Exit polls are just starting to trickle in. Nothing yet by way of hard data but — surprise — voters in both Texas and Ohio find Obama to be more electable, per Fox News. We’ve had the first reports of dirty tricks too, courtesy of pro-Hillary TalkLeft. And Huck is complaining about the lack of energy on behalf of McCain among the GOP base, even as Maverick prepares to put him to sleep tonight and turn his attention fully to the, ahem, purple states.

Ed and I are going to try to co-liveblog it via the Cover It Live widget below. (Thanks to Patrick Ishmael for the tip.) It’s our first time using it so bear with us. Things should heat up starting at 7 p.m. ET. While you wait, enjoy the results of this poll suggesting whom voters really trust at 3 a.m. Exit quotation one: “I didn’t get my hands dirty making all those good things happen in the ’90s.” Exit quotation two: America is a country that’s “just downright mean.”

“Why was Michelle Obama hiding behind that pillar during Obama’s speech? - SouthernGent on March 5, 2008 at 12:27 AM”

Didn’t watch it, but I guess she saw John McCain’s wife during his speech, along with size of her pearl necklace, and maybe didn’t dress for the occasion ……..

Seven Percent Solution on March 5, 2008 at 12:31 AM

Oh, and she doesn’t have any experience, except in the eyes of her puppet-head followers.

fogw on March 5, 2008 at 12:23 AM

Yeah, Democrat and Independent voters.

Her pathetic campaign might be starting to resonate with her base, while Obama is just now starting to be questioned about his policies.

It looks like cross-over voters played a much bigger role in this primary than anyone could have foreseen, if the Democrats figure that out then Hillary won’t gain too much momentum.

A bloody battle does us good, but a party suddenly unified behind the Clinton’s is a fate worse than death.

Keep looking, someday you will find the perfect politician and then you can feel good voting for them. I believe such a person was last seen…ummm…never, but don’t let that get in the way of pie-in-the-sky righteousness.

Bishop on March 5, 2008 at 12:18 AM

Yeah your right, It is too much to expect our leaders to do their job, put american interest above their own, follow the will of the people, subsitute time instead of cash to win elections, and to forswear taking bribes for votes, taking expensive junkets around the world with our money, giving cushy jobs to their friends and to show up at hearings, votes etc.

So now expecting someone to come to work and do the job we pay them for, to not commit criminal acts while on the job, to not lie, cheat and steal is “pie-in-the-sky righteousness”. I see.

I think you guys are wrong about this. Hillary needs Obama for VP. That takes care of that problem.

The best thing to happen out of this, is that this fight drags on and Obama wins. Hillary does all the things to Obama that the GOP will not be able to get away with, and then she fades away.

Obama does not need Hillary for VP.

The DNC-Texas set up the Dem process here. It has three tiers….

1.Popular Vote = some delegates
2.Caucus = some delegates
3.Super-delegates

Counties with HISTORICAL records of strong Dem support receive MORE weight, in the delegate count, then Rep districts. So in one county you might have 50,000 votes = 5 delegates, but the next county might have 50,000 votes = 7 delegates.

Don’t blame it on Texas. Blame it on the DNC.
