Bali bomber blames success on CIA, Mossad

Michael Sheridan of the Times of London interviewed the men who planned, financed, and conducted the 2002 Bali bombing that left 202 people dead, including many Muslims. Not surprisingly, none regret the terrorist attack, conducted to “help Muslims”. They do regret killing the Muslims, however, but blame the CIA and/or the Mossad — for building the bomb:
Did he deny the charges? “People called me the mastermind of the Bali bombing,” he said. “Maybe right, maybe wrong. My only mission was to help the Muslims.”
And then he said something extraordinary. He claimed the bombers had never meant to kill so many people. What happened at Paddy’s Bar and the Sari Club was “unacceptable”, he said.
Had he made the bomb? “No, no, no!” he said, shaking his head. “I didn’t help to make it, and who made the bomb and when I don’t know.”
The second explosion was much bigger than they had expected, he said.
The only explanation, he suggested, was that “the CIA or KGB or Mossad” – those familiar bogeymen of the conspiracy theorist – had somehow tampered with the bomb. “It is very possible,” he claimed.
Yes, the CIA and the Mossad put cooperation with Islamist nutcases at the top of their list, especially after 9/11. Undoubtedly a few lunatics will actually believe this, and not just confined to the Muslim world, although that’s obviously the intended audience for this new conspiracy theory. They want to be seen as righteous martyrs for Islam, but want to push the blame for the deaths of Muslims to somebody else.
Recall the actual act. The Bali bombing occurred in two stages. First, they set off a bomb inside the club to kill a few tourists and drive the rest outside. Once people fled, the truck bomb that they constructed was detonated to kill a much larger group of people. The very design showed the intent to kill as many people in as wide an area as possible, including emergency responders from the local Bali government.
Sheridan notices this curious kind of denial as a running theme. Imam Samudrin, who masterminded the operation, talks about his extensive planning and scouting of the proper location for the attack. He chose the particular spot based on tourist literature, looking for popular clubs where “Zionists” would congregate. He spent two months on research, and managed not to kill a single Israeli — but did kill dozens of Muslims.
He wants pardon from the Muslims, but no one else. Despite having made a pilgrimage to meet Osama bin Laden before the attack, Samudrin tried to tell Sheridan that he had no connection to al-Qaeda, and that the Islamic faith is all they have in common. Samudrin apparently doesn’t even consider the other obvious connection: their hands are both drenched in the blood of Muslims and non-Muslims alike. He can try blaming the CIA and the Mossad all he likes, but the Indonesian firing squad will shortly end his fantasy life.

So far, there has been no Conspiracy Theory the Muslims and the Kooks hadn’t bought. He knows wery well what he’s doing, soon his blabbering will be believed by hundreds of millions of people and used as a basis to recruit more bombers.

I could see the Truthers having a field day on “backdoor CIA deals” with this one. The reality is that terrorism mostly killss other Muslims, a fact nutjob jihadists conveniently ignore.

Well someone has to be to blame for killing all those Muslims, and guess which group of fools will entertain the idea. Has anyone contacted Dylan Avery for a Loose Change VIII?

Let’s just come out and say it….Ron Paul voters.

The CIA and Mossad are overstepping their bounds. Since when did they start encroaching on Halliburton’s territory? Someone needs to reign these renegade organizations in a bit.

malan89, I immediately thought of Dick Turban, Henry Waxman, Maxine Waters, Harry Reid and Nancy “Queen of the Congress” Pelosi. Pea-brains, one and all.

Zorro, clear thinking people know that the CIA had to get their drug supply for LA from somewhere. Is it such a leap that those drugs were traded for bombs? It’s all falling into place.

Funny thing is ? The AFP news ran with part of this story
Guess what part ?

The CIA and Mossad must’ve bombed the Beirut barracks in 1983, too, right?
Muslims can’t make such big explosions.
A.Q. Khan excepted.

Isn’t he up for an Oscar or something?

America just gave an Academy Award to a French bimbo who thinks that the American government blew up the World Trade Center towers because someone was too cheap to spend the money to renovate them.
What’s worse: an Islamist from a Third World country who thinks that the Koran is to be memorized and then followed to the letter, or a citizen of a European country that is supposed to be literate and progressive, and frequently likes to call itself our ally.
Ah well, now she’ll be known as the Frog Troofer instead of that actress in the fishy dress. Bali bombers will all continue to be known as stupid and evil. You’d think both the bimbo and the jihadists would care about their street cred.

Remember, “There are many religions in the world, but only one religion of peace”. Geez, they have got to be running short of virgins, if not out completely!!!

The terrorists admit – and even brag – that they planted the parts of the bomb that killed the “dirty infidels.”
But then they claim that the CIA must have (somehow, magically) snuck in and added some extra explosives, because the CIA (somehow, magically) knew that the extra blast radius would be the part that killed Muslims.
Even if everything the terrorists are saying is true, it’s pretty clear that God isn’t on their side!

I’ve been told one can’t trust any news outlet owned by Rupert Murdoch (owner of The Times). Of course, the people who told me this get their news from Katie Couric and the New York Times. They’ve also told me that CNN and the Washington Post are biased toward conservative points of view.

Has anyone noticed that all Muslims lie all the time?

What a crock. Muslim extremists have shown no reluctance at killing Muslims.

Udang di balik batu.
The above is an Indonesian expression which means “the shrimp behind the rock.” It expresses a common sentiment among Indoneisans regarding many things in life–there’s always an unseen hand at work behind things. They love, love, love conspiracy theories, and I think this guy is just playing off that.
I was in East Java when the bomb went off, and had many discussions with Indonesians about it and whom they believed was behind it. The CIA was believed responsible by easily 90% of Indoneisan society–including the then vice president, who said so on television. I had assumed this would be strictly a Muslim viewpoint, but many of the Christians I spoke with thought this as well.
It was simply inconceivable to Indonesians that the attack originated from among their own, and the sense of national shame as the perpetrators were identified is hard to describe.
All that said, I would be surprised if many Indonesians now fell for this line. Some will, as will some truthers here in the U.S.–there’s a crowd that thinks the tsunami was a manmade event, after all.
I’ll peruse some Indonesian papers and report back if there’s anything interesting.

Yeah, the bombs they construted don’t kill innocent people, the CIA, Mossad, and KGB do!
Absolutely ridiculous and vile, they remind me of my blacksheep brother, he was so invested in his BS that he actually believed his own BS!
This is a prime example of how truly indoctrinated and brainwashed the jihadist are yet the left still thinks they can “talk” to these delusional butchers…WAKE UP ALREADY!
