Bride of Messiah: America is “just downright mean”

posted at 7:06 pm on March 4, 2008 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | printer-friendly

Oh, now. I’m sure all she meant is “America, in its entirety, under George Bush is downright mean.” Or under Hillary Clinton, or anyone else except Barack Obama.

That’d be okay, of course.

Obama begins with a broad assessment of life in America in 2008, and life is not good: we’re a divided country, we’re a country that is “just downright mean,” we are “guided by fear,” we’re a nation of cynics, sloths, and complacents. “We have become a nation of struggling folks who are barely making it every day,” she said, as heads bobbed in the pews. “Folks are just jammed up, and it’s gotten worse over my lifetime. And, doggone it, I’m young. Forty-four!”

Exit question: She’ll be running for senate in New York circa 2016, won’t she?

If anything, it is OBVIOUS that Michelle wears the pantsuits in that household and Barry is doing her bidding.

ihasurnominashun on March 4, 2008 at 7:10 PM

I think I said a couple of weeks ago that Michelle Obama is very definitely running for co-president and that does not bode well at all. Just try to imagine this woman sitting down with foreign heads of state. She’s the kind of person who will run her mouth no matter who’s sitting across the table from her, and we’ll be a laughing stock in no time.

Perhaps Michelle Obama could use a little Lesley Gore break.

There…..all better now?

I happen to agree with much of what Ms. Obama has to say.

Unfortunately, it’s her political philosophy that’s lead to this situation.

mylegsareswollen on March 4, 2008 at 8:36 PM

This is one militant black woman.

And I’m sure she got into magnet schools, college and law school because she is black, not in spite of it. Affirmative action and set asides. Who says America is unfair?

Andy in Agoura Hills on March 4, 2008 at 8:38 PM

That sure doesn’t sound like a message of hope.

Hey Barry:
You really wanna be President?

Lock the (self-censored) in the basement. She can probably survive on gin soaked raisins for the next 10 months.

Are we sure that Michelle Obama isn’t actually just a Clinton dirty trick?

I’m not joking when I say the more I see and hear of the Obamas the more I think Hillary wouldn’t be all that bad afterall.

It’s Super Tuesday and I am sick of this sniveling, self-absorbed spoiled brat.

You get into schools into which you did NOT deserve entry, you get jobs you did not deserve, you got big pay raises on your husband’s name, onto Boards of Directors, and life is worse for you now than 40 years ago?

And you’re not proud of your country?

Stick it, Michelle Obama.

With you not being worthy of all you have and not appreciating any of it, I am not proud of my country right now.

drjohn on March 4, 2008 at 8:50 PM

…or maybe he’s just whipped.

Bingo. The fact that he is running for the Presidency of the United States and this tendentious woman is still making speeches in his name is complete confirmation of complete whippitude!

I can just see it: “Honeybunch, since I’m running for President of the United States, do you think maybe you could just back off insulting of the people of the United States just a wee little…” Hey, put down that ashtray, Honeybunch!

Michelle Obama — The gift that keeps on giving…

eanax on March 4, 2008 at 9:08 PM

As much as the Obama people want to avoid the image of Barak as the black candidate for president instead of the all-inclusive presidential hopeful, Michelle’s going to do her darndest to stick that label on him, and right now she’s probably being a little circumspect in her remarks, given that Obama and Clinton are vying for the same group of Democrats in the primary. If her husband wins the nomination, her current comments are going to seem like peace, love and understanding compared to the big can of racial whupass she’s going to unleash against the McCain campaign in particular and anyone who would even think about voting Republican in general instead of for Barak in the November election.

jon1979 on March 4, 2008 at 9:10 PM

I can see how a person, looking objectively, could see whereby that when a totally unqualified person has been given affirmative action, had places reserved for them that they didn’t deserve, gotten jobs they were otherwise not qualifed for that there is something terribly wrong with the system that should be corrected. Yea, I could see that.

Redteam on March 4, 2008 at 9:11 PM

I did not read page 1 of the comments so forgive me if I am repetitive…this sniveling whining brat makes me sick. I came from a lower middle-class-blue-collar family and managed to make it all by myself without any special assistance from the government. Unlike Ms. Obama, I still have an ass-load of student loans since I did not fit into any special criteria which would warrant a subsidized education and no-one has offered me a job paying me 3x what I am worth. I guess I need to select a suitable husband or something…

They moan about how bad it is here. They repeatedly tell me what a s*&t country the U.S. is. They wail about health care, housing, urban sprawl, our continued racism, CEO salaries and on and on.

Mrs. Obama is merely preaching to her constituency. And – I sure hope that is all she ever gets to do: preach. God help us all if this duo makes it into the White House!

pbundy on March 4, 2008 at 9:45 PM

actually she probably had less opportunity considering she was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. So she had to work her but off for what she got and therefore has a pretty good right to complain about how hard things are.

crr6 on March 4, 2008 at 8:14 PM

Check out that Daily Mail article on poor Michelle’s “deprived” childhood. She grew up in a family of four, in a nice brick home in a well-kept neighborhood. Her father had a decent-paying job, and her mother stayed at home and took care of the two kids. Not much there that needed to be “overcome.”

Michelle bitches and moans because she actually had to pay back (gasp!) her school loans for Princeton and Harvard. What an outrageous imposition! No wonder she’s so angry and bitter at this country.

I don’t know what kind of alternate universe Michelle Obama lives in, but the vast majority of Americans — and that includes those of us who are white — do not have trust funds, nor do we have the million dollar+ income that Mr. and Mrs. Obama enjoy. Michelle’s “impoverished” childhood looks pretty good in comparison to the ones that so many of us had. My father used the GI bill to put himself through a state university. He went to school at night, worked during the day, and finished his B.S. in six years. My family (of seven) lived in a 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom house. My siblings and I used government loans and part-time jobs to help pay our way through college and grad school. (Unlike Michelle, none of us majored in sociology, or wrote our senior thesis on topics like: What it Feels Like to Be Me). We all worked our butts off, and we never considered ourselves anything but lucky and privileged to live in this country and have the opportunity to make something of ourselves.

Michelle Obama makes me sick. She has no right to complain about anything.

BacaDog on March 4, 2008 at 10:19 PM

As I have commented before and this, once again, confirms it.

Michelle Obama is one ethnically confused woman. Having been the recipient of ‘The Man’s’ largess in her early years, she refuses to acknowledge it and speaks as though it never happened because she might meet the wrath of her brotha’s and sista’s who would call her an Uncle Tom.

Although she is 44, she has managed to firmly plant her attitude back into the 60s as she thinks that, today, there is a Bull Conner and a fire hose waiting around each corner.

What America doesn’t need is a first lady with an ethnic attitude.

pocomoco on March 4, 2008 at 10:23 PM

“You’re looking at a young couple that’s just a few years out of debt,” Obama said. “See, because, we went to those good schools, and we didn’t have trust funds. I’m still waiting for Barack’s trust fund. Especially after I heard that Dick Cheney was s’posed to be a relative or something. Give us something here!”

Hey, at least she admits she’s looking for a handout. Talk about playing class warfare. Pretty clumsy. The where’s mine crowd always turn out to be the biggest gluttons. Indeed, according to family friends, Michelle’s father was a volunteer organiser for the city’s Democratic Party, a by-word for machine politics in America, and his loyalty was rewarded with a well-paid engineering job at Chicago’s water plant. Even before overtime, he earned $42,686 – 25 per cent more than High School teachers at the time.

My husband and I, COMBINED, barely make $40,000 a year now. You wanna know why, because we choose to. I chose to continue my education, much like MObama, and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree after going to school for 8 years to become a doctor. My husband is working full time and is also a full time college student. Guess what, we are probably two of the happiest people you will ever meet. We have our health, our families, each other, and we are PROUD and GRATEFUL to live and work in the good ol’ USA. Do we have our problems, absolutely. I guess I missed the announcement that life was supposed to be easy.

Dr. Conservative on March 5, 2008 at 12:05 AM

I forgot to add that we have a large amount of student loans as well. Again, this is because we CHOSE to have them. No one forced us to attend the schools we did (we CHOSE them) for the length of time we did or to take out as much money as we did (again our CHOICE). We knew that it would take HARD WORK and DEDICATION to get where we are and taking out some student loan debt was certainly not going to stand in our way!

Michelle is pathetic. She is apparently still fighting battles from her days in the Ivy League, where she felt somehow inferior to rich kids with trust funds, and developed a weird sense of entitlement, based on her affirmative action admission.

She now gets paid $350,000 a year to do nothing by another elitist school, which also paid her husband to lecture on a subject that he’s unqualified to teach, and might want to brush up on for his gig in the Senate.

They made a million bucks last year, and she acts like she’s shopping for ham hocks and greens for dinner and wondering how to pay the rent. This chick is an idiot.

Patriot811 on March 5, 2008 at 2:11 AM

Overall, she is truly the very definition of an elitist limousine liberal speaking truth to power. She’s also a militant angry black woman who gives me the impression that while she seems to ‘have it all’, she’s pissed because she had to work for it, to one degree or another. After all, she may be “young”, but she’s old enough to have grown up when Affirmitive Action was in its prime, and peaked.

But like most stereotypical women, she can’t make up her mind about anything. She’s proud of America “for the first time” just days ago, now she’s frothing at the mouth about how terrible America is, and as the stereotype goes, she’s also -wrong.

It’s the politics of her and those socialists like her who have lead to a dependency on the government/nanny state. And that dependency keeps people like her husband in office.

This is all by design; in fact, I’d wager that just about every word, written and spoken by these two in the past 20 years was carefully crafted with this “Run for the Roses” in mind.

They have nothing in common, other than the color of their skin, with the inner-city church crowd, so they had to re-invent their history to identify with the “oppressed” masses, Saul Alinsky style. Theirs was a life of relative ease compared to the impoverished welfare-mother, the blue-collar union worker and the imprisoned (to use the categories most frequently lamented over by Mr. O) — so Mrs. O invents the bogus “hardship” of student loans, and Mr. O shouts out that he was abandoned by his father at age 2 (neglecting to state that his father skipped off to Harvard, and from there to a government job in Kenya; that his mother re-married and that his grandparents raised him from age 10 in middle-class comfort that included a pricey private school in Hawaii). No, we are to believe that he was abandoned to roam the streets like some inner-city welfare kid whose drug-crazed dad went down for 20 years for armed robbery.

It’s all part of the fictionalized narrative that his deluded followers are swallowing whole, without question or doubt, and it’s all by design. Praise the messiah who knows we are all oppressed now!

I am black, 40, private schools, etc. Got no job right now (been tough in fact). I’ve got plenty of debt and enough to be depressed about.

NEVER FOR A MOMENT, EVEN WHEN I AM ANGRY WITH GOD, DO I NOT RECOGNIZE THIS IS THE GREATEST NATION THAT HAS EVER EXISTED.

Amen.

You two folks are one of the reasons I joined up to serve my country. I never knew either of you, but your attitudes make me glad I served in your defense. baldilocks, you and I have shared some of the same pride and heartache of serving our country without full recognition for that service. Black Americans like you two are the reason there still is a united America today, and why I have hope that my kids will never know what a racial divide is, or know what Civil War can bring. I am grateful you are alive today, and set such a fine example for my kids, and for yours. Thank you both. I’d go to war to defend you any day, anytime, anywhere.

If she was not Barack Hussein O’Jesus’s wife, would anyone listen to her for two minutes? (Who’s that remind you of?) She’s like a lottery winner who henceforth considers himself a financial genius.

Ai caramba.

Imagine her a First Lady. Enough said.

Tell us what you really think, toots.

Boy, I thought Terri Heinz-Kerry was a gift to the republicans in 04. But this woman is the gift that keeps on giving. This has to be the most militant and racist black person I have come across in politics in a long time. B. Hussein must check his balls on the mantle when he gets home, and asks her if he can have them back when he goes out. She does wear the pants and the jock in that family.

If America is so mean then why did it provide Ms. Obama’s husband the opportunity to run for president and elevate Ms. Obama to wife of a senator (not an elected official or official anything).

Thank her for her viewpoints but they do not change the fact that she is a Senator’s wife whose views sound good, but do not contain any real (implementable) solutions.

So this is our choice:

First Lady Michelle Obama

or

First ‘Laddie’ Bill Clinton

or

President Juan McAmnesty

God help us…

rockbend on March 5, 2008 at 9:36 AM

I should add that I will vote for Juan but I still fear for our country.

rockbend on March 5, 2008 at 9:40 AM

Michelle: Barry, here’s the list of people I want on the Supreme Court.

Barry: Yes dear.

Where the members of her husband’s tribe live in places like this.

Ok, OT I know, but my God how sad. I cried when I watched that.

It just kills me. It really does. Liberals think they’re the party of tolerance and peace and free love and cheap drugs.

But you know what the truth is? You know what the single core difference between conservatives and liberals is?

Simply this: conservatives are eternal optimists. Realists not idealists, but optimists, people with faith in humanity (and perhaps something greater). Liberals are all, by definition, pessimists. Dour, self-hating, misanthropic, anti-patriotic pessimists.

Michelle Obama is a classic example.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…

I shall fear no evil.

That’d be okay, of course.

Of course!

America is “just downright mean”

As illustrated by her own mean approach to the issue.

Self fulfilling prognostication?

Lawrence on March 5, 2008 at 10:16 AM

it’s gotten worse over my lifetime

This “female person of color” is nothing more than Jesse Jackson in a skirt. She’s a race hustler and an opportunist. If her empty suit of a husband should get himself elected, guess who they’ll push to be appointed in his place? How’s THAT for scary?

the degeneracy of the Democratic party can be measured by the leftward shift. Think Hubert Humphrey, Zell Miller, Sam Nunn when they were active. None of this hate America rhetoric that is the donk trademark today. Ted Kennedy bears much of that responsibility.
