Exit polls are just starting to trickle in. Nothing yet by way of hard data but — surprise — voters in both Texas and Ohio find Obama to be more electable, per Fox News. We’ve had the first reports of dirty tricks too, courtesy of pro-Hillary TalkLeft. And Huck is complaining about the lack of energy on behalf of McCain among the GOP base, even as Maverick prepares to put him to sleep tonight and turn his attention fully to the, ahem, purple states.
Ed and I are going to try to co-liveblog it via the Cover It Live widget below. (Thanks to Patrick Ishmael for the tip.) It’s our first time using it so bear with us. Things should heat up starting at 7 p.m. ET. While you wait, enjoy the results of this poll suggesting whom voters really trust at 3 a.m. Exit quotation one: “I didn’t get my hands dirty making all those good things happen in the ’90s.” Exit quotation two: America is a country that’s “just downright mean.”

Extremists are always shocked when they discover the majority of the voting public are not also extremists.
Moderates win and extremists scratch their heads, trying to figure out what happened, time and time again.

He was just 35 when in 1996 he won his first bid for
political office. Even many of his staunchest supporters, such as
Black, still resent the strong-arm tactics Obama employed to win his
seat in the Illinois Legislature.
Obama hired fellow Harvard Law alum and election law expert Thomas
Johnson to challenge the nominating petitions of four other candidates,
including the popular incumbent, Alice Palmer, a liberal activist who
had held the seat for several years, according to an April 2007 Chicago
Tribune report.
Obama found enough flaws in the petition sheets — to appear on the
ballot, candidates needed 757 signatures from registered voters living
within the district — to knock off all the other Democratic
contenders. He won the seat unopposed.

I guess what I was trying to say is how disgusted I am with how the power brokers use the media to steer and dumb down the masses, as well as sensationalizing non-events and giving celebrity status to politicians that they control.
Example, in the latest poll 70-80% of Americans feel that ILLEGAL Immigration is a problem, but in all the debates, what have they been talking about, Immigration, not ILLEGAL Immigration.
And even tonight, the pundits, “…. well this just proves immigration isn’t the hot topic it used to be.” Notice again, no word on ILLEGAL Immigration.
It is subtle, but so effective…. the “nashing of my teeth” has been a continuous process, phroniesis, just getting a chance to vent the steam……..

Huckabee gives a good speech (like BO?) but he was a whiney spoiled sport and I’m glad to see him go.
He poked Romney for no reason just because he is a wealthy, good lookin’ guy. His anti-mormonism was reprehensible. Christian leader my a$$. Good riddance.
ctmom on March 4, 2008 at 9:37 PM
Because he’s a prick. He should have dropped out instead of Romney. He set up backroom deals with McCain from day one. WV was the biggest, most ridiculous of these deals. Huckabee and McShamnesty…teaming up to silence the conservatives.

So….. wanting a canidate that promises to enforce the laws of the United States is extremist?
I’m not buying it, nor your arguement. Are union members who’s dues go to liberal democrats against thier wishes extremist if they have a different point of view? Are Latino voters in Southern California who want border enforcement extremists? No, I didn’t think so….

There is NO way that Huckabee will be veep. Again, McCain’s veep choice, whomever it turns out to be, won’t play any major role in his administration. McCain’s too much of a leader…any veep won’t be similar to, say, Cheney’s role in Bush’s admin.

Right. Giving legalization (oh, there’s a small fine!) to millions of law breakers isn’t amnesty. Let’s not start this debate, as many people just came into McCain’s camp and can easily be driven right out.

It would look so much better if McCain was reading from notes and not a teleprompter. It really IS like the Oscars in that it’s obvious the presenter doesn’t seem to have seen the material before, or at least has only seen it once.

‘Cause he’s a fraud and a sham when it comes down to it. He is so for amnesty. You know dang well that if that immigration bill he concocted had passed, no changes would have really been made in the border. Nor is anyone going to gather up all the illegal aliens, deport them when their new-fangled work cards expire, and make them “get in line like everybody else.” Even now, as the MSM suppresses everything about the border to protect BOTH political sides, the so-called border wall is being phased it.
Liberty is dead…get used to it.
