Video: The McCain “Bomb Iran” montage

posted at 8:20 pm on February 29, 2008 by Allahpundit

As a follow-up to the Obama post, here’s feeble leftist propagandist Robert Greenwald taking two comments of McCain’s — one the oft-distorted “100 years” remark, the other his “bomb Iran” goof from last year — and spinning an entire foreign policy out of them, notwithstanding Bush’s own halting diplomatic outreach towards Tehran and Maverick’s repeated assertions that military action is and must be the last option in dealing with the nuclear threat. I dare say, this almost constitutes fearmongering, doesn’t it? Exit question: Can a halfwit who thinks poetry slams are an effective tool for anti-war messaging ever really “lighten up and get a life”?

Well, liberals will love it. But if Obama wants to win in November, he has to win over non-liberals.

SoulGlo on February 29, 2008 at 8:23 PM

Why do liberals insist on portraying a healthy understanding of reality as warmongering?

Sure, none of us are excited about the fact that Islamic terrorists want to kill us, but that doesn’t mean we should pretend it’s a myth.

TheNolan on February 29, 2008 at 8:29 PM

A troop presence that does not involve Americans being harmed is, by definition, not a war.

Chakra Hammer on February 29, 2008 at 8:29 PM

Dishonest, yes. But wasn’t all that feeble, IMO.

McCain needs to counter with a highly emotional ad about the human costs of premature withdrawal. If Greenwald’s video is any indication, it shouldn’t cost much to produce.

petefrt on February 29, 2008 at 8:35 PM

Mav does make an easy target, doesn’t he? What’s funny is that the media and the left act as if America has no idea who the guy is. Next to Jesse Helms or Ted Kennedy, he is probably the most recognizable political figure in the nation. America is well aware of the guy, and with his time spent in Hanoi, the lefties don’t understand that America is willing to give him a little more rope than most politicians when it comes to foreign affairs.

Well, liberals will love it. But if Obama wants to win in November, he has to win over non-liberals.

His appeal (subconciously for many folks) is that that he’s going to banish racial tension forevermore. I predict he’ll win and be booted out after four years of hyper-iberal blundering.

This certainly added to my respect of John McCain.

Christoph on February 29, 2008 at 8:44 PM

I like McCain’s bomb Iran schtick. If politicians (and by this I mean any politicians; US, Europe, Thailand, Russia-whomever) would study Islam in depth and explain to the world what it means for us infidels then bombing Iran would be understood as the only sensible thing to do.

aengus on February 29, 2008 at 8:45 PM

I always love when they add the clip of the nuclear test,
and if really irritates Liberals I say Bomb early,Bomb long,
Bomb often,Bomb high,Bomb low,and Bomb until it’s gone!

Here’s a little reminder as how Liberals really think
about the Military:

When Bill Clinton was being sworn in,outside.

The United States Military did the usually fly by!
The micro-phones were still on!
A hollywood actor was there, sorry can’t remember his name
he was screaming”Why are they here”,the US Airforce flyby!

George Stephanouplas, now on ABC News, was on the Clinton team then, said”Don’t worry, their our jets now”

Thats how Liberals view the United States Military,
the ours and yours attitude!

This was played on the Rush Limbaugh Show, back around 92′,
I have a good memory,haha!

canopfor, I would love to hear that recording. That’s disgusting. People like that are not qualified to be commander-in-chief.

What the left fails to understand is that GWB brought the terrorist out of the caves ( and out of Saudi Arabia ) and into the battlefield that is Iraq.

I can’t think of a better strategy in hind sight. Liberals say there wasn’t AQ in Iraq until Bush invaded. Yeah, and what a brilliant strategy it was to draw the enemy out and into our gun sights. A level playing battle field.

The enemy has been picking off Americans (and other foreign nationals) for years. Hit and Run tactics. Till now, we’ve never had a cleaner shot at the terrorist.

Once spread out all over the world, hidden in caves, protected by rouge governments. Now the terrorist come to us, in the battlefield that is Iraq and Afghanistan, where we’ve done quite well. Along the way, the Iraqi people have seen AQ for what it is, a murderous ideology. Maybe 1.3 billion others too.

If anyone understands the threat and the need to continue the fight, its McCain. I may not like him, but consider the alternative and the choice is clear.

I was driving for a courrier service,Purolator to be
exact,a rural route which gave me a lot of time to
litteraly hear the entire Rush Limbaugh program.

If anybody on Hot Air has Rush 24/7,then they could get to
Rush’s achrives and get that recording, that is when Rush
was calling his show “America Held Hostage” by the Clinton

Well now, why don’t we put this into perspective…..

A few years ago, the old Soviet Union didn’t have our ability to “pin point” our little fire-crackers, so they made things like this little gem…., (enjoy the music)

That is still a threat from the East….

In the mean time, after Mr. Bill Clinton relaxed technological security parameters, our friends from the West have our “pin point” capability to drop these little smoke bombs….. , but they are our trading partners, right? (enjoy the propoganda)

The footage may be old, but the threat still exists…. for all of John McCain’s faults, I believe he understands this more than B.O. and Mrs. Clinton.

Anyone want to question why President Bush blew that satelite out of the sky the other day?

Seven Percent Solution on February 29, 2008 at 10:02 PM

Maybe it’s an age thing, but personally, I see nothing in this lame ad anyone should be concerned about.

I laughed all the way through.

Still laughing…ha ha…ha ha ha…bomb Iran…ha ha…

have made a straight bee-line to Irag and Afghanistan
to continue the “struggle”.

And if it’s a choice between Obama and Hillary, now
is the time for action, irregardless of McCains per-

Fewer men and women in uniform have died during the past 5 years of a Two-Front assault against the Global Islamic Jihad than died on the first few days of the D-Day Invasion. Or were lost on single days of many previous wars.

The small numbers of losses are actually astounding considering the accomplishments:

with ZERO terrorist attacks on America since 9/11 being the primary one.

Denigrating the troops is a bassackwards move on Barack’s part.

It’s going to be a messier middle east with Mav bombing Iran & Boma wanting to pull out and strike Iraq.

oakpack on March 1, 2008 at 1:43 AM

Bah, shoddy video.

This is a real “Bomb Iran” video.

But this is what I like about McCain — he doesn’t apologize for that sort of stuff, like when he told Jon Stewart that he had an IED for him. And that last clip of him singing was him making fun of Streisand on SNL a few years back.
