Political Shocker of the Day: Conservative talk-show producer can YouTube!

Politico has a scoop that will rock the political world: a talk-radio producer actually can put together a YouTube clip. No, wait, that’s not the scoop; apparently, the world will be shocked to know that Lee Habeeb of Salem Radio Communications doesn’t like Barack Obama. Still not shocked? Neither is anyone else (via Memeorandum):

A YouTube video mash-up that attacks Barack Obama on issues relating to his patriotism that has rocketed around the Internet in recent days was created in part by a prominent conservative talk radio producer.

“Is Obama Wright” splices together the most inflammatory language of Jeremiah Wright with a series of other issues that have arisen in the campaign, all of which have been fodder for a series of emails that question Obama’s loyalty to the country.

On Monday night, it had just over 500 views. By early Wednesday evening, it had received over 38,000 and was in the hands of activists and operatives in both parties.

In both parties? Hmmm. The Hillary Clinton campaign must have seen something it liked as well. And who authored this viral video, which Politico sees fit to embed on its own site? None other than our old friend Lee Habeeb, the former producer of the Laura Ingraham Show, where Hot Air’s former blogger Bryan Preston now works. Habeeb’s new gig has him working with the Salem Radio lineup, including my good friend Hugh Hewitt.

Scandal! Outrage! Er, no. Basically what we have here is an extended version of a Laura Ingraham audio outro, only with pictures. In fact, it doesn’t do anything except put together the words of Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright. The flag issue is just a little silly, and the studio-produced stammering is annoying, but the clip does make one point very clear — before The Speech, Obama had tried to claim that he didn’t know about any controversial statements at Trinity. Only after the avalanche of the material started to hit the airwaves did he have to reverse course and admit that he did know about them after all.

AP’s already linked to this video, but I’ll include it again. Ask yourself what’s so controversial about showing a person’s own words, even on YouTube.

Racist!

amerpundit on March 20, 2008 at 8:13 AM

This wouldn’t be the producer who Bryan replaced, would it?

Eh, nothing really new in that vid…just a mash-up for the wolves.

It’s early yet…the Wright thing will be forgotten in few weeks anyway. But the sudden drop in some of Obama’s support must surely be linked to Wright’s comments.

JetBoy on March 20, 2008 at 8:15 AM

The Wright dust-up may fade for now but will be back in time for the convention and the election. The internet will make sure of that.

Engrpat on March 20, 2008 at 8:21 AM

Clinton now has a 16% lead in Pennsylvania, but it doesn’t take into account the overrated speech.

amerpundit on March 20, 2008 at 8:29 AM

Jnathn Mrtin is should be such an embarrassment for Politico.

RushBaby on March 20, 2008 at 8:38 AM

Quick, burn it to a disc and send it to every voter in the country.

Did his wife really say that Barack could get shot going to the gas station? Because he’s black?

Wow. I somehow lost respect for her. Didn’t think that was possible, but there it is.

emailnuevo on March 20, 2008 at 8:39 AM

Like the Rev. Wright and BO’s grandma, Habeeb was just trying to be “provocative.”

Angry Dumbo on March 20, 2008 at 8:40 AM

Cherry picked…

You know who comes out looking great after all this? That’s right, Mitt Romney!

carbon_footprint on March 20, 2008 at 8:47 AM

He is the perfect candidate for the Left; he refuses to honor the country that is responsible for his (and his wife’s) success, he associates with openly hostile and racist pseudo-political leaders and when caught denies everything.

Neo on March 20, 2008 at 8:48 AM

Gosh, those comments from Rev. Dr. were just so cherry picked.

He is unfit to be Pres.

Perhaps I misunderstand the intent of your question, but my answer is:

The “what” Obama knew is the key for me. The issue in question is not about a theft, it is not about an affair - then I too would say, ho hum, yawn. In this case, however, it is rather Obama’s intimate learning from and “spiritually following” an individual with a pattern of publicly instilling and inciting (IMHO viral) racist, anti-American animosity…for a period of mostly ALL of Obama’s adult life. AND OBAMA LIED ABOUT IT.

Lockstein13 on March 20, 2008 at 8:49 AM

They better get used to it; more stuff like this will be playing on televisions all over the country if Obama gets the nomination.

“Did his wife really say that Barack could get shot going to the gas station? Because he’s black?”

Watching the History Channel’s series on gangs, that’s not a far-fetched idea. Just drive through the wrong ‘hood at the wrong time.

I can’t think of any undecided voter who could vote for this guy after that in November.
The dislike of this country permeates his campaign now.

She must of been referring to the Beltway Snipers….whoops…me bad…that was black men shooting whites.

the world will be shocked to know that Lee Habeeb of Salem Radio Communications doesn’t like Barack Obama.

At first, I’ll admit I didn’t like the extreme far left views of Obama, nor did I like the prospect of electing a presidential candidate who was so wet behind the ears. His naivete on the war made me cringe. But as for the man himself, he came across as a likeable fellow who showed signs of being a politician who danced to the beat of a different drummer.

The revelations of the last week and Obama’s tap dancing around his 20 year relationship with his incendiary pastor proves he is the same old cookie-cutter politician.

He’s not likeable now, even at the personal level. The luster is gone.

I wouldn’t go booking any reservations for the resurrection of the Messiah. Politically, he’s dead and buried.

From Dr Thomas Sowell:

My brother recalled his younger days down South during the Jim Crow era, when he had a job working late. After work, he had a long walk back home in the middle of the night. But, he says, “When I got to the black neighborhood, I felt safe!” That speaks volumes about what has happened since then.

Wade on March 20, 2008 at 9:05 AM

It would have been more powerful if they put the clip of him acknowledging that he heard those controversial statements in church right after he said he never heard them in church. And, if they quit all that Max Headroom stuttering.

benrand on March 20, 2008 at 9:16 AM

Every time I hear Wright screaming hatred from the pulpit, it kills another brain cell recording of MLK talking about the logic of equality. The lid has been lifted from a part of American culture that has been sanctified with victimhood, and is actually a culture of hatred against the majority of people in this country, not just White, but any skin color other than Black. Their racism, which is what Obama partakes in on Sunday instead of worshiping God, is as ugly and evil as anything White folk could muster up. The children of MLK have decided to be equal in their hatred of their fellow man based on the color of their skin instead of seeking equality in the workplace and schools. Their lack of appreciation and disregard for this country is appalling.

The victims have become what they claim oppressed them.

I’ve wanted to use this video at my place several times, but find the M-m-m-m-max Headroom crap too annoying. Otherwise a great clip.

Even if he wanted to pump his own gas, I doubt that his Secret Service detail would let him do it.

Poor, underprivileged Barack.

AZCoyote on March 20, 2008 at 9:37 AM

I’ve been surprised at the calmness Obama displays in this situation: it is surreal. His equinimity is appealing but if that is all he has I have to wonder if his personality is more pathological than the average politician. I’m beginning to get a strange sense that there is nothing inside: that there is just emptiness at his core. That scares me. He’s just a Stepford candidate who will smile through anything.

Heh heh. Over at Firedoglake, they are having massive hissy fits - in other words, the normal state for a progressive - over this, saying “Call In Bull Conners’ Hounds!”

I wonder if they understand that Bull Conners was a democrat?

Yeah, like a year ago on 60 Minutes. That was the opening salvo in Michelle’s War on America. The hilarious irony of it all: she’s talking about getting shot by other black men, but she somehow thinks that this is Whitey’s Fault.

Jaibones on March 20, 2008 at 10:24 AM

When I saw the headline, I assumed that Bryan Preston had managed to stir up some controversy in his new gig.

emailnuevo on March 20, 2008 at 8:39 AM

Same old same old. Note well BHObama’s facial response when Michelle, his partner, said that; more a smile. What REALLY MATTERS is that he FAILED to appeal to people’s better angels and say anything to dissipate the rancid spew from his wife. How magnanimous he could/should have looked if he had responded spontaneously with, “I don’t think that’s likely to happen; I have more faith in my fellow Americans than that”. He agreed with her, his face did not disavow her postulation. Obama takes every manipulative vote he can squeeze from what he presumes are masses of guilty-whites looking for an easy way to cleanse their filthy racist consciences. Give Obama you vote, and he shall set you free. BARF.

The greatest insult to America is throwing us BACK fifty or 150 years while pretending to lead us forward. It is OBAMA who needs to change before he can lead America forward. For all of his elite education, he neglected learning to appreciate what is good. Now he would deny that any of us know what is good rather than learn from us know-nothings.

The great melting pot of American population occurred as each participating culture CHOSE to blend into the unified fabric of multiple colors. America is like Joseph’s coat of many colors that Joseph’s brothers envied. Elitist races who refuse to love generic melting pot Americans should recognize that all of the finest peoples have shown the way to appreciate all mankind HERE IN AMERICA.

It is a huge drain of energy to revamp with money without improving the spirit the same population year in, year out, generation upon generation, CENTURY AFTER CENTURY, government program after legislated benefit, to no avail BECAUSE that population CHOOSES to hate rather than build good relations. Let moveon.org carry that entire load without tax benefits. When the well goes dry, change happens. Self suffiency and responsibility should be rewarded rather than crucified by taxes. During our Colonial days, white emigrants were indentured servants or slaves for a period. Poor whites in the South were share-crop serfs, NOT provided homes and food for their slaving work. Poor whites in the North were factory slaves working obscene conditions that forced their children into the same circumstances that endangered life and limb WITHOUT ability to save money, only to survive at sub-subsistence levels. “Whites” that were not recognized as “white”, Irish, Welsh and Italian and anyone not speaking English, along with Chinese emigrants, worked alongside poor whites on the railroad or in the mines under the WORST of conditions. Blacks were given the vote LONG before women. Except for the robber barons and some emigrating wealthy families from Europe, everyone has a sob story to tell, and no one’s sob story is more meaningful than anyone else’s in today’s world of equal rights. What happened BEFORE is over.

We are to ignore race and appreciate all people for their innate gifts. Like Hannity reminds folk, God made us all.

Happy Spring.

Spengler has really good stuff on Michelle Obama. She’s scarier than he is, but the fact that he’s with her makes him pretty damn scary, too.

Methinks Obama hates white people.

Happens quite often in Oakland and probably other major cities such as D.C. However, there is a caveat. The person wielding the firearm is usually (guess here) 90% of the time, is of the African-American persuasion. It might even be a higher percentage because if it was a white on black crime, the MSM would replay the news every 5 minutes for … well forever.

PrettyD_Vicious on March 20, 2008 at 1:18 PM

I found the video with him not covering his heart during the national anthem powerful for some reason. I’m not entirely sure why. Perhaps I doubt the ability of him to defend America when placing his hand over his heart during the anthem is apparently too much to ask of him.

That was never much of an issue about him for me before until I saw the video.

(The only “hate crime” I see is the producer’s hatred of quality video production ski-ski-ski-skill-skillz.)
