America’s newest celebrity set to break the bank

Book deal, movie deal, Penthouse spread, and a few hundred thousand downloads of her song. She’s living at the moment in a building where the apartments have marble ceilings and the studio rents start at $3,500.

Maybe she won’t have to move out after all.

Dupre had also posted two songs at the music sharing site Aime Street, which allows musicians to earn a 70 percent cut of download fees, which are determined by their popularity. The songs, “What You Want” and “Move Ya Body” are dance-pop tunes a la Britney Spears.

On “What We Want,” she sings: “I know what you need/ Can you handle me?”

As of Thursday evening, the songs had been listened to by some 200,000. Downloads were selling for 98 cents each, though “What We Want” had previously been selling for less than 20 cents. That song was also making it onto the nation’s radio airwaves.

“After the first play, a lot of the reaction was negative,” said Sharon Dastur, program director of New York’s Z100 (WHTZ-FM). “But after the second play, it became, `Play that song again,’ and `Hey, that song’s not bad.”

Ace asks a good question: Given the filthy lucre at stake for any high-end call girl willing to dish dirt on famous johns, why don’t more do it? Some sort of (im)moral code within the profession that you simply don’t, er, “kiss” and tell? That’s a mighty powerful code, if so, considering the amounts at stake and the fact that these women got into the business to make big money in the first place. Or is it simply a matter of proof?

I’ve been meaning to link this all day. Stick with it; the end’s the best part.

I wondered this in a thread the other day….they could setup a big name and make a killing, being a prostitute no more.

imagine if they secretly recorded it, like all the Celeb sex tapes out there…..

sick culture

I could get used to TDS blue on blue, but I won’t get my hopes up.

BadgerHawk on March 13, 2008 at 8:35 PM

That’s a mighty powerful code

I imagine it’s a might powerful gamble. If you spill the beans at the right time, like this whore, you cash out. If you mistime it and get hammered in a public mudfight, you may never ‘work’ again.

I suspect there’s some sort of ‘honor among thieves’ code at play. I’ve never been so low as to pay for sex, so I admit I’m talking out of my arse.

LimeyGeek on March 13, 2008 at 8:36 PM

Hmmm. How much is Penthouse going for now?

Look forward to the movie cameo…

Agrippa2k on March 13, 2008 at 8:36 PM

Check out “Move Ya Body” on her Amie Street page.
-1:13 thru -1:10
The lyrics “Sex, Money, Drugs–It’s what I’m all about” are clearly spoken. “Rub your body against mine” is also a recurring theme in the song. This chick is ready to exploit the situation for every single cent it is worth.

That Daily Show link was funny!! If only Jon Stewart weren’t so liberal.

Green beer and red ink for a blue state.

RedWinged Blackbird on March 13, 2008 at 8:38 PM

The song stinks and her voice is whiny. As to book and movie deal — there isn’t a whole lot of story to tell: meet client, check for envelope with name on it, strip, bj, spread legs, fake organism, shower, leave, give most of money to pimp agency, call drug dealer. She’ll make money from Penthouse. But she also has to pay her legal fees, taxes, back taxes, hire an agent, etc. Her whoring days will also be seriously curtailed because of her notoriety. I’m not sure if she isn’t looking at jail time, too.

Blake on March 13, 2008 at 8:38 PM

why don’t more do it?

Maybe their pimp will dump their body in a New Jersey swamp if they talk…

tommylotto on March 13, 2008 at 8:38 PM

lol. Stewart clip is great.

After a couple of these, assuming the client(s) was equally well-known, I think the new would wear off and it would be less lucrative.

Prediction: More will do it, waves more will do it, now that FNC (and then MSM) has given Kristen broad exposure.

By this move alone, FNC may have done more to break up the prostitution business than a thousand prosecuting attorneys.
Can’t prove it of course, but my bet is FNC knew this when it decided to play the story. Good work, FNC!

I disagree. Bad for business – and this racket is all about business. When all you’ve got in life is your ability to sell your vagina, you cannot afford to fall any lower. Zero is the only next stop.

If you really think about it, in say, what, a year, maybe sooner, people are going to ask stuff like “Who’s she?” and before you know it, she’ll be a question in a future edition of Trivial Pursuit. For now, let her enjoy her 15 minutes of fame. It’s going to run out sooner than she thinks anyway.

Some sort of (im)moral code within the profession that you simply don’t, er, “kiss” and tell?

According to the Mama-san that was on O’Reilly the other night, it would be bad for business to squeal on your clients, or be known as one who would…so they don’t.

BTW, I don’t think this one squealed. Didn’t it come out in some sort of sworn testimony?

Being the upstanding Blogger that I am, I avoided the bad byline…

Although, I did seriously consider the following line:

I did however reject that on the grounds that it was quite bad.

LimeyGeek on March 13, 2008 at 8:43 PM

Morality, for better or worse, has little to do with it.

MSM exposure of Kristen has made her R I C H. MSM exposure of her new fortunes will make a cottage industry of dishing the dirt on famous johns.Dishing the dirt on famous johns may become the new a la mode path to wealth for aspiring runaway girls, among others of the call girl persuasion. That’s how it will undermine the call girl business.

Ain’t capitalism wonderful!

petefrt on March 13, 2008 at 9:23 PM

Given the filthy lucre at stake for any high-end call girl willing to dish dirt on famous johns, why don’t more do it?

Because many (most?) work for organized crime organizations where opening your mouth gets you a nice pair of cement shoes.

TheBigOldDog on March 13, 2008 at 9:23 PM

Hmmm she’s now getting set to be wealthy after doing pretty well.
I wonder where the NOW is on this or does the National Organization of Women approve of prostitution as an acceptable path to break through glass ceiling?

Right, but the high end of the business will be undermined and temorarily ruined. It’s the part that caters to celebs and public figures.

That part won’t recover until they figger a better way to guarantee anonimity.

RushBaby on March 13, 2008 at 11:35 PM

To answer Allahpimpdaddy’s original question via Ace, there are several reasons these girls don’t rat out the celebs for cash:
1) She very may well not have known until after the story broke that he was The Guv. These aren’t the kind of girls that avidly follow politics, and even if you see his face in print on occasion, one middle aged bald white guy pretty much looks like another in her biz.
2) Doing the math. The girls that can charge $5K/hr aren’t stupid, either. If she does 10-20 gigs a month, minus agency charges, she’s still looking at making $25K a month. The Penthouse spread, interview fees, etc. is quite possibly less than a year’s income to her.
3) The crime angle. She knows what happened to Heidi Fleiss, and isn’t eager to go to jail. Ratting out the celeb is openly admitting to the crime, with all the hassle that will entail. Yeah, you may get a book deal, but if the government isn’t offering you immunity to testify against them (unlikely unless they’re politicians), all that money is going to end up paid to the lawyers.
4) You are guaranteed to get audited by the IRS. And they are going to COLLECT for every year you didn’t bother to file because you were “Off the grid”.
5) This girl also ain’t rich…why do you think she has a public defender? These girls are NOT smart about money. There are no offshore bank accounts in the Caymans. She’s quite probably spending every dime that she makes–clothes, spas, expensive tastes, furniture, etc. Yeah, you can blow $25K in NYC in a month very, very easily. She may not have so much as a simple savings account. But she knows that going public would pretty much kill her cash flow.
6) Organized crime. I think this was mentioned before, so it’s highly likely there are severe disincentives not to expose the organization.

latest report shows 1 out of 4 of our young girls have at least 1 STD. it seems though maybe not ALL are “doing it”, at least 1 in 4 appear to be doing so. we only have ourselves to blame for feeding this. if there were no demand, there would be no supply. Oh how i wish this whore would just go away. but she wont. too many sick guys jerking off over her. (same guys complaining that shes here).

HunnyWaggin on March 14, 2008 at 6:08 AM

Why all the high-price call girls won’t “go public”, along with all of the other good points brought up regarding income and potential retribution: One of Dupre’s biggest draws is that she is the “innocent victim” in this scenario. She didn’t seek the limelight and didn’t betray anyone, but got drug into it by Spitzer’s foolishness and the NYT’s sources giving her up.

Now I ain’t sayin’ that she’s lilly-white or that she won’t latch onto the oppotunity like a dog on a dish-rag, but the fact that she didn’t self-promote is earning her a lot of sympathy and street cred that someone who initiated the scandal wouldn’t get.

Immolate on March 14, 2008 at 7:24 AM

Considering this petri dish’s forte of taking on the John’s who prefer the “risky” kind of acts, (read no condom and What What) she may have a festering long term sentence much greater than anything the legal system will ever (if ever) dish out.

Penthouse spread

Am I just a perv, or does anyone else catch the double entendre?

Think_b4_speaking on March 14, 2008 at 2:12 PM

I would think that the reason more call girls don’t tell is that they are afraid of their clients and their own pimps/madams. The girl is small, the john is powerful. The organization they are working for is more powerful still. Besides, unless your client is busted for participating in an illegal prostitution ring and happens to be a Governor or some other high-profile person, what rewards are there exactly for coming forward? Would the hooker of the Mayor of Podunkville get a Penthouse spread?
