Funny thing is the recession/depression will be blamed on Bush

News flash for some geniuses out there- we’re already in a recession, and Alan Greenspan and many other economists have already blamed it on Bush.

Are higher taxes all that bad, or is it worse to run up a massive budget deficit that permits only minor tax breaks when the economy slows, leaving interest rate cuts as the only lever to revive the economy? Do you think that perhaps it might be better to have higher taxes and a currency that the rest of the world actually wants to hold? Maybe when oil passes $120 a barrel and import-related inflation starts kicking in you’ll start to understand..

Maybe Al Gore should get together with Harry Reid and explain to him how the internet works. Harry doesn’t seem to understand that the results of the pork vote are going to be made available to the public regardless of how late at night the vote is scheduled.

But hey, isn’t it great to know that people making $32k a year are now considered to be “wealthy”? Why, with an income like that, you could probably fill up your gas tank three or four times a year.

When this country voted to approve the Constitutional Amendment providing public election of Senators, we also voted the many States to relinquish all controls over the Federal Government. We now reap the whirlwind of that gobsmackingly bad Amendment.

BTW, don’t expect to ever get control of Congress and its tax and spend proclivities any time before the next Ice Age.

Ultimately, we can all refuse to pay up, but it needs to be a large number of us (million?), not just a couple dozen that the jackboot IRS can flush away in some dark hole of a jail with no jury trial.

As intimidating as it seems (which is how fascists like it), we do have the ultimate say.

Requires guts though. Not something that my fellow Americans (in general, of course) have a great reputation for nowadays. Sadly.
