Sometimes I feel the democratic party is playing this game all the time.

If the rest of the U.S. was like Mississippi, the Democrats would have NO chance in November. The Democratic party would be hopelessly divided.

The entire southern Democratic party is based on the black vote helped by a few white liberals and Hispanics. Oddly its the South that is pushing Obama into the nomination.

I think the Dems are forgetting that the Republicans will also be voting in the GE.
The southern states that Obama is winning will not be his in November, with the exception maybe of Virginia.
I think California will be in play with McCain running, don’t laugh, I really think it will be up for grabs.

The difference between them is that Obama has mostly eschewed that approach for his campaign, preferring to run as a candidate who happens to be black rather than as a black candidate.

Which is why I’m sure race had nothing to do with 9 out of 10 black voters in Mississippi going for Obama. Nope. Nothing at all to do with it. Why, if people were voting for someone based on his race, I’m sure the media would be reporting that far and wide. Yessiree, people voting for a candidate cuz he’s black (or, you know, white) that would be a big story for sure.

Hillary will/should say no state in the South will go blue (except maybe Virginia!) so none of this matters. It’s all about Ohio and Pennsylvania in the general election!
