“The failure of the Iraqi state would be a disaster,” he said at a lunch sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor, according to an audiotape of the session. “It would dishonor the 900-plus men and women who have already died. . . . It would be a betrayal of the promise that we made to the Iraqi people, and it would be hugely destabilizing from a national security perspective.”

Actually, Obama married a crazy seditious screeching bitch, while McCain married a wonderful woman.
And that’s something (having been lucky myself)!

Straight Talk Express: If you are going to be one of those punk beatches who wants to protest vote by voting cythnia McCkinney or Nadar, you may want to watch this. Focker.
THE CHOSEN ONE on March 10, 2008 at 12:28 AM
I think a lot of us know that or something similar.
Hamas follows the same game plan.
Kini on March 10, 2008 at 12:29 AM
Yes, it would be crazy for a conservative to vote for any Presidential candidate who previously voted against the confirmation of both Roberts and Alito.
That means that it would be crazy to vote for either Senator Obama or Senator Clinton.
Yes, Obama has excelled at compiling the most liberal voting record in the entire senate. Yes, he has excelled at that.
But that’s not who a convervative wants as President.
Red Pill on March 10, 2008 at 12:32 AM

I just think McCain has a lot to hide.

OK, we all know that TCO likes 60 Minutes, we all know they are very credible, right? But what the f***?
And my favorite:
Dude, you need to relax, take a deep breath, and not be so disrespectful to those who just might know a little more than you do.
Suggestion, keep reading, but stop watching 60 Minutes.
Just a suggestion……..

dmann on March 10, 2008 at 12:46 AM
This statement by Obama highlights his simultaneous strength and weakness–that is, he is everything and anything he wants you to think he is. He can be a political Rorschach test for the uninformed person, but as a blank slate, we conservatives will have the opportunity to replace whatever Hot Air ™ comes out of his orifice with whatever we want him to have said.
BryanS on March 10, 2008 at 12:46 AM
A lesser of two evils. Choices are few. And yes a lot can happen between now an August. The DNC will be a interest to all, if not comedy gold.

I try not to compliment McCain much, but he’s certainly a far better lady’s man than he ever was a pilot!
Of course, Obama has also been quite successful in developing a Ghetto accent, instead of the bland white guy accent of his actual family. I’m wating for him to start saying “yo!” at various points of his stump speeches.
To be fair, this same Zelig-like rhetorical phenomena has also been seen in Hillary with her Tammy Wynette accent in 1992, and that hypercreepy “Ain’t tarred no more” spiel at various black churches.
And (sad to say) the folks there at that church were thrilled with it, even though they were being both manipulated and pandered to. It’s like she suddenly broke into a disgusting imitation of of Al Jolsen singing “Mammy”!
How can anyone with a shred of self-respect enjoy such a display?
TexasJew on March 10, 2008 at 12:52 AM
Which of McCain’s wives are you talking about, TJ?
The one he dumped?
Or the trust fund toting beer girl who paid off his debts?

You’re spot on about the Dems. Dems can campaign from any pulpit they want, with any feigned accent they want. But if a Republican goes anywhere near a church, the Dems cry foul.

Whose side is Iraq really on?
By Diana West
This may explain why Iraqis rolled out the red carpet (literally) for Ahmadinejad, but not why we are sappy enough to pretend nothing significant happened-beginning with the infuriating fact that Ahmadinejad, on his ceremonial arrival in Baghdad, required minimal security compared to the furtive security gauntlet American leaders must run. There’s a reason, of course: Iranian-supplied bombs and rockets endanger American presidents, not Iranian ones.
At the Iraqi presidential palace, Mr. Ahmadinejad was greeted with multiple kisses from Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. (Blech.) An Iraqi military honor guard-make that a US-trained Iraqi military honor guard saluted the two leaders. An Iraqi military band-make that a US-trained Iraqi military band-also played the Iranian and the Iraqi anthems. “Call me Uncle Jalal,” Mr. Talabani told Ahmadinejad. “Iraqis don’t like Americans,” Mr. Ahmadinejad told the world. And so went Iran’s “brotherly” visit to Iraq, as if US protests (and U.S. casualties) over Iran’s violent subversion of the country didn’t exist. There were political meetings, gas, oil and electrical agreements, and an Iranian interest-free $1 billion loan.
To cap things off, Iraq and Iran issued a joint statement condemning Israel, America’s bona fide ally in the region, for taking belated action in Gaza to stop Hamas from firing Iranian-supplied rockets into Israeli towns.
The fact is, this unsuitable ménage isn’t unique to Iraq. Desperately naive American courtships across the Middle East follow similar patterns of hypocrisy, deceit and danger. From Saudi Arabia to Egypt, artificial, if costly, American “alliances” are mocked and trashed by such countries’ aid and abetment of jihad. Just this week, The Washington Times reported that oil-rich Qatar is massively underwriting Hamas. At the same time, Qatar-which hosts a colossal pre-positioning base for the U.S. military is supposed to be a “moderate” Islamic ally of ours. What next permanent U.S. military bases in a Shiite-Kurdish satellite of Iran?
I wonder whether we will ever walk out on these destructive relationships and recover our self-respect.

Gee, no one informed me that Gen. Paetraus, a current war hero, had gotten into the race. Because was it not Gen. Paetraus “who basically authored AND the men and women of the military who fought in The Surge? McCain is a politician; not a god. However, BO’s supporters do think him a god.

It’s interesting how this Barack Hussein Obama quote comes out now, with the picture improving in Iraq. It gives him cover both for November and for, God forbid, if he becomes President and has to actually deal with the issue. The troops are staying in Iraq, and he will be viewed as “trying to clean up the mess the Republican administration made.” Of course, if McCain wins, he will be pictured as “continuing the same disastrous policy.”
But this might make for some fun at the Democrat Convention. Such items might just “encourage” the “peace” demonstrators to “express themselves” in some very intense ways.

“the chosen one” your temperament and “vocabulary” seem in line with your “moderate” candidate. I do expect politicians to occasionally have different policy conclusions then us mere electorate, oh and us in the evil “private sector”; I guess Cindy’s Daddy’s company was from the “public” sector, but for a, now self-proclaimed ‘conservative’ instead of the self-proclaimed ‘maverick,’ Senor McCain doesn’t just disagree with us low-life voters but calls us “nativists” and such as well as falling for the Global-Warming-Cooling-Man-Made-Cow-Farts-Hoax and wants to, surprise, tax us further. Different from BO or czarina how? National Security. BO too power hungry to piss off the entire military on day one….Would The Straight Talk Express have be taxed too for all it’s contribution to “climate change” supported by Lieberman and McCain or are those taxes just for us “voters?”

The fact is…I’ve read about as much hate here from commenters as I have at the KOS lately. There’s a real air of incivility here that is encouraged by the attitude of the most prolific writer of this blog.

I agree with you completely. I don’t think McCain deserves the Republican nomination, and I don’t think this is over yet. Dual party do-overs in Florida and Michigan could bring McCain below the “clinch” threshold again, and with either Romney or Huckabee revived, McCain might not obtain the delegates necessary to “clinch”. Second look at a brokered convention.
I was sincere when I said that I respect your decision to vote for Romney. I was just curious if you actually preferred Romney’s stand on the issues over Huckabee’s stand on the issues, or if it was more a matter that you just didn’t trust Huckabee no matter what his written stand on the issues. I really would appreciate a reply.
Thanks in advance.

OBAMA = LIAR I believe he said this back in 2003 or 2004. Not only has he flopped or flipped on this issue, he has LIED, saying he has ALWAYS BEEN AGAINST THE WAR. a typical liberal Democrat politician.
THIS is EXACTLY WHY America need 7 more months of looking CLOSELY at Barack Hussein Obama – it will show he is a liar.
