This has always mystified me too. The left seems to think that the only ones qualified to answer questions on a given subject are the most ignorant.

They ask “environmentalists” (no credentials whatsoever) about how to control weather (as if they actually could) and how each of us is to live according to their preconceived, misguided, non-factual, and often contradictory prejudices.

They ask self-appointed busybody’s with no scientific training whatsoever which chemicals are to be declared “evil”, too. The state of California (aka “the Luddite State”) is well on its way toward declaring every substance known to man a “carcinogen”…as though they understood what they were talking about and had provided a rational alternative to any of them.

So far, this exercise in self-destructive leftist insanity has resulted in the death of 60 million human beings (and counting…) just due to the ill-considered and scientifically-unnecessary banning of DDT.

Unless we stop them, no telling how many more people are going to be sacrificed via starvation and disease on the altar of “global warming”!!

Speaking of old communism… Navratilova seems the typical former Soviet Bloc athlete. Her exodus upon the Soviet Union’s fall had less to do with love for America than to avoid being lynched by those freed. In her homeland many probably hadn’t forgotten Martina was part of the Champagne and jet set while her less privileged countrymen were rotting in the gulags and salt mines.

There’s another reason for her to keep her dual citizenship: Just in case her hometown finds her return about as welcome as Brezhnev’s.

She didn’t actually defect. that is the word choice of the always accurate (/sarcasm) Independent. She is still a US citizen, she merely regained her Czech citizenship as well.

That said, I think her views are logically flawed as others have mentioned.
