Israeli frustration with the ongoing rocket attacks from Gaza is completely understandable. Saying that most of those Palestinians killed were militants doesn’t really justify the dozens of civilian deaths in recent days. The Israeli people know that Israel will eventually have to negotiate with Hamas in order to have the rocket attacks stop. Olmert and his government still have yet to reach that conclusion despite acknowledging that there is no purely military solution to the Qassam problem which is making daily life miserable for Israel’s Southern residents.

The fact is that the Israelis continue to play games with their security. They’re too concerned about appearances and not concerned enough with killing the terrorists who seek to destroy Israel. Olmert does just enough to muddle through, but he’s continually eroding Israel’s security by not allowing the military to take the fight to the terrorists and their leaders.

The media plays willing accomplice for the terrorists, showing them in the most favorable light.

The terrorists, meanwhile, exploit every single instance where Israel shows restraint. Then, they declare victory over Israel.

This is a war against Israel, and the terrorists get easy media wins, despite the fact that the terrorists launched this war, have been planning for it for years, and are using civilians for cover (and to maximize the body count). Where are all the Hamas in their uniforms now?

It is the pressure (and it is real pressure) coming from the US State Dept on Israel mitigating Israel from dealing with things in the region. Abbas just had to state he’s halting the peace process and by default he wins because the US wont let the Peace process halt now. Israel is not dealing with Hamas because of the USA.

You’ve collapsed totally on all your post 9/11 policies for a number of reasons and this is the ramification / result outside the USA. If the US was tougher it would make Israel act toughter, we’re on a short leash with Dr Rice.

I use to follow Israel politics closely, so it still dumbfounds me that Olmert is still able to hold this government together. He is so worthless, words cannot describe his idiocy.

Olmert just makes the situation worse by taking his orders from General Condi Rice. Both Rice and Condi are deliberately clueless because they think that the 40 year terrorist, Abbas, is now some kind of moderal politician.

The Islamists want the Jews dead and/or out of all of Israel. Really, it is as simple as that. They all say it openly time and time and time and time again.

If Pres Bush and Condi and Olmert would stop lying to themselves and covering up their ear and eyes, maybe we would just kill these bastards once and for all
