Video: The many faces of Hillary

posted at 2:10 pm on February 27, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

When the eventual post-mortems appear after the end of the Hillary Clinton campaign, people may want to reflect on a video montage presented by Eyeblast TV’s Danny Glover. Relying on clips from New Hampshire’s primary eve through yesterday, Glover puts the problem front and center:

Voters never made a connection with Hillary, because Hillary kept morphing into whatever her handlers thought the voters wanted. Need an emotional connection? Let’s have her tear up. Need a fighter? Have her waggle her finger at Obama. Be a victim of media injustice? Let’s have her complain during the debate and use Saturday Night Live as a vehicle for her complaining.

Obama, meanwhile, comes across as much more genuine. He hasn’t felt the need to pose on the stump, and because of that, the emotional connections have grown organically. Hillary has seemed manufactured, and poorly at that.

Voters in 2008 want the real deal. Both primaries have made that direction very, very clear.

I’ve decided to drop McCain and actively support Hillary!!

Ed breaks hotair on his second day here! :D

lorien1973 on February 27, 2008 at 2:15 PM

Woot – in before the fixing of hotair. Good to see the Cap’n making html his b!tc#. ;)

Voidseeker on February 27, 2008 at 2:16 PM

Id argue that McCain can win also by sticking to his guns. In hard times Americans tend to play it safe with their politics and not rock the boat in midstream.

McCain simply has to paint Obama as a “MASSIVE RADICAL CHANGE with a big C.

McCain should feed into the ideat that “Yeah Barak is change but its fall too dangerous a change to take a risk on.”. Nixon in 1972 and LBJ in 1964 both painted their opponents as a “Dangerous” change. It can still work now.

William Amos on February 27, 2008 at 2:16 PM

Cool, like Voidseeker, I’m in before Hotair is fixed.

But yeah, Hillary has no core.

Vanceone on February 27, 2008 at 2:19 PM

Shillary reminds me of a Mr. Potato Head. A blank slate until you start adding the different eyes, nose, and lips.

I don’t know about that. As Rush assessed this morning; Barak doesn’t have supporters, he has followers. Trying to disuade a Barak follower would be like trying to talk a devout Christian out of his faith.

hisfrogness on February 27, 2008 at 2:26 PM

She’s a whiner!

She’s a crier!

She’s a lover!

SHE’S A SCHIZO!!!!!!!!

I’d find it funny, except that I’ve broken Hot Air three frickin’ times today. I’m just waiting to get my well-deserved smiting from Allah(pundit) ….

True but thats just the hardcore dems. There are a lot of swing voters that would be woried if they didnt trust the guy to vote for him.

William Amos on February 27, 2008 at 2:28 PM

Is she still gonna be Senator?

d1carter on February 27, 2008 at 2:29 PM

Obama, meanwhile, comes across as much more genuine. He hasn’t felt the need to pose on the stump, and because of that, the emotional connections have grown organically.

Barack Obama is a black, Socialist, therefore, he is off limits to any real interrogation by the Leftist media – e.g., Russert specifically asked him “Do you accept the support of Louis Farrakhan? After several obfuscating, non-answers, Russert STILL refused to follow-up his question with: Mr. Obama, despite your lengthy non-response, my question to you was a “yes” or “no” question, and you have yet to respond accordingly.

Off the hook, once again. As you said, “he hasn’t felt the need to pose on the stump,” because the Leftist media has allowed him to obfuscate to his heart’s content.

Socialism requires an illiterate and ignorant People. The allowing of Barack Obama to obfuscate only feeds the Socialist flame. There is a method to the media madness. Socialism at all cost.

OhEssYouCowboys on February 27, 2008 at 2:29 PM

It appears McCain and most Republicans are scared to death to bring up BHO race, religion, pastor, land deals, his view on Supreme justices, taxes and how that would crater the businesses and stock market, and people donating to his election. McCain might think about making Bo-Rushs black ‘official Obama criticizer’ part of his campaign.

d1carter on February 27, 2008 at 2:29 PM

Yeah, looks that way.

But not just Senator!

Junior Senator!

For a long, long, long time.

Because I highly doubt Chuckie Schuemer is planning on going anywhere in the not too distant future.

pilamaye on February 27, 2008 at 2:38 PM

Don’t sweat it Ed, Allah likes having to work hard and look good for the Boss. Sorry Allah had to bust your chops for all the View videos

He’s a tokers

He’s a left wing joker

Watching socialist leftists eat each other is so much fun.
I can’t wait to see barack hussein obama closeup moment.

Kini on February 27, 2008 at 2:39 PM

OUCH!

I fought my way through the whole video but it was all I could do to pay attention. Her face and her voice just HURT!

I’m sorry that doesn’t have anything to do with the video. I’ll regroup and get a coherent response later.

rihar on February 27, 2008 at 2:40 PM

She’s insane.

RUSSERT: Who will it be? Do you know his name?

CLINTON: Medvedev — whatever.

I mean, just think about that, she said “whatever” in a little girl dismissive way. She’s bonkers, in a Dr. Strangelove sort of way. She has no idea what she does, why she does it, just that she wants universal health care, but can’t explain exactly why.

She’s completely unserious, oh, but she’s the only one with the experience who is ready on day one, blah blah blah.

Puuuuhleeze.

It s all good man. They are good work outs for the site/Allah. Need to keep him on his toes and all that.

Plus it is more than amusing for the short time it is broken.

Rhinoboy on February 27, 2008 at 2:48 PM

BO dosn’t pose on the stump? What’s with that FDR chin in the air?

Best pants suit yet, even better than the bee suit, is in the “lover” clip, complete with Count Dracula collars. The cape was apparently neatly tucked behind her. Someone, quick, please Photoshop in some fangs!

It’s a shame that Hillary won’t be POTUS. Each side dislikes her and she wouldn’t be able to do anything significant. Much better scenario than the alternative of an eloquent lovable Marxist panderer or a Schwarzeneggeresque open-borders conservative-hating RINO that may actually gather enough support to achieve their goals.

It won’t be the celestial choirs that will come down after the light shines down, it will be a UFO swooping down to grab Kucinich and/or Ron Paul and take him/them home.

No worries, Ed–I’ve seen Allah or Bryan make half the site vanish on the front page. It’s all good.

All those false faces still couldn’t hide one A**hole.

DANEgerus on February 27, 2008 at 6:09 PM

For those wondering if Hillary will “stll be a Senator” after Barack Obama gets the nomination (and probably wins the general election) look for her to be offered a deal to bow out gracefully. My top pick prediction is they will offer her the Senate majority leadership to get her out of the way for Obama’s clear nomination.

People have known for many years that BOTH clintons, including their offspring are as fake as hollywood boobs.

Pun intended.

tx2654 on February 27, 2008 at 6:57 PM

Obama has handled himself well.

Should we be surprised that Hillary was beaten by a well-spoken empty suit?

This is a woman with scores to settle.

This is a woman who craves power.

This is a woman who believes she is owed the Presidency.

Then along comes a mixed-race, well spoken, likeable Democratic candidate.

Stir in the fact that Democrats have raised a constituency unable to use (let alone grasp) facts, reason and logic…and BAM, Barack sweeps the nomination.

Maybe we can get Mel Gibson in there too
