Exit polls are just starting to trickle in. Nothing yet by way of hard data but — surprise — voters in both Texas and Ohio find Obama to be more electable, per Fox News. We’ve had the first reports of dirty tricks too, courtesy of pro-Hillary TalkLeft. And Huck is complaining about the lack of energy on behalf of McCain among the GOP base, even as Maverick prepares to put him to sleep tonight and turn his attention fully to the, ahem, purple states.

Ed and I are going to try to co-liveblog it via the Cover It Live widget below. (Thanks to Patrick Ishmael for the tip.) It’s our first time using it so bear with us. Things should heat up starting at 7 p.m. ET. While you wait, enjoy the results of this poll suggesting whom voters really trust at 3 a.m. Exit quotation one: “I didn’t get my hands dirty making all those good things happen in the ’90s.” Exit quotation two: America is a country that’s “just downright mean.”

SouthernGent on March 4, 2008 at 8:15 PM

dmann on March 4, 2008 at 8:14 PM

Of course. Couldn’t very well deny His Holiness an extra shot at victory, now could he? The fact that people elsewhere still have the same closing time, while his support area has more, can’t possibly help skew the election.

What’s with Cuyahoga county that B.O.’s people want to keep the polls open late?

darkpixel on March 4, 2008 at 8:23 PM

If I were to crossover and vote in the democratic primary I would lose my mind once the curtain closes with which person to vote for. On the one hand my intense hatred of Hillary and my reflex to vote against her and my overwhelming desire to see democrats in fight until the convention. So I’m glad I don’t have to make the choice

Jacob Hammond on March 4, 2008 at 8:23 PM

dmann on March 4, 2008 at 8:22 PM

CNN says Hillary is carrying the Latino vote. No surprise there.

ihasurnominashun on March 4, 2008 at 8:23 PM

Hillary is carrying the rural areas by big margins while Obama is carrying urban areas in texas by smaller margins

William Amos on March 4, 2008 at 8:24 PM

AP: Wow — fully 10% of the Democratic vote in Texas and Ohio was from Republicans crossing over.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t necessarily benefit Hillary. As we’ve learned, there are Republicans who think it’d be a brilliant idea to promote The Messiah over Cankles.

Enough of his supporters haven’t been able to vote yet and it’s allegedly a stronghold. Er, I mean, there’s a weather condition problem and he’s truly concerned about all Americans getting to exercise their civil duty.

Interesting bit from the Fox exit data:

More than half say they would be dissatisfied if their candidate does not win the nomination.

Can someone explain to me why you guys mostly want Hillary to beat Osama Hussein? Bottom line is..if Hillary is the nominee, the Dem base will solidify and the Clinton machine will soothe the disgruntled Osama voters and will pound McCain..
If Hussein wins.. its already becoming evident that Hussein’s base is built of soggy waferboard, and judging by the NAFTA caper, could be a feast for McCain.

malkinmania on March 4, 2008 at 8:36 PM

Team Messiah keep harping on to Team Ice Queen that they can’t mathematically win. IQ can beat the Messiah, but it is going to take a lot of negative campaigning that sticks.

I don’t necessary want her to win the nomination. At this point, I just want the Dhim primary to be as long as can be and bloodier than all hell. I’d be even happier if there was a contentious messy convention. Anything to keep them fighting each other and spending money.
