Video: The Glacier triumphant

Double digits in Ohio and, just at the very minute I’m writing this, a narrow victory in Texas declared by all the networks. I feel like a new father whose wife just gave birth to a healthy, vindictive, Machiavellian baby girl. Think Jonah Goldberg’s sorry about having put this column to bed early?

Eh, she’ll still lose. But it’ll be nice to have the Messiah bleed a bit more before the resurrection, be it from new and ever more exciting unforced errors or having those 50 secret superdelegates who were apparently all set to praise his holy name back in play. Bill Richardson, who declared not two days ago that he who hath the most delegates at the close of business today shall be the nominee, is already dragging her out from under the bus. How excited is she to keep this going? The Pennsylvania primary’s on April 22; Chelsea has an event scheduled there tomorrow.

Exit question one: What physical form will Chris Matthews’s grief take? Just tears, or full-on heart palpitations? Exit question two: Who’ll get more credit for Her Majesty’s revival, Lorne Michaels or Rush Limbaugh? And exit question three: “Yes we will”?

What physical manifestation will Chris Matthews’s grief take?

Hillaroids.

Defector01 on March 5, 2008 at 1:02 AM

And exit question three: “Yes we will”?

I thought that was the “smartest”, turn of phrase.. “if you will”

However, “Yes she will, Raise your Taxes.. ” etc, etc, etc..

Chakra Hammer on March 5, 2008 at 1:02 AM

Just think of all the money they’ll spend attacking each other instead of McCain.

I love the idea that the civil war continues…

Not so sure how I like the thought of facing both of them on the same ticket.

Purple Fury on March 5, 2008 at 1:04 AM

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. This is easily the most screwed-up, messed up primary season in my short life. I’ve never seen the political fortunes of so many people decided by the weak-stream media elites.

Rush will never let anyone forget it was him.
Maybe “Yes we will” can be replaced by Palantine’s “We are the people.”

Hope Obama’s got his Dramamine ready — the spin the Clinton people are about to take his campaign on will have Barak and his followers releasing statements by tomorrow denying claims their candidate on his last legs and is thinking about abandoning his campaign. And it will be just as fun to watch the game of chicken played by many of the liberal pundits between now and Pennsylvania, not knowing if they should stay welded to the Obama camp because he still has the delegate count on his side, or if Obama Fever has broken among the masses and it’s time to scramble back to Hillary before its too late and they get cut out of the insiders loop as punishment during the general election (MSNBC ought to be the best place to watch this panic attack play itself out).

Exit 3

Yes, she will, and she will lose to McCain.
Remember Mitt’s great line — it will come back — “I can’t imagine Bill in the White House with nothing to do”

She/he will bring the base back to McCain.

And let me go one further — MCain will not be able to get Shamnesty through the Senate if he is not in it… He’ll never get the chance to sign it.

Save this for future reference.

DocKen on March 5, 2008 at 1:51 AM

Hillary’s gotta be hung like a horse.

No disagreement on that part, but is she a gelding or would that be Obama after tonight??

evenkeel on March 5, 2008 at 1:57 AM

Much as I’d love to have seen the stake driven into the black, oozing tumor that is the Hildebeest’s “heart” tonight, and much as I believe that the Conventional Wisdom that B. Hussein Obama is “hard to beat in the general” is utter, undiluted bunk, I find great comfort in knowing that the internecine warfare of the National Socialist Democrat Party will go on for much longer as a result of tonight.

It’ll be fun to watch.

And few things give me more pleasure than watching my enemies suffer. And suffer. And suffer some more.

Misha I on March 5, 2008 at 1:59 AM

Amazing - she has the borderlands to thank in El Paso and San Antonio. Huge victories there negated Obama’s triumphs in Houston and Dallas. This glacier ain’t melted quite yet.

Hell of a night. I loved watching Chris Matthews, Keith Olberman and Tim Russett getting used to the fact that the Dems will be hammering each other for weeks, while McCain will zing them both. Sweet night. Plus, the so-called “journalists” in the tank for Obama are looking pissed and spinning like tops about how Obama has all the delegates, blah, blah, blah. Greatest Democrat Primary, evah.

What are they going to do about Michigan and Florida, since they will need those states for the general? Think of all those Democratic dollars going to finance do overs and the knock down dragged out fight.

I would like to take the time to thank Howard Dean for such an entertaining show.

Check out these two humdinger—too-good-to-spike—comments I sent to last-night’s Hot Air Live Blog; they never showed:

Hugh Hewitt (at his site) asks whether Rush will hold the Bible at Hillary’s Inauguration if–due to Rush’s prompting–Republican crossover gives her a new lease on life, and she ends up winning the nomination and the November election. Exit question: Will AP be forced to stand next to Rush as Her Highness is coronated?

New Poll! Those of you who pine for Hillary’s resurgence: If she wins in November, will you A) Say “C’est la Vie;” B) Commit seppuku as the only way to maintain honor; C) Be fine with it, because you like Hill’ better than ‘Bama anyway?

Exit question: Could it be that AP—Hot Air’s resident Hillary-backer—was taking comment moderating duties last night? ;-)

Whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad.

Anti-conservative, anti-first amendment, pro illegal serfs, Juan Plantation McVano will be the conservative liberal Republican party nominee and in Texas, Republicans flock to vote for Hillary Clinton.

For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk; the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

darkpixel on March 5, 2008 at 5:35 AM

I think we will find that Rush (and Allah) had an effect in this one.

Just looking at my own county here in Texas election results. In the democratic primary 8000 people voted on the presidential candidates but didn’t even cast a vote on the senatorial race or any other race. I beleive those were the cross-overs like myself that voted for Hillary.

Her margin of victory in my county…..4000 votes.

WE DID IT!!!

OK, but that’s not really a selling point. That same “perk” applies to everyone who’s running right now.

logis on March 5, 2008 at 6:09 AM

The Democratic race is now going to be ugly and brutal. From here on end, these two are going to go for the jugular each and every chance they get. By the time it is over, I think what each of them is going to do to each other is going to convince the American people that if there is one thing that is a surety, it is that NEITHER of them is qualified to be President.

Somewhere, McPain is giggling.

pilamaye on March 5, 2008 at 6:10 AM

Hillary’s non-victory on Tuesday night - math doesn’t lie on delegates

Hillary LOST Texas in the delegate count. Of the 126 delegates available from the primary she won 64 - 62. Obama is going to win the caucus there with a net of +7 or more. That gives Barack at least a +5 delegate win in Texas.

In Ohio the split of the possible 141 delegates is Hillary 73 - Obama 68. That is +5 for Hillary.

In Vermont out of 15 possible it’s Obama 9, Hillary 6, +3 for Obama.

In Rhode Island out of 21 it’s Clinton 12, Obama 8, +4 for Hillary (1 delegate outstanding)

So as of this moment Hillary Clinton has a NET GAIN of 1 delegate from all four primaries last night. Big momentum!

Will the media now report the facts accurately? Hmmm…

Barack will easily erase that HUGE 1 (or 2) delegate gain by Hillary last night in Wyoming this Saturday and next Tuesday in Mississippi.

olympian2008 on March 5, 2008 at 6:23 AM

Lorne Michaels or Rush Limbaugh?

Foolish question.
This is a Rush-0-Centric world…he thinks everything reported, analyzed, predicted, is based upon his program.
He reminds me of those “predictors” of the future, they make so many predictions, that when one finally becomes true that’s all you hear about.
He has stated:
Obama will win
Hillary will win
McCain will win
Looks like he is right again.
He has stated that:
Michelle (Mssssss Obama) will hurt him
Will help him
He has stated that:
Bill will hurt Hillary
Will help Hillary
He has stated that:
McCain’s independence will hurt him
Will help him
Gee, Rush is always right…

jimbo2008 on March 5, 2008 at 7:20 AM

olympian2008 on March 5, 2008 at 6:23 AM

You are of course correct that Hillary didn’t make much progress in the delegate count, but that’s hardly the point. With three popular vote victories, two in important states, she now has the justification to continue the race. And because, as you so rightly note, she can’t hope to outpoint Obama between now and the convention, she has to go for the knockout. She has to keep throwing haymakers and low blows at your guy, who hasn’t shown that he handles adversity well. He’s going to have to fire back and bring up all the old Clinton baggage, and the Olympian Messiah who has claimed to be above such mortal concerns will start to seem much more like a venal Chicago pol over the next two months. Your guy had the chance to put her away tonight, and he failed. So the fight will go the distance, and at the end of the 15th round whoever emerges will have to jump right into the big ring against John McCain, who will have been resting up for several months. Last night was an objectively bad night for Obama, no matter what the delegate count says.

Dudley Smith on March 5, 2008 at 7:37 AM

But it’ll be nice to have the Messiah bleed a bit more before the resurrection, be it from new and ever more exciting unforced errors or having those 50 secret superdelegates who were apparently all set to praise his holy name back in play.

Someone suggested ED, but that gives him the benefit of considerable doubt. I think he crapped himself.

They’ll give it to Lorne (already did), but Rush will rip it from his weakling fingers.

Three notable factors:

1. Limbaugh’s influence exists contrary to MSM death wish.

2. Because of disenfranchised conservatives suckered with the Democrat gift of no choice McCain, Hillary got Texas IN SPITE OF the huge NO/LA black population influx post-Katrina who remain on welfare in Texas.

3. McCain had better stop alienating conservatives and GIVE US our platform on his ticket to ensure our vote in the general. We’ve proven our own independence with the ballot. Any further cuddling his liberal ID signifies his own forfeiture of support and success [succsupp].

It’s also needed to prevent a Jimmy Carter level disaster in the international arena.

I happened to be watching Hillary give her speech in Columbus on Fox News last night. The funniest (and unintentional) thing that she said was…

“Ohio knows how to pick a president.” (In my mind: George Bush?)

Later, she “clarified” it by talking about Presidents winning Ohio and stuff… but it was funny while it lasted.
