Lil Artie Sulzburger Jr, publisher of the NYT, thinks what he believes is reality and the truth be damned. Liberalism is not what the facts are concerning the truth, but what you want the truth to be. Reality is in the eyes of the beholder.

The MSM will have a little trouble giving McCain the standard Republican treatment. He’s been treated like a Democrat in the press for so long, it’s jarring to most people when they turn on him.

Yeah, for like a week.

About a month after “endorsing” McCain, the NYT flagrantly bites him in the ass. Sure people are going to notice that. But by this November there will have been thousands of these stories, many of them even more idiotic than this one. And it’ll all congeal into that grey fuzzy cloud of “everybody seems to think so.”

That’s the way propaganda works. There’s nothing haphazard about any of this. People forget where and when they heard individual stories, but over time opinions get drilled into their brains just the same.

This subject did come up awhile back. The endorsement, and subsequent attack, really exposed the attack for what it was…a hack job. McCain and the NYT discussed this matter several months ago. They knew all about the story when they endorsed him.

Are they (the NYT) saying they were completely unaware of the alleged “indiscretions” they hint at from eight years ago when they endorsed him? Even though, according to my understanding, TNR had been badgering them to report them for some time.

How do you endorse a candidate, then less than a month later publish suggestions of wrongdoing from eight years previous?

To paraphrase: “What did the NYT know and when did they know it?”

So, when it’s as low as he can get it, he’ll buyout the remaining shares and take it Private. It was all laid out by the Boston Herald Business Editor about 18 months or so ago.

yeah, I’m with Lim. Don’t really see how this is a winning strategy. Their main asset in the new headquarters building. Don’ think any other part of their business is profitable.

btw, WaPo not in much better shape. Their moneymaker is Kaplan’s test taking–otherwise don’t think they’re profitable either. Sun-Times de-listed the other day. It’s all looking good.
