Video: Blogger moved to tears by awesomeness of new machine gun
posted at 2:50 pm on March 5, 2008 by Allahpundit
It’s like the iPod of automatic weapons. Enjoy the idea of things getting sufficiently “nasty” while you’re out for a stroll that you’d need one of these in your back pocket.
Somewhere right now, someone’s showing this video to Justice Kennedy. And his vote is being decided.

Blowback

“Survival of the fittest” is so passe. Welcome to the era of “survival of the guy carrying the concealed machine gun”.
29Victor on March 5, 2008 at 5:09 PM
I mentioned that further up the post; but it wasn’t a lunchbox, it was a tapedeck/ghettoblaster thing.
Frozen Tex on March 5, 2008 at 5:16 PM
What size and number batteries does it take?
dentalque on March 5, 2008 at 5:17 PM
Likely just lithium 123A’s for the light.
Frozen Tex on March 5, 2008 at 5:23 PM
My inner commando just smiled in deep satisfaction.
spmat on March 5, 2008 at 5:23 PM
And who doesn’t want to go on a walk with one of these babies?
Walk the dog, check the mail, take out a few dozen people…AND it’s a flashlight!
heh…that thing is COOL!
JetBoy on March 5, 2008 at 5:28 PM
Was that Abe Lincoln selling the gun?
StuLongIsland on March 5, 2008 at 5:35 PM
Is that a Magpul in your pocket, or are you just excited to see me?

Gahh! So cool!
emmaline1138 on March 5, 2008 at 6:35 PM
Sweet. Just have to get a dog to justify getting this. Oh heck, I think I would get it just to make some liberals wet their pants.
I didn’t know the amish had graduated to making useful weapons now.
aikidoka on March 5, 2008 at 6:52 PM
Given that it’s a prototype, I wonder how many takes that promo took until they made it through all the *click*bend*snap*s without it hanging up.
eeyore on March 5, 2008 at 7:06 PM
Dude, this is so old even Ace has had it up.
Seriously, the neutered semi-auto version for civilians will be a pretty weak consolation prize if they ever manufacture it.
clancy_wiggum on March 5, 2008 at 7:16 PM
Just think how impressed the babes would be if I had one of those.
The Whistler on March 5, 2008 at 7:20 PM
Awesome Glock mod. But, not going into production? Glockblocker
Your knife costs more than my pocket gun. I like the scarab or Halo III.
The Race Card on March 5, 2008 at 7:22 PM
Fine for going for a walk, in FALLUJAH!
Neo on March 5, 2008 at 7:41 PM
Ain’t read all the comments, but I’d like to point out AP that it’s been illegal to produce full-auto weapons for the American public since 1986 (Why the hell Reagan did that I’ll never understand),so at best we’ll get a semi-auto version.
Frantic Freddie on March 5, 2008 at 8:58 PM
What’s next … a wallet sized Claymore? It’s cute but I would rather have a 357 revolver for the close-in work. I am old school.
David in ATL on March 5, 2008 at 9:28 PM
I’ll take two!!!!
Yakko77 on March 5, 2008 at 9:29 PM
Hell yeah!
purpleslog on March 5, 2008 at 9:36 PM
It’s a Glock in a box.
Pretty cool, but Not.A.Machine.Gun.For.
Sovereigns.Civilians. Peasants.A machine gun for the ‘peasant-class’ would have had to be manufactured before May 1986, and registered as a transferrable NFA firearm with the ATF before it could be sold or transferred.
Don’t worry though, our rights were never really “infringed”; we have been merely “precluded” from enjoying them. (Preclusion, after all is so much better than infringement, which is evidently far better than disenfranchisement).
Really, is registration such a bother that you are wouldn’t agree to surprise raids / searches at any hour of the day?
The thought of my kids torn away from my loving arms IS a bit bothersome, while my business, my rights and my freedoms are being padlocked away forever.
Oh well, I suppose it doesn’t help to be too sentimental about things like that.
I think our A Bill of Rights would make a difference if we, in the present day, were able to again to ratify the Constitution.
I mean couples do restate their vows sometimes, don’t they?
USCitizen on March 5, 2008 at 9:48 PM
It really is cool fun looking. For normal defensive purposes, I can draw from my carry holster faster than he can remove that from his pocket and open it. Held as a flashlight in hand after dark would deploy quick though. But who goes for a night walk in the city with a flashlight on? My light stays on my belt until there’s a reason to use it. I can carry a total of 45 rounds in 3 magazines and nobody can see jack. If he sat down at a restaurant with that in his back pocket it would lift up any cover garment in a bad way. It’s great for the collection or for a conversation piece. Besides, it would suck to ultimately conceal all that awesomeness.
Buck Turgidson on March 5, 2008 at 9:57 PM
Man, I have got to get me one of these. :-)

“Gets nasty, get down to business!”
Love this.
How about a coffee travel mug version?
moxie_neanderthal on March 6, 2008 at 8:29 AM
I have an FA-18 SuperHornet that fits in my shirt pocket.
Akzed on March 6, 2008 at 9:20 AM
This is NOT a machine gun. It’s a semi-automatic (self-loading) pistol with a fancy stock, a large magazine, and a longer barrel. Everyone relax.
