Video: Aussie burglars pick wrong night to rob club

posted at 7:20 pm on February 29, 2008 by Allahpundit

How come the “rough justice” clips always go down a little smoother on Friday (and Saturday) nights? Vicarious escapist thrill after a long week at work? Welcome antidote to days’ worth of hard news? Everyone’s already liquored up and in the mood to rumble?

Whatever it is, it’s magic.

Update: Note the guy wielding a chair. And not a small chair, either.

Everyone’s already liquored up and in the mood to rumble?

If I get drunk, it’s your fault.

“Didn’t anybody tell you that this is the private club of the Satan’s Helpers?!”

Ugly on February 29, 2008 at 7:28 PM

“Crash tackled” sounds like fun.

knat on February 29, 2008 at 7:29 PM

I’m rumbling at this very moment. Of course, mine is caused by two bowl of Pinto Beans, Ham Hocks and Cornbread.

So am I.

Seems these bikers are from the same mold as the passengers who took down the 9/11 aircraft that was headed for the White House.

More like them, and the world would be a better place.

petefrt on February 29, 2008 at 7:37 PM

You think that justice is rough? Check out this hostage taker become a hood ornament!

Jay on February 29, 2008 at 7:39 PM

BKennedy on February 29, 2008 at 8:01 PM

If this happened in Britain they would throw the crash tacklers in jail.

WisCon on February 29, 2008 at 8:12 PM

Thank you, Australia, for introducing to our language and culture the verb crashtackle and the practice thereof.

Lee on February 29, 2008 at 8:14 PM

It is bike week here in Daytona Beach, Fl. Bikers (not the gang crap) in general, behave honorably this way. Daytona Beach Fl is the MOST polite city I have ever lived in.

Guess it is bred into bikers to have honor.

CrimsonFisted on February 29, 2008 at 8:37 PM

Cool.

That’d be like walking into the club of the Iron Coffins or the Highwaymen and say, “Stick ‘em up!”.

Not smart!

:-D

WayWard Fundamentalist Christian on February 29, 2008 at 8:52 PM

Besides the ever so cool accent….. this story runs deeper.

“Which is why America has such affection for a country whose prime minister said after 9/11, “This is no time to be an 80 percent ally,” and actually meant it.”

God love em…….

Seven Percent Solution on February 29, 2008 at 9:31 PM

Aussies rule. I’d take a bullet for any one of them.

THE CHOSEN ONE on February 29, 2008 at 10:25 PM

Once again bikers doing the right thing makes me proud to one. I’ll hoist a cold one for you guys.

limowilliam on February 29, 2008 at 10:53 PM

I enjoyed how they utilized different items from the club in going after the idiots… you can readily see bikers grabbing chairs, tables, whatever they could grab to go and beat down the hoodlums. Very good form.

That’s the way it was when I grew up. What is happening to this country?

Saltysam on March 1, 2008 at 12:07 AM

I love bikers, mostly from getting to know Patriot Guard members.

JustTruth101 on March 1, 2008 at 12:34 AM

Bikees? Funny video! I’ve been going to Sturgis Bike Week for the last twelve years. It’s had a crowd anywhere from 400,000 to 750,000. I’ve never seen so much as a fist fight there. It’s just a lot of guys and gals having a great time. But then I was also in Laughlin when they had the gang shootout in 2002. The gangs are different.

Bikerken on March 1, 2008 at 12:39 AM

Should have known not to rob the place while the Rolling Stones were playing.

MirCat on March 1, 2008 at 1:59 AM

Since Australia has outlawed guns, what other choice did they have for self-defense. Here in Texas we would have just shot them. Saves on body wear and tear.

docdave on March 1, 2008 at 2:39 AM

They forgot to say that they hogtied the one they caught until the cops arrived.

Liberals! That is what is happening. Commie/Leftist/F**kwits! But I repeat myself.

traderdfw on March 1, 2008 at 4:41 AM

Sweeet! Give them a medal for defending themselves.

tx2654 on March 1, 2008 at 5:29 AM

Many criminal acts are not well thought out are they.

I heard another report that highlighted a life lesson. The police arriving on the scene found both “would be robbers” quite roughed up.

Questioning the bikers about what happened the bikers response “I don’t know officer they just fell down before we got to them.”

The lesson: “every action we take results in an equal or greater reaction-so think before you blink.”

MSGTAS on March 1, 2008 at 9:24 AM

What is so cool about this story is seeing Aussies standing up an defending themselves, despite their government’s efforts to dissarm them.

I expect to see more of this kind of thing in over the next few years. People in democratic western cultures are getting tired of their government’s efforts to turn everyone into victims by disarming them.

Lawrence on March 1, 2008 at 9:30 AM

Bikers are awesome? Just because bikers chased two crooks out of their bar doesn’t make bikers great.

Now if these are just weekend biker types then kudos to them. If their the Hells Angels type, then big deal, they were just beating up two of their own.

Tomorrow’s headlines today: “John Smeaton flew all the way to Australia just to buy his mates down under a beey-ah…”

Viper

I’m sorry to disappoint you. However my background is in law enforcement. I said if they are the Hells Angels type of bikers then I give them no props. You may buy into the misunderstood group of rebels that collect toys for tots. I know different, outlaw bikers are some of the worst type of criminals our society has to offer. They are a gang period.

Like I said, if they are a bunch of guys that like to ride and wear a little leather, then good for them.
