al Qaeda WAS in Iraq before the invasion, at least according to their own recovered documents, admissions on their websites and in videos they have released and I've posted about at www.regimeofterror.com

I don't expect Obama to really give a damn about the truth on this as he has too much invested in the partisan lie on this issue.

I clearly remember after 9/11, Bush said the war on terrorism was not going to be easy and we were going to have to get our hands dirty. Every one supported that, including Hillary and Kennedy. Saddam had to go, what with his ties to al-qaeda, aiding and abetting and all. Most of the rest of the world didnt want to join us because they didn't want to get their hands dirty, but said 'hey! you take out Saddam, then we will come and help the iraqi people get set up'. Well news flash, Saddams gone. Where are these nations that offered to help??
We can not pull out now. We have to stay the course, and I'll tell you why. Let me put it this way: there is this community that has been over run by gangs. A group of people decides to help this community get rid of the gangs, and re-establish themselves. Now half way through, this group tells the people they're helping 'yeah, we need to get going. This is taking longer than we thought it would, but hey! good luck to you!'.... What's going to happen?? I'll tell you what's going to happen, that community not only is going to get hit again, but get hit twice as hard because 1) they had the audacity to stand up to the gangs in the first place, but 2) they have to be made an example out of, lest any other community decide they might want freedom too.
We have to finish what we started, and make no mistake about it, this is an all out war on terrorism.
And gee, maybe we should have been picking them off one by one back in the 70's when their favorite hobby was to hi-jack all the planes, and holding the world captive!

While one Presidential candidate, (John McCain) has the vision to foresee a total marginalization of terrorist activities throughout the region by the use of military strength first, and then diplomatic reconciliation----the other candidate, (Barak Obama) with virtually no foreign policy experience or the resolve to finish off a weakened and leaderless faction of a scattered and battered enemy, has positioned himself to cater to the anti-war radical left who would rather surrender to our enemies abroad.

While most of Europe is standing/sitting on the sidelines watching the U.S. do the "dirty work" they are incapable of, a grateful and sacrificial nation once again rises to the task of providing other nations to achieve the freedom and individual liberty from the tyranny and oppression of a sick and disillusioned society that preys on the weak-------which is this battle against world-wide terrorism.

Surrender is not an option, and John McCain clearly knows this.

Barak Obama or John McCain? The choice should be crystal clear.

Obama wants to abandon Iraq and then come back if Al-Qaeda starts to build a base of operations there.

Where has he been for the last 4 years?

Osama called Iraq it's central front on the war with the west.

Eliminating Al-qaeda from establishing a foot hold in Iraq
is exactly what we have prevented with the surge he said would not work.

This coming from the same guy who wants to take our "Broken" army out of Iraq because we "can't" win there,
then invade Pakistan(Nuclear powered ally, over a 20 million man army and some of the roughest unmapped terrain in the world) because our intelligence agencies "are pretty sure"that Osama is there.

If we invade and Osama ends up in Somolia or Iran, will the Democrats call him a chicken hawk war monger that lied us into war like they have done Bush?

When was the last time I heard a Democrat talking about taking out a regime that was harboring dangerous terrorist
like al-qaeda and WMD/nuclear weapons.

OH Yea!!! almost all the the 90's and up until they voted
with Republicans to oust Saddam because he harbored al-qaeda
and possessed WMD's.

  Bill Clinton,Hillary Clinton,Reid,Kerry,pelosi,Edwards,
Rockefeller,Al Gore the CIA,DOD,and most of the world's intelligence agencies believed this before Bush was President and up until the vote for war.

We have watched the Democratic party adopt the biggest case of amnesia the world has ever seen regarding the Iraq war and use the difficulties of War as a bludgeon against Bush and anyone who supports the liberation of Iraq,so why in the he!! would anyone trust a democrat now when they talk about using force internationally.

You would think the disgusting way democrats treated our troops and bailed on the Vietnam war resulting in the deaths of millions of people would have shown the fallacy of running from our enemies.

In a recent debate,Obama totally Micheal Moored up the
facts concerning our efforts in Afghanistan:

"Although problems do occur in combat situations to be sure, none of what Obama realted makes any sense and is, according to people with whom I spoke, untrue.Units the size of platoons are not sent to seperate theaters, ammunition has been plentiful, and an investigation indicates that the
unit in question was missing only one of it's humvees, all to no peril of the unit."

               Jack Jacobs,Military analyst,MSNBC

MSNBC,not exactly a Bush friendly network.

Also according to ABC news who spoke the the anonymous
source:

"The purpose of going after the Taliban was not to get their weapons," he said, but on occasion they used Taliban weapons, sometimes AK-47s, and they also mounted a Soviet model D5HK on one of their humvees instead of their 50 cal."

These events also transpired around 2003, not exactly a snapshot of the current situation.

Obama's insinuation that our military is ill equipped and
having to take guns and vehicles from our enemies falls flat
when the facts of the situation comes out.

I thought Obama wanted "CHANGE". This is the same cut and
paste propaganda that we have been dealing with in the democratic party for years.

Obama can only whine about 2003 issues of whether "Al-Qaeda
was in Iraq"(which his party pronounced many times)because
he has no solutions beyond surrender to offer for the realities of the War on Terror in 2008.

<blockquote>Above all, I will send a clear message: we will not repeat the mistake of the past, when we turned our back on <strike>Afghanistan</strike> <strong>Iraq</strong> following <strike>Soviet</strike> <strong>our</strong> withdrawal. As 9/11 showed us, the security of <strike>Afghanistan</strike> <strong>Iraq</strong> and America is shared. And today, that security is most threatened by the al Qaeda <strong>in Iraq </strong><strike>and </strike><strike>Taliban sanctuary </strike> in the tribal regions of <strike>northwest Pakistan</strike> <strong>Iraq</strong>.</blockquote>

Has anyone defined any success criteria w/r/t US involvement in Iraq?

i.e. when the number of sunni-shi'ite terror attacks drops to 4% of current levels the operation has been deemed a success.
or when AQI only kills 30 people a month it is a success.
or perhaps are we going to totally obliterate all terrorism, official corrpuption, and ensure the primacy of the rule of law and democratic principles as practiced in the west.

We're fighting them so we don't have to fight them over here is as vacuous as an Obama campaign pledge.

Seems like a lot of this is 'make it up as you go along' in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

Everytime the military does anything the democrats throw a hissy fit, thats why the Rules of engagement are the way they are. etc.

Want to know why they have to fight with an arm tied behind their backs? Look to the dems like John Kerry saying

<blockquote>And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the--of--the historical customs, religious customs.
TOPV -

Do you know anything about insurgencies? You can't just bomb them into oblivion, you have to convince the general populace that they are illegitimate and their enemy.

Consider this, though. Al Qaeda was touting two sites for its capital in Iraq. These were Baquaba and Anbar province. Both of these areas are firmly under friendly Iraqi control. Locals hand over Al Qaeda members and join up with watch groups and the police. The AQI leaders are privately despairing over the state of their operations. It's fair to say we are fighting them and winning.

Obama seems to want to debate whether or not we should invade Iraq and remove Saddam and his 2 filthy sons from power or not. Saying that AQ in Iraq didn't exist before the invasion isn't a reason to pull out now that we know they do exist.

I don't know how many conservatives there are like me but McCain making overtures toward conservatives is a waste of his and my time. I cannot in good conscience vote for him and I will not. The conservatives in my family and I do not view him as a Republican in any sense of the word. (In fact, I view him as even more reprehensible than Romney who seems more popular out of the race than in it.) I don't think it is that we are 'throwing drinks in McCain's face'. He is simply reaping what he has sown. He has no one to blame but himself.

What BHO said about poor cooperation in Afganistan because the NATO allies don't want us in Iraq is new to me. Anyone else seen any evidence of this?
It sounds like he thinks he isn't in the Senate to represent Illinois but to watch out for the interests of Europe. And not all Europeans, just the antiAmerican Europeans.

This grandson of Admiral McCain who stood up to the Navy to begin the reinforcement of the First Marine Division on Gualdalcanal in late August 1942 will never consider surrender to the Arabs. His only fault has been overtly giving Honor to other Americans that he needs to join in the fight with him. That's basic leadership 101.Join this fight with him and he will not let you down.
