…Why is his resigning any kind of bargaining chip to avoid jailtime? If he committed the crimes (plural), then he should resign AND spend time in jail.

The nasty side of plea bargaining. It happens every day with reduced charges traded for a guilty plea and another scalp for the prosecutor to hang on his belt that he didn’t have to earn.

Wishful thinking indeed. I’m sure Paterson has his own senior advisers, leaving Constantine out in the cold.
