Video: Best birthday evah

Proof positive of the disquieting weirdness of tiny Tom: There’s nothing at all strange or cultish about this — it’s just a party, albeit an unusually lavish one — but it’s unnerving anyway, mainly for the birthday boy’s uncanny ability to project a sense of such high-strung energy that you fear he might go off at any moment, and no one knows what’ll happen when he does. This time the damage is no worse than an off-key rendition of “Old Time Rock and Roll.” Next time? Only Xenu knows. Click the image to watch.

He’s got a lot of moves for a hobbit.

Ummmm….anybody know who the gay fan-boy in the tighty-whitey t-shirt is He seems mighty taken with the Maverick.
Jus’ sayin’…..

Oh come on,they couldn’t afford to hire Bob Seger!
But it does have that surreal feel to it though
in that kind of a sect setting way!

Ah….nevermind….it’s David Miscavige.

I’m afraid ol’ Tom has crossed the rubicon and is firmly ensconced in Buseyland. As for the rendition of Old Time Rock and Roll, somewhere a group of drunken Japanese businessmen are quietly embarrassed for him. The only good thing I can say is he moves well, does the “Church” offer intergalactic yoga classes?
trubble on March 14, 2008 at 7:51 PM
At least he kept his pants on this time.

BTW, there will be worldwide protests against the Church of Scientology tomorrow March 15th. Check out Enturbulation.org for protest locations near you.

Why do they always seem to conveniently forget “Taps”.
Dusty on March 14, 2008 at 8:09 PM
Where is his wife? Not invited?
peacenprosperity on March 14, 2008 at 8:09 PM
You had it right the first time.
peacenprosperity on March 14, 2008 at 8:10 PM
As long as it’s about Tom, he’s there and he’s loving it.
That was very funny. Show him some movie clips of himself and he is uber entertained.

What I want to know is when will Will Smith’s conversion be complete?
Theworldisnotenough on March 14, 2008 at 8:25 PM
OOH… HARSH!! Your own chruch, which you are the most famous and recogniseable face of, sez that you ain’t shite!!
Mazztek on March 14, 2008 at 8:31 PM
If it wasn’t for it being Tom, then it’d be just another guy having a great time.
Although admittedly having your own movies playing as you enter was a bit.. hmm..

He’s got that crazy man laugh.
Forget waterboarding, imagine the possibilities of a video mash-up that alternates between him and Hillary laughing/cackling.
I wonder how long KSM would have lasted under that…
PaisleyCow on March 14, 2008 at 8:36 PM
Every time I see him I wonder, “What happened?”
Very disturbing.

One question: Where’s Katie…. and Suri?
Shouldn’t they be in on the festivities?
ToddonCapeCod on March 14, 2008 at 9:03 PM
Based on that clip, I take it he really, really, really digs his own films. I mean, he seems to be giving his screen persona wolf-whistles…not that there’s anything wrong with that.

What a very strange little man.

Gosh, now we know where that creepy-a$$ Mission Impossible music from the Tom-rants-about-scientology-and-says-nothing video came from. *Shudder*
I am truly enjoying watching this creepy b!tch’s career nosedive.

“It’s beautiful man!!! Beautiful!!”
I didn’t forget….
TBinSTL on March 14, 2008 at 10:59 PM
“Taps” was a decent flick. “It’s beautiful, man!”
I’m wondering where “Born of the 4th of July” is…

Higgins was really Robin Masters.
Et tu Brute on March 14, 2008 at 11:05 PM
The person referred to above as “the gay fan boy” is the head of Scientology. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Clark1 on March 14, 2008 at 11:24 PM
What’s with his way too tight white t-shirt? Is he going for the role of “Danny” in the next Broadway installment of “Grease.”
p40tiger on March 14, 2008 at 11:35 PM
Wow, I have heard of such a phenominon but never have I seen such sheer ego stroking done live. Now the excuse could be made, that this was a “Surprise Party” but still… Creepy.
I think the oddness comes from his over the top “acting”
its like hes either REALLY self UN-aware, or like he knows hes on camera and mugging more than those David Blaine parodies.
Dunno but defiantly creepy.

I willing to forgive the Grand Poobah of Xenuism pretty much anything if his upcoming performance in Tropic Thunder is any indication of his sense of the absurd.

T minus 2 hours 30 minutes until party time at your local Church of Scientology org. They are just as bad as Islamist organizations.
mram on March 15, 2008 at 11:35 AM
I guess if I donated millions of dollars to CoS and was a public spokesman for the organization, they’d throw me an expensive birthday party bash on their own cruise ship.
At least he’s free of theta bodies.
Weebork on March 15, 2008 at 12:02 PM
I don’t like Cruise anymore, think he’s nuts, etc.
That being said, this was a birthday celebration, and I didn’t see what the big deal was. I’ve seen enough wacky behavior at weddings, bar mitzvahs, etc., that this is nothing.
asc85 on March 15, 2008 at 12:13 PM
Did he salute a picture of Hubbard before he began?
Hummer53 on March 15, 2008 at 1:42 PM
I see that Enturbulation.org is now down. Those xenuists sure waste no time hacking their enemies… But then, we know that, I guess.
I hope the protests went well. Someone from them, update us so we know you’re still alive or not in jail on a trumped up CoS Special legal charge!
tickleddragon on March 15, 2008 at 2:01 PM
Don’t insult the prophet Tom Cruise. That’s like saying mohammed is evil! Expect bloody protests soon for this blasphemy.
Kevin M on March 15, 2008 at 2:07 PM
He should never ever sing ever ever again. Never.
Glynn on March 15, 2008 at 6:34 PM
Tom who? No really! Tom Loose? Nope! Don’t know who he is….
Can’t stand him! Haven’t watched anything he’s done in years!
Just got done watching Apocalypto, though….
Now that’s a good flick! Especially the scene with the still beating heart!
Vntnrse on March 16, 2008 at 1:18 AM
Looks like a pretty good party…If you were an actor whose movies had grossed something north of two billion dollars how would your birthday be celebrated? Enough of the cruise bashing. He is an actor who seems to have a very decent personal life compared to most of the hollywood scum who bounce from addiction to rehab to new addiction…John Travolta is a scientologist as well but he seems to escape scrutiny and rabid criticism.
