Thats beautiful man. Brought a tear to my eye, just thinkin’ about what a great movie that would be and how much hollywood would hate it. I get the feeling that would be at the top of the box office. Thats thinkin’ outside the Box.

Forgot about Dark Knight. Yeah, that’s going to be the best of the bunch. Batman Begins was the Best. Comic. Movie. Ever.

And I say that not just because it had Christian Bale and Liam Neeson.

Ya know what would be original? A movie where the army guy does NOT say, “as far as Im concerned he belongs to the military.” OR “They want it for weapons research”. Just throwing that out there. In the mean time I’ll be watching re-runs of Stargate SG1.

Incredible Hulk looks… absolutely awful. Ang Lee may end up with the last laugh in this case, ironically enough. Iron Man shows great potential, but I won’t believe it until I see it. The Dark Knight, however, may very well be the greatest comic book-to-film adaptation of… all… time. It will be the great film of this upcoming summer.

Between Ironman, Batman, and the Hulk, it seems to me like the Hulk is going to be the weak link for this summer of potentially overflowing awesomeness. But I don’t think it’s going to be that weak a link.

A Tim Roth, Ed Norton throw down? Lots and lots of CGI would have to be used just to get this thing up to normal human testosterone levels. Roth was a scrawny ape and Norton has been a scrawny everything. Not that that is a bad thing.

Not that it translates readily into The Abomination, but Tim Roth’s Archibald Cunningham in “Rob Roy” is easily one of the greatest movie villains ever.

Bill Bixby was not an alpha male in the original Hulk series. He was a tortured soul, a man who made a big mistake and the guilt that follows him around. It’s an enormously complex character (that was wasted with the last screenplay– yuck). I think Norton could make a sympathetic Hulk.

But I agree– the concept of Hulk for a comic book? Sucks. Who wants to hear a guy whine for 12 pages about how he loses control then then starts smashing things. I want a guy who knows what he’s doing when he smashes things!

In the comics Bruce Banner is a nebbish. So is Peter Parker. So is Reed Richards. So are a lot of other superheroes. Why? Who do you think buys comics? I’ll give you a hint. Go down to a comic shop on the day the new issues come out and take a gander at the clientele. You won’t see very many football players or other alpha males. Comics have long been a beta male power fantasy.

That said, the Hulk is not a superhero. The Hulk is a giant monster who occasionally does good things but tends to leave a trail of death and destruction in his wake. Which is why Bruce Banner has, on occasion, tried to kill the Hulk and various other superheros have also done their best to get rid of him. A recent major storyline in Marvel Comics was “World War Hulk” in which the Hulk lead a devastating alien invasion of Earth in retaliation for Reed Richards, Professor X, and Tony Stark, among others, conspiring to get rid of him by shooting him off into space to a planet far, far away from Earth and then apparently blowing said planet up just to be sure. Marvel has even shown us a potential future in which the Hulk has killed every single superhero on the planet. The Hulk is not a hero.

Now this does look like an improvement over Ang Lee’s movie. More SMASH, less emo.

I heard there was going to be a Justice League movie out. I’m not sure if Green Lantern is going to be in that one but I’d love for a Green Lantern movie. I didn’t appreciate his powers until the new Justice League cartoons though.

They actually had the Hulk v Superman in the comics. Hulk lost. But against the juggernaut or the thing, the hulk is suppose to be stronger.
