2 hours. I catch about 30 minutes in the morning getting ready for work. That’s why they re-cycle the stories on the half hour.
roux on March 21, 2008 at 12:01 PM
Roger Ailes should be fired by Rupert for allowing the smears to go through unfettered.
Why so much anger? If CNN or MSNBC did this to McCain you would be singing a different tune. And when the Times did it the networks did not pile on.
AprilOrit on March 21, 2008 at 12:04 PM
Hey, criticism due where its due. I’m glad to see Fox doing that, it keeps them honest. You’ll never see Chris MAthews tell Olberman that maybe he should balance his show out a little.
AbaddonsReign on March 21, 2008 at 12:04 PM
Actually, the example you provide demonstrates even more powerfully how dangerously racist Obama’s views are. In your second case, you know you are dealing with a dirtbag racist. Enough said. Over and done. But in Obama’s case, his racism is all wrapped up in pretty rhetoric, so as to sound reasonable, even learned. He’s just as much a raging racist, but it might get by a whole lotta folks in the way your second example won’t.
Rational Thought on March 21, 2008 at 12:05 PM

Not at all. There are plenty of comments that Imus could have made on his radio show that included the words “typical black person” that would have got him in a lot more trouble than the silly “nappy headed ho” comment.

Get specific or shut up. Chain emails debunked on snopes do not count.
ninjapirate on March 21, 2008 at 12:07 PM
Exactly, why should Fox put a cloud over their reputation, and start to show blantnat bias, when they have spent years marketing the opposite?
Sean Hannity has single handedly been sabatoging the network for quite some time.
Reasonable people will start turning on regular prime time and just stop watching like they have done to CNN and the other one.

If a conservative white person makes a sensitive comment it’s on the air for days or weeks, Shartpon and Jackson make appearances and someone eventually loses a job. Yet on the other end of the spectrum there is criticism because we are simply talking about a comment too much? How far can this double standard go?
Give me a friggin’ break… until Obama disassociates himself from his friend, advisor and reverend, or until he is out of the race, anything he says, does, moves, scratches or sneezes is fair game.

Yep, LGF has more on the New Black Panthers group page on Barack Obama’s site HERE.
Also, with regards to Rev Wright and his racist Church supporting Hamas, that has also been proven quite true as they reprinted a Hamas terrorist’s article in their Church bulletin last year.
I suggest people such as AprilOrit keep up with the news and go to places such as Sweetness & Light (whose Steven Gilbert has had all this info for the past YEAR and has been the first to report all this stuff for months now) to get the latest Obama news that the mass media is trying to cover up.

Blah lah Blah, Chris is way off.
If the shoe were on the other foot, they would run a white Republican Presidential candidate right out of town for a comment such as the one Obama made. The leftist puke bloggers, radio shows and every main stream news channel would ground and pound it for weeks.
Obama deserves everything he is getting. If he wants to make race an issue in his campaign, he needs to be ready to handle what comes with that.
What Obama said was wrong period. I pray he gets no where near the White House.

The AIDS story began in the gay community in the 80s. Many gay people believed it was created by Reagan in a lab at Fort Meade, these stories have circulated for years.
Ask Andrew Sullivan, he’s well aware of the gay panic rumors.
There is also the story that it was started in Africa by a witch doctor to punish an enemy tribe. Then there is the story about them eating green monkey meat.
These stories have been around for years, most of them originated in the gay community during the early days of ACT UP and the original Basis Project in California.
AprilOrit on March 21, 2008 at 12:32 PM
they can run this story 24 /7 for the next month and it would only make a small dent compared to the deafening non coverage of any and all stories that would put the messiah in a
blackbad light .Nobama talks out the side of his neck, he rails against nafta one minute but tells Canada he is only talking because of a campaign, he claims to be a bridge between the right and left but we see he is full of BS on that as he spends the last 20 years under his racist mentor /pastor. He says he wants to bring hope and change but we see he is just as dirty as every other politician with his ties to rezko. He panders to illegal’s constantly to win the Latino vote but expe3cts the white guilt vote to be a given and if your white and you aren’t for nobama your racist. He throws his white grandmother under the bus to defend the actions of his black racist mentor. This tool needs to be placed under a microscope and vetted. he is an idiot when it comes to national defense he is an even bigger idiot when it comes to immigration he is a complete socialist when it comes to taxes and entitlements and until he gets asked the tough questions this is just the begging of the un raveling of the shining light that is known as the messiah BHO.

Obama’s political career is over, or should be anyway. Don’t be surprised if this story continues to receive a heavy dose of coverage until that eventuality occurs, although two hours on one video clip does seem excessive. If Obama survives it will only be on account of the preponderance of liberals in the MSM leaping to his rescue and people who, for whatever reason, don’t consider racism to be a disqualifying factor in a presidential candidate, even in 2008.
I’m a “post-racial” white and I wouldn’t vote for a brilliant, charismatic white politician who was otherwise totally simpatico with my political views knowing that he’s attended a white-supremacists, anti-American church for the past 20 years, even if he left the church and condemned it in the midst of a scandal during his campaign for the White House. The politician could cry about how he doesn’t agree with everything his racist pastor has said, (in spite of the fact that he justifies his pastors racism), and still I wouldn’t vote for him in a million years or for a million dollars.
The only conditions under which I can imagine voting for a white politician who has attended a racist church for years is if he was a reporter or an officer of the law who has been investigating the church undercover for the purposes of exposing it. Other than that I would have to err on the side of caution and assume, in spite of the politicians protestations to the contrary, that he was sympathetic to the views expressed in the white-supremacist church he attended.
FloatingRock on March 21, 2008 at 12:36 PM
Yes he did, he attended a racist, anti-Semitic, anti-American church for 20 years, and still does.
FloatingRock on March 21, 2008 at 12:38 PM
Smears? I watched messiah’s speech live, listened to his “typical white …” interview and F&F smeared no one but were rightly indignant for the pass being given the messiah for saying something that would bring out the thought police in hordes were anyone else to say it.
Anger? get over it - it is indignation from a typical white guy - and I meant what I said, Wallace just lost audience share.
Onager on March 21, 2008 at 12:38 PM
Really? He’s been talking about “making history” since he announced his candidacy. The only “history” he would make in his Presidential campaign and victory is about his race.
Also, remember that he is a politician. His strategy in this campaign was to talk about “hope” and “change” and not talk about race. That doesn’t mean that he isn’t a racist. Anyone who read his books or looked into his background can tell that he is a racist.
The fact that his campaign strategy has not included racism does not exempt him from being racist.
Michael in MI on March 21, 2008 at 12:38 PM
Whether or not the leading Democrat candidate is a racist is newsworthy. To me, this two hours might not have been especially informative, but definitely warranted. (Even more so considering the
load of bull, propaganda, news stories the MSM has done about BHO for the last 8 months.)There was a reason he said “white woman” and not just woman.

Just to clarify, Shelby Steele’s concept of ‘bargainer’ is a black person who let’s white people “off the hook” for racism–real or perceived, historical or contemporaneous–in exchange for not having race “held against” him/her. Therefore the idea of a “bargainer’s guilt syndrome” makes no sense.
From what I know of both Black Liberation Theology and Nation of Islam lore, the former strikes me as the progeny of the latter. And Farrakhan didn’t make up NOI lore; Elijah Muhammad did.

Yes, it isn’t that Obama’s “typical white” comment isn’t newsworthy - it is very much so, and as vulgar as a “typical black” equivalent - but wall-to-wall for two hours in the morning? Yet more evidence that the FNC morning bimbos & himbos are all out of ideas.
Fox & Friends is deserving of the axe. Utter shite.
LimeyGeek on March 21, 2008 at 12:46 PM
The double standard here is off the charts. If Rush or W or Michelle Malkin or John McCain said/wrote a “typical black person has certain attitudes bred into them” the nuclear explosion of coverage would be 24 hour, wall-to-wall non-stop wailing and gnashing of teeth.
The REAL problem is that Obama is revealing his real attitude toward white people. He was comfortable in his church and he believes that typical white people have racist attitudes bred into them. From the heart the mouth overflows. All you gotta do is listen.

Exactly. Well stated.
It seems there are a lot of white guilt people who post here at HotAir as some people here are missing this simple concept and are falling for Barack Obama’s con game.

I don’t know about your’s but my TV comes with a handy channel changing device - that is how I avoid CNN, MSNBC.

So am I suppose to deny that being the first mulatto POTUS would not make the history books? I mean what do you want me to say, that’s kind of a given.
I mean you set up an arguement that cannot be argued.
I do not neccessarily feel he should be burned at the stake for that.
I saw the bulltin, I will have to read over it.
Just because Daniel Pipes says something doesn’t make me pile on the Muslim panic wagaon carrying torches looking for the next monster. He has been known to disguise his hate from muslims behind a veil of respect many many times.
I tend not to walk in lockstep like most, it’s just not my nature. I am also a New Yorker, so I am not easily sold on veiled bigotry.

I also saw the whole incident this morning. Chris should have spoken with them about it later rather than giving them a public chastizing; it made him appear unprofessional. The reason it went on so long is that there was disagreement among the three hosts. If three people are debating three different view points, that seems pretty fair and balanced. It’s up to the viewers to decide who they think made the better case. Nailinmyeye is right; when Wallace said he had been watching, he really hadn’t as Kilmeade pointed out that they had read the statement in its entirety three times and he was dissenting. Wallace is supposed to get the facts before making a judgement; he clearly had not.

Three or Four hours of Morning Show means 20 minutes of “news” played on an endless loop.
This is not new nor news.

Let’s see in comparison to the fire storm in the media when Trent Lott praised Strom Thurman at his 100 birthday party to the msm trying to sweep this under the rug to protect their new golden boy.
And nobamas campaign has always been about race such as if you question his potions your somehow questioning it because he is black.

I have posted a link to this before, but maybe people are still not aware of it: The Obama File

Thanks for the tip.
I enjoy much of the FNC content. I just wish they’d trash the brain-dead morning show and replace it with yet more quality news coverage.
LimeyGeek on March 21, 2008 at 12:56 PM
When I started watching them years ago I thought Ducey and Kilmeade were gay, and they were hilarious the way they played off of each other.
I thought the joke line was great, Ducey was the girlier of the two and he was always fliting with the unobtainable Kilmeade.
Then I found out they were not gay.

Yes, he is a snake-oil salesman indeed.
LimeyGeek on March 21, 2008 at 12:58 PM
Who said anything about Daniel Pipes? I don’t get any of my info on Obama from Daniel Pipes. And who’s talking about Obama and Muslims? I’m talking about him being a racist who subscribes to Black Liberation Theology, which places the blame for all the ills of the Black community on White America.
And no one is asking you to “walk lock step”, I am simply asking you to acknowledge facts about the man (Obama).
And I didn’t realize that pointing out facts of the man’s background and ideology is now considered “bigotry”. Good to know.

Let’s see in comparison to the fire storm in the media when
I never agreed with theat, thought the Republicans that did were foolish, it was obvious what Trent Lott meant.
He should have never agreed to step down, he should have stuck to his guns.

The over-exposure is only percieved by those of us who are actually tuned in to the whole show from start to finish.
But typical morning viewers (white or otherwise) are usually only watching the news in passing while they get ready for work, and they will probably only hear this story once. And since this show only runs once between 6-9AM Eastern, half the country is probably sleeping through it anyway.
The “news junky” crowd is not really large enough to warrant hard news and in depth analysis before breakfast. These programs are trying to get as many viewers as possible every quarter of an hour. So you can bet your Nielsen rating they’re going to run with the scandal o’ the day every 15 minutes.
Cheesestick on March 21, 2008 at 1:01 PM
They emphasised it by jamming various podunk ‘beauty queens’ between them.
Doocey is a fairy and Kilmeade is one of the lamest metrosexual wannabe-jocks I’ve ever seen.
Banality is in their DNA
LimeyGeek on March 21, 2008 at 1:01 PM
So why are you so willing to excuse strong indications that a candidate for the President of the United States is a racist? Here we are in the year 2008, do we really need a racist President, and why? Is it just that you are unconcerned whether or not the POTUS is a racist, or does your level of concern about a racist candidate vary based on the color of the racists skin?
Sorry for all of the questions, but as somebody who is “post-racial”, I find attitudes like yours and Obama’s… curious.

Maybe FOX just wants to make up for the time that the “Big 3″ has not spend on “Hatergate”.

Why are you sympathizing with Obama? He is a racist who associates with racists. I see no difference between posting on Stormfront and “worshiping” at the Trinity United Church of “Christ”.
