I don’t think that the 14 Iranians have too much to worry about. Al-Maliki will probably spring them soon enough. He and Mahmoud are pretty cozy.

But aren’t the Iraqi Shia our ‘allies’? This illustrates the whole absurdity of the current nation-building project in Iraq – an operation that was fully justified when the scope was simply removing Saddam, but completely unjustified in terms of preventing a civil war there.
