Audio: “Pranking” Planned Parenthood

posted at 3:30 pm on February 28, 2008 by Allahpundit

It’s like a Sarah Silverman joke come horribly to life (so to speak). Stick with it, as it starts semi-innocently as a misunderstanding about the donor’s intent and then segues into something out of an especially mordant episode of “Crank Yankers.” The Ron Paul/Nazi dilemma revisited: Is it okay to take money from evil people if it’s used for good ends? “Good ends” in this case being feticide, natch.

I’d like to think that the women at PP were just being dense, but I think that would be giving them too much credit.

Well, they clearly DO have a program to target donations specifically for aborting black children. That speaks for itself.

In other words, it couldn’t possibly matter less whether this is a “prank” or not. I care no more about the motives of the caller than I do the motives of Planned Parenthood.

There is no “good” racism or “bad” racism. Racism is racism – period.

elgeneralisimo on February 28, 2008 at 3:58 PM

I thought it was hilarious. It’s not like the guy was really going to make the donation. The more ways that word gets out about what Planned Abortionhood really is the better. This really shows that the people working there are in complete denial that a human life is being taken during each abortion.

stonemeister on February 28, 2008 at 4:32 PM

Most people have little idea of Margaret Sanger’s penchant for eugenics, so thanks, locomotivebreath.

Also, it wasn’t too long ago that there was another sting on PP where the callers claimed to be underage girls who had become impregnated by much older men. PP, in clear violation of statutory rape laws, simply offered the abortion, even when the girls wondered aloud if becoming pregnant by these older men would cause trouble. PP assured them that there were no legal problems with their obtaining abortions, that they didn’t have to worry that their “boyfriends” (legally considered molesters)would be reported, despite clear laws that dictated otherwise.

A dispicable group. My taxes at work.

That’s what 264,943 abortions that year got ‘em, anyway.

As usual the anti abortion crowd cannot see how sick and depraved they’ve become.

Yes…wanting fetuses to survive gestation and become honest to goodness human beings. Wanting people to be accountable for their actions. Wanting to help people unable to have children adopt from women who don’t want their children. Hoping that people will avoid the heartache, depression, and thoughts of suicide that often follow terminating a pregnancy.

What sick, craven, depraved monsters those anti-abortion, pro-life, adoption advocates are! String ‘em up, the whole lot of them!

It’s still Freedom of Speech, Expression, and Peacably Assemble…

Killgore Trout on February 28, 2008 at 5:11 PM

Not a huge fan of Christians or conservatives eh? The calls certainly lack tact, but they’re revealing of the mindset of one person in a clearly morally bankrupt organization. No amount of crazy protesting on the part of pro-lifers will change how wrong sucking babies out of women with a vacuum or driving a tiny-spike into tiny skulls is…racially motivated or otherwise.

Actually, the song is about an ice cream truck driver. He’s worried that if there are not enough babies, he will be out of a job selling ice cream to kids.

The most important and key lesson in the song is this part:

Preacher on a corner
Calling it a crime
Says, “The end don’t justify the means anytime”
I stood up on my van
I yelled, “Excuse me, sir.
Ain’t nothing wrong with this country
That a few plastic explosives won’t cure.”

Steve Taylor is brilliant. I wish he would make more music.

Sorry, but the copy I watched didn’t have any dismembered fetuses. Simple fact is that humor has always been an effective way to get an uncomfortable fact across. Whether this approach works, only time will tell, but I saw nothing objectionable about it. I have certainly enjoyed the many videos of prank answers to calls from telemarketers, and prank calls are standard fare on talk shows, even though they’re a little below even my standards. Maybe I have been desensitized to the wanton violence of prank calls in our society. To paraphrase the Pope, we live in a culture of juvenile humor.

Planned Parenthood (PP) is and has been a disgraceful organization. The Traditional Family Values Coalition website has a section of audio tapes (under “Worth Reading” left side page), which exposes PP for covering up child sex abuse. Included are many examples from various PP sites all over CA.

A branch in SF also produced a video for children entitled, “Superhero for Choice” and it was anti-Christian and filled with sexual undertones. It is a sickening organization and I resent the fact that it receives taxpayer money.

…The antiwar activists use the same logic to excuse their bad behaviour…

…This falls into the same category as the nuts who harass women and doctors at clinics and march around with gory pictures of aborted fetuses…

So which is it? Animal rights activists? Anti-war activists? Anti-abortion activists? Anyone with a phone?

And then there’s this gem:

…Uh….I think most people seem to be missing the point. I’m sure these clerks are trained to be nice to everyone no matter what and don’t have the authority to refuse donations…

Really? Really?

or maybe it’s our fault:

…Nobody else on this thread seems to notice how bad this makes the anti abortion activists appear which is a good part of the reason why abortions are still legal…

I don’t buy that everyone that works for PP is a promoter of eugenics. However, I will agree that they will take any dime for what they do, no matter where it comes from.

Those folks answering the phone don’t give a crap why the money comes to them, just as long as it comes. They’re so devoid of human character that they must think that the end justifies the means, even if the means smack of evil.

The whole idea of donating money to an abortion facility to support the abortion of a minority baby in the name of blatant racism makes me want to vomit…even if the callers were yanking chains to make a point. It’s all beyond disturbing.
