The obligatory “Pro-Hillary diarists boycott dKos” post

Is it really a “strike” if you don’t get paid and have the same relationship to your “employer” as someone who writes a letter to the editor has with a newspaper? I’m thinking no, but to the fellow traveler a walkout sounds much more “people-powered” than a boycott does, and thus is the American Federation of Concerned Bloggers (AFCB) born. Barnett and I were snickering over e-mail yesterday about what the most comically ironic line in the thread is. His choice: “a true progressive wouldn’t adopt such a condescending attitude, and such a childish one to boot.” My choice, from the post itself: “DailyKos is not the site it once was thanks to the abusive nature of certain members of our community.”
For dessert, enjoy the latest installment in the continuing education of pro-Hillary lefty Taylor Marsh in what an egregious, bottom-feeding, partisan hack our pal Olby is. She was shocked, shocked last month to find that “Countdown” takes something of a, shall we say, Soviet approach to balance among the guests it invites on. Now Krazy’s gone and spoken ill of a fellow Democrat. Uh oh:
Fairness is not part of the “news” on Countdown.
Keith Olbermann is no Edward R. Murrow.
He’s become what he has railed against. Olbermann is now the Bill O’Reilly of MSNBC. A big giant head railing against the first viable female candidate in U.S. history. Sports fans, it’s the latest craze. Get yer popcorn, before “Countdown” starts. Beer will be a buck.
Exit question: Anyone expect to hear a peep from Marsh about bias once the dust settles and the nominee is chosen and Kayo goes neck-deep into the tank for the Democrats?

Aren’t most blogs mostly that way most of the time?
Of course Redstate will probably always hold the record.

I have a Kos account, in which I use to Trojan Horse my way in to make the fruitcakes furious with my pro-Maverick comments. Almost 95% of my posts are removed within minutes. Nothing like free speech at a Liberal website.
THE CHOSEN ONE on March 16, 2008 at 3:44 PM
Disagree with that comparison. O’Reilly invites counter views and gives them a forum to speak from, usually giving them the last word. The only thing Obly and O’Reilly have in common is their shows last an hour.
Hog Wild on March 16, 2008 at 3:47 PM
There, I fixed it for them.

This political season has had it share of entertainment I have to admit. And it looks like it will keep giving.
William Amos on March 16, 2008 at 3:56 PM
I love it when the Dems turn on eachother. I have already stocked my entire house full of popcorn and am just watching the show!!!
HawaiiLwyr on March 16, 2008 at 4:00 PM
Huffington Post attacking Keith Olbermann? I never thought I’d see the day.
SoulGlo on March 16, 2008 at 4:03 PM
At first, for some reason, I read that as AFDB … Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie, and thought, “Oh, well, makes sense!”
Too bad DKos disabled comments for that diary. Too bad. I really wanted to add one :)
…DIVIDE and CONQUER!
SilverStar830 on March 16, 2008 at 4:03 PM
O’Reilly is a bit of an egotistical bore but Keith Olbermann
is simply a dolt with a big thesarus. Who but the choir wants to tune in to his nightly rants and non sequiturs?
moxie_neanderthal on March 16, 2008 at 4:07 PM
A left wing conspiracy against Olbermann. Only dems could pull this off. You coudn’t make this stuff up!
THE CHOSEN ONE on March 16, 2008 at 4:09 PM
Brilliant. Had me laughing…
moxie_neanderthal on March 16, 2008 at 4:09 PM
Let me join in with my suffering brothers and sisters in boycotting any contributions to DKos.
The fact that I’ve never contributed anything to those oatmeal brains is irrelevant.
To the barricades.

I know its Allah’s job to ask the questions around here but how severely could a Hillary nomination and November defeat weaken the KOmmies and DUmmies?
Greenhorn on March 16, 2008 at 4:09 PM
And let me add that this fight is not over.
No it’s not.
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Was it over when the CIA created AIDS? Was it over when Bush caused 9/11?
It ain’t over until we say it’s over.
Copies of this on videotape are available for $29.95 not including shipping.

Conservative sites leave all but the worst of the comments up. The leftis…liberal blogs censor that which they disagree with.[/department of redundancy department]
jukin on March 16, 2008 at 4:38 PM
Over? Did you say “over”? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! And it ain’t over now. ‘Cause when the goin’ gets tough……..uh……. the tough get goin’! Who’s with me? Let’s go! -Ted Kennedy
…or was that Bluto Blutarsky? Bah. Same thing.
SilverStar830 on March 16, 2008 at 4:42 PM

It wouldn’t. Defeat feeds these cretins, because it gives them a whole new menu of grievances and conspiracy theories to feed on. For all their claims of being progressive, they are more truly defined as reactionary, because they define themselves by what they oppose.

No, ’twas Rev. Wright.
SteveMG on March 16, 2008 at 4:47 PM
Good point. I read the Brad Blog take on it (I actually agreed with his point..just stop visiting (reading) if you really want to get your point over to kos) and one of the commentors left this:
If by authoritarian they mean that a person agrees to follow the rules prior to posting comments and said person breaks all rules and has comment erased..I agree. The problem with sites like kos and HuffPo are that they have absolutely no control over the comments..

AFCB? Doesn’t really roll off the tongue, does it? How about:
Bloggers

Bad
Individuals
Expressing
Sacrilege

They should love him over there as there is not a conservative bone left in McCain’s body. It is the Nixon effect- liberals never realized that Nixon was their best friend in the way he advanced their agenda.
Valiant on March 16, 2008 at 5:20 PM
Olbermann knows when to fold a bad hand, it’s just ironic. He was the on air hatchet man for David Brock et al. for years at the behest of Hilary Co. His ratings went up doing the Anti-Fox thing for the Left and when the Kos Kidz threw Hilary under the bus he had to follow suit. That’s his audience. He, like them (Kos Kidz), are what they appear to be, a bunch of pansies. That’s why no dissent is allowed on their site or his show. He doesn’t book guests with alternative viewpoints because he’s a pu**y. Same reason Markos has never done a single interview where he could be challenged. THe whole lot of them, Kos, Keith, Harry Reid are a bunch of cowards.

Broken record. Aren’t we beyond this hyperbolic BS yet?
AYNBLAND on March 16, 2008 at 5:24 PM
Like a house of cards it will all come crashing do. A belief system based on FEELINGS is doomed from the start. Libs, like children who need a nap, spit out the “I hate you!” when they do not get their way.
TroubledMonkey on March 16, 2008 at 5:33 PM
True, as well as Keith Olbermann is an As$-Clown!
Seven Percent Solution on March 16, 2008 at 5:38 PM
The unity of the democrat party was all window dressing anyways.

I don’t think HotAir could be called an echo chamber. Disagreements abound amongst we commenters.
AbaddonsReign on March 16, 2008 at 5:41 PM
Kossacks eat their young. What’s new about that?
oakpack on March 16, 2008 at 6:05 PM
Hey, at least Markos hasn’t posted a “Screw ‘Em” comment about the Hillary people over their attempt to boycott his site over the pro-Obama slant.
And while I agree that, if Hillary does win the nomination, people like Olbermann and Kos will slink back and try to pretend that the past two months never happened, the average Kos diarist carries the memories of slights and injustices — real and imagined — around like a heard of elephants. The only way the Hillary people get them back with any enthusiasm this fall is to distract them with some bright, shiny object, in this case, by painting McCain as the embodiment of all of the worst the country has done in the past 50 years. It will make the current Hillary-Obama dust-up look a like a Care Bears movie come October.

“a true progressive wouldn’t adopt such a condescending attitude, and such a childish one to boot.”
Maybe Ann Coulter was right, these people really think of big government as a church or something.

“Now that’s funny…I don’t care who y’are” – Larry the Cable Guy
This is like watching preschoolers on a play ground…, can’t you hear them all whining…”WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Those other moonbats are mean, and stupid, and ugly…we’re taking our toys and going home!”
