BO doesn’t get it.

Every blog is a culture in itself. The culture is reflective of the values and ethics of the moderators and the owner. The INTERNET is like a public street on a global scale and it does not have a moderator or owner to impart their values and ethics establishing a culture.

No one is exposed to the culture of Huffington’s blog unless they chose to go to it. This is unlike the the Nazis in that the Nazis took control of the media once they were in power. Hufington only controlss her own blog. The world (and the INTERNET) is a big place.

BO is demonstrating that he is only marginally familiar with the communincation and information revolution that is occuring.

So, she is only training her “army” at her blog in the ways of hate, much like Hitler did with the Hitler Youth, and the SA troops before them?

These troops, once trained are supposed to do what?
Keep that hatred consolidated to that one specific blog?
Keep that anger inside and not let it be shown in public?

Mass training in the ways of hate and demonization of others, is a very dangerous thing and should be avoided.

I concur.
The one part that may not be accurate, is BO does know more about the internet then he lets on. You can bet that he (his staff) search the internet for stories relating to him. He knows the internet from one position…how it relates to him. And because the internet does not revolve around him, he has a minor interest and knowledge.

Maybe this is a petty distinction to make, but I think the crucial point here is that these “just words” are not being spoken – they are being typed on a website by someone hiding behind a pseudonym (like me!). If these idiots were out in public shouting death threats through a megaphone, then you could easily round them up and see how far the ‘free-speech’ argument gets you in court. For now, it seems to me at least, they conform to John Gabriel’s Greater Internet Dickwad Theory, except replace ‘Normal Person’ with ‘Left-wing Idiot’

Sorry Allah, but no amount of O’Reilly calling the HuffPo bloggers Nazis is going to make me line up on their side. Mostly because I wonder in some regard if most of those commenters on those pages have nazi opinions and tendencies, just instead of Jews (though I imagine Zionists would be the correct liberal PC word for it) on their own its republicans, conservatives, libertarians, moderate democrats and most non-neutered white men. Do those comments mean Huffington’s a nazi? No, but you guys do well enough of a job policing your site, as does LGF and Ace and others, that not cleaning up those comments and/or banning the speakers is tacit agreement.

I’m sorry but how many times do they all need to say that they want us all dead and dismembered and whatnot before you at least listen and worry with some seriousness? Or is this very much like the 1930s with the Jews of Germany who kept saying “We’ve seen this before, it can’t be that bad or any worse then before”?
