Video: Bush sings!

It’s from the Gridiron Dinner, where the press puts aside its differences with Bush for an evening to invite him to come crack jokes and assure them that they’re all elites who can command an audience even with a president they conspicuously despise. Technically it’s off the record; in the age of the cell phone, not so much.

Gotta love that guy holding up the lighter. Might as well be Dream Weaver. . .

Now I see why he never made it as a singer.
*Snicker*

Check out the other video on the right frame. Is that Helen Thomas he’s holding by his hand onstage? And kissing? I really like Bush and will miss him. He is certainly a compassionate and honorable man.

In other news, President George W. Bush received today the Presidential Daily Briefing (PDB) which includes the new whereabouts of Vice President Dick Cheney.

He’s definitely a better singer than anyone in the choir at our church. I’ll give the president that much. Not to mention rappin’ Karl Rove.

He can’t sing (neither can I) but it is so funny.
I KNOW he’s going to be glad to be shut of Washington.

I think he’s really having a lot of fun. I’m jealous!

Trying to crack a joke, dancing, now singing. The man will throw himself into most anything and enjoy himself doing so…..with no apparent fear that he will be taken for a fool. He knows himself, is clear on his beliefs, and seems to love life. No wonder that as much as he is derided he remains the one people would most like to ‘party’ with. He can drop by here any old time…..what a hoot he must be in private.

That was great. I love that guy.

Dubya’s cool!
Thank you Mr. President.

Now you know how comfortable President Bush is in his own skin.
That screams volumes for the character of the man.
Props to the back up singers……….

As bad as it was, it was still better than this

I figured someone would mention the lighter. Nowadays at concerts, it’s cell phones. At the Metallica concert a couple of years ago, I got two lighters, fiddled with them so the flame was three” high, lit em up, held em high. The whole section thought I was nuts…
bikermailman on March 10, 2008 at 9:30 PM
His singing held up pretty well for the first half. I still find these things.. surreal.

Dude, really, how long have you been sitting on that little gem to spring on us?
Seven Percent Solution on March 10, 2008 at 10:19 PM
The backup singers were all military Men.
Is there any reason in this world that Man shouldn’t be loved and respected by everyone.
I love W. Thank you, Mr. President. You know who really supports you till the end, sir. Press on.

I have it on good authority that Mr. Bush used to listen to HIllbilly at Harvard, WHRB-FM in Cambridge, MA (95.3 FM), Saturdays 9 AM – 1 PM Eastern, streaming at http://www.WHRB.org when he was at the Harvard Business School, a little bit of Texas (and Nashville) in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts.

“We’re sorry, this video is no longer available.”
Did someone at the White House take it down?
Too bad; it was really priceless.

And after I dumped my temporary internet files too.

Here’s the new link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYJqSWLCB60
I’ve yanked the file, too, since it stands a good chance of disappearing again.
