OBL (or his impersonator) accuses the EU of violating the “etiquettes of dispute and fighting”? That’s like the KKK accusing blacks of racism.

Bigfoot on March 20, 2008 at 9:02 AM

Exactly Bigfoot, yet the left continues to think we're the bad guys in all of this despite the fact our military constantly takes the high road and doing all it can to avoid civilian deaths where our enemy continues to indiscriminately kill many, many civilians...yet this azz hat has the nerve to talk about etiquette in warfare! It would be laughable if it weren't so disgusting, but what do I expect from someone that thinks it's ok to kill 3,000 innocent people.

While I hope the scum bag OBL is dead I would rather see his dead, lifeless body and/or his head on a stake before I'm convinced.

Bin Laden released a video every month after 9/11 until Dec 2001 when we did massive bombings of Tora Bora where he was held up. Since that time there has been no VERIFIED release of any tape or video to prove he is still alive, so I believe we killed him then. Too bad the media does not report this fact and stress this, instead of pushing the terrorist propaganda instead.

OBL (or his impersonator) accuses the EU of violating the "etiquettes of dispute and fighting"? That's like the KKK accusing blacks of racism.

He also condemns the mocking of all the prophets, mentioning Jesus. That's funny. I don't remember any muslims getting angry about the photo known as "P--- Christ".

I’m stumped. He’s got to be dead and these are fake. But the experts say they’re real and recent.

You got me..

And....

my theory that he’s dead and the jihadis are hiding it becase:
1. Dying of kideny problems isn’t “martyrdom”

I agree, he's buried under a mountain in Tora Bora (you know, where Kerry screamed that Bush 'outsourced' American jobs!). While I'm not quite as cynical as LegendHasIt, there are good reasons to keep him "alive," the martyrdom being only one.

We've seen little video from him, and that has been obviously spliced stuff, and the audio can be anyone, just listen to any FM Morning Show DJs doing their skits.

Even if one thinks he's alive, look at even the Muslim world's view of him. If we didn't kill him, we've actually done worse: Marginalized him, and made him irrelevant.

Has it occurred to anyone that saying "Bush will be leaving office soon" could just as well be referring to liberal's efforts to impeach him for the last few years?

...meaning this could have been made God knows when?

Well the Democrats aren't talking about the war either and since Al Qaeda's talking points pretty much echo the DNC's talking points, why should OBL say anything that Howard Dean is not?

Yup. Long dead.

But just about everyone has a vested interest in keeping him 'alive'.

Bush & co because if they admit he is dead, All the dems will demand that he shut down the 'war on terror' completely, not just Iraq.

The Dem Politicians are keeping him 'alive' so they can bash Bush with "You never got Bin Laden." and a gullible public will believe them.

All the Intel agencies in the world are keeping him 'alive' to keep their budgets flowing ever larger. (Plus in the CIA, the additional reason that the Dem pols: to make Bush look bad.

Our military "chairborne brass " are keeping him 'alive' for budgetary and manpower allocation purposes.

The media is keeping him 'alive' for the Bush bashing aspect, as well as for viewership / circulation ratings by ocasionally trotting out the biggest boogey man they can get to scare people.

The Islamofascists are keeping him 'alive' to 'tweak the nose of the great satan' and to avoid depressing their own people, future recruits and even run of the mill non bomb wearing muslims; If Osama were admitted to be dead, it would show their weakness and show that Allah can't protect even one major figure. PLUS, keeping him 'alive' makes us waste money and energy chasing Bin Dead Ladin when we should be concentrating on their important guys who AREN'T dead.

Hey Mark, I'm all for a Letter of Marque option for supporting our military but bounty hunters is a crazy idea from the far fringe of Libertarianism. Don't let Dwane"Dog" Chapman fool you, bail recovery is not a business full of people with the skills or willpower to grab nationals from other countries.

To get competant private sector forces like Blackwater involved we'd have to offer so much money that it'd be cheaper to send in our own. Of course that's just a man who dreams of having a letter of marque and reprisal on his person every day.

What’s the solution, Ron? Letters of marque, right?

C'mon. I know there's enough libertarian in you to know that bounty-hunting is better handled by the private sector than by the military. $1 billion dollars on Osama's head would produce results, and would be damn cheap.

The message is ... attack anyone for anything in the West. A cartoon. A book. A play. A song. A movie. Something the Pope said. It doesn't matter.

Blows Obama's "negotiate" message out of the water, along with his "Muslim Summit."

What, so we can all convert to Wahabbist Islam? That's the only thing that will satisfy AQ. Regardless if Osama is dead or not. That's the message.

Guarantee that Europe WILL see massive terror over a set of fricking CARTOONS. Muslims demand to tell us in the West how we can live our lives. It's about time we pushed back on that. Emphatically. So no one doubts the message.

And we're not alone. I believe the PRC on the threats to the Olympics. And their battle with Uighur Muslim terrorism and separatism. There are no boundaries to AQ and Jihad's demands. None at all.

New tape proves Bin Laden is dead?...

Perhaps a "fifth anniversary" doesn't have the significance in Arabic culture that it does with us, and therefore Bin Laden didn't think it deserved a new video. But the long silence from Osama -- I can't even remember the last time we had anythin...

...and by the way...

Does anyone believe that our military would really release their actual analysis of a purported Bin Ladin message to the general public? A competent military with a functioning propaganda unit would release exactly what they want the enemy to think we believe....nothing more, nothing less.

And we have the world's most competent military.

I don't believe Osama's been "Laddin" for quite some time...I think he's rotting in a musty cave near Afghanistan and occasionally serving as a chew toy for passing wolves.

Are these "messages" still coming on audio cassettes? What will they do when there are no more audio cassette players available?

Osama is a convenient focus for all sides here. The minimal and sketchy communications coming from Osama tend to make me think he is dead. But for western leaders it is more comfortable to blame an individual for hijacking a noble faith rather than blame the vicious dogma of a supremacist cult. For the Muslims he is a rally point and a foil for the real engine driving the conflict.

Did that speech not have the word change in it? Thats new for Obama. Oh, this was Osama. Sorry.

Really though, he must be dead. When your lstuck in acave for the rest of your life you can record a video saying Bush will be gone soon even if there are still to years to go. You have a lot of time to look ahead. I really think the guy is gone.

I can assure you that the tape is old.

And I mean, at least 12 to 6 months old.

Take my word for it.

What happened to Bin Laden?

I don't know.

All I know is that there is a message sent to his followers to respond to the danish cartoons (if you noticed, there was no physical response so far), Britain will get its share, and Saudi Arabia.

I already see replies to Bin Ladin's old message, some of them are like this one:

O Muslim Youth,

Kill the Jews and their supporters kill the Infidels, ambush them in their homes, their fields, their streets, take the night as a cover and turn their day into hell. May your slogan and your battle cry be 'Allah Akbar' (Allah is the greatest), the religion of Allah is the winner.

“they’re over here because we’re over there”

Chicken/egg.

Whoever is "over here" is due to the lack of border control. You could invade 50 countries and they'd still be "over here" because they'd be waved through the airport like any other anonymous person or simply stroll past the the US "border" with Mexico.
