The link you provided is not a McClatchy site, so I did some checking on the author of the story in your link Les Blumenthal. He has a his own page on the McClatchy site, at the bottom of the page they list his most recent stories dating back before the provided link.

In all seriousness, saluting to their bravery and personal sacrifice, does anyone really think they are qualified to run a war? If their opinion on the entire war is genuinely valid, maybe we should be consistent and promote them to generals – rank adequate to their competence? And if we are not doing that, maybe we’ll admit to ourselves why not and behave accordingly.

The pay for the average soldier is below what they would be making in the civilian world for the same job.

Also, I’m confused if you’re saying enlisted soldiers aren’t qualified to run a war, or if no soldiers are truly qualified to run a war. You don’t just get to become a general because you stayed in the military long enough. If you aren’t better than your peers you get passed over for promotion. Officers have a civlian degree, and to reach a certain rank you need a masters in something. They also go to this little thing called a War College.

This is just another small bit in the MSM’s relentless quest to destroy all that is good in the US.

Not by itself, but combine that with the whole Sharia law thing & women being only worth half a male or needing 2 women to equal 1 man’s testimony or some such non-sense like that….or the fact that woman are not allowed to drive; not even allowed to go outside without a male family member; or without wearing an all black, 4-man, windowless tent in the dang hot desert sun! So yes, it would seem odd that they would suggest a woman for prez.

Really? How come veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan are three times as likely to be unemployed? I think you along with all of us as a country are very good at giving them the lip service. The reality though doesn’t quite match the rhetoric.
