A wise person will not refer to themselves as “smart”. It’s okay to be smart, just not to tell others that you are. Probably not even a good idea to think of yourself that way.

Michele isn’t doing Barack any favors. She really should champion breast cancer or some other apolitical cause and STFU.

Maybe Neil Boortz put it correctly. Obama, the Clintons, McCain, and all the rest of them are a separate class, the political class. It is more important to them to beat the person from the opposite political party than it is to serve the people, the electorate. Everything else just does not matter.

You mean people are just *now* noticing his arrogance? It’s been blatant ever since the 1st Democratic debate. Everyone else referred to their opponents as “Sen. ABC” or “Congressman XYZ”…but Obama consistently referred to them by their 1st names.

His persona is all about arrogance…it’s the “audacity” of hope, remember?

I’m sure increasing numbers of people will be turned off by the growing attitude amongst black voters that now is “their time” and that they “deserve” to have “one of their own” elected as if somehow they deserve a black president to make up for some sins of the white majority. A lot of whites will fall for it unfortunately.

Obama’s appeal is nothing more than a manifestation of a learned cultural arrogance. His ability to sidestep any accountability for questioinable decisions by spinning the Holier than thou projection of blatant arrogance as nuance intellect has been – up to this point – a stroke of campaign genius. Life has a way of showing that for arrogance to be palatable in any dosage, one must demonstrate unqualified success and universal recognition as the best in class. Obama cannot even describe what he has accomplished, so his use arrogance to peddle platitude is wearing extremely thin.

Cults of personality are only possible if the personality is confident, to the level of arrogant…

Its basis is the suspension of your own worldview to that of the personality… and the abrogation of personal responsibility that allowing someone else to make decisions for you brings.

I predicted 3 years ago that we were “ripe” for the advent of a cult of personality… it will be interesting to see if we avoid electing this completely unqualified candidate.

I’m no body language expert and don’t pay that much attention to Obambi and even I’ve noticed arrogance in his demeanor, manner of speech, and even the way he carries himself. He reminds me on occasion of the punk kids who deign to get out of the way of adults at the mall and bump into you on purpose. I’d say his wife Michelle is even worse. I’m just waiting for her to say “as a strong, proud, black woman…”.
