Coming from someone who speaks through an imaginary dog, you have little credibility on anything you say.

In addition, my city, Santa Ana, California, was once a great place to live before being invaded, occupied and colonized by Mexico. Since the US Census is not accurate, local marketing surveys put my city at 92% “hispanic.” What kind of racist would live in such a city? Unlike Captain Ed, I am staying to fight for my country instead of leaving California with my tail between my legs.

Lastly, Buckley’s ties to Mexico go back very far, like the Bush family. His first language was Spanish. He was a great, great man, but once he abandoned any defense of Caucasians or the National Question (e.g. immigration restriction), he was no longer a “conservative” in my eyes, and neither is the NR.

Nevertheless, he, Goldwater and Reagan are probably sharing stories in heaven as we speak.

I don’t believe that a conservative website is the place for anyone who feels comfortable using the term “us Caucasians”.

And why is that? For decades we have had Garvey’s UNIA and the NAACP, LULAC, NCLR, MEChA, Black Panthers, Nation of Islam, Chinese for Affirmataive Action, etc., yet you do not denounce these groups. People are free to associate however they please, this is a free country, last time I checked.

No, you as an alleged “conservative,” will not denounce any other ethnic organization except when it applies to Caucasians. That is what makes you a racist.

Take a look on any college campus: every race and ethinicity is represented in a student group, except whites. There are racially segregated ethnic studies courses, racially segregated housing, and even racially segregated graduation ceremonies. You do not denounce this because it is not politically correct. You, as a “conservative” therefore support Jim Crow academics.

For you to deny Caucasians the right to organize and represent their own interests, like the National Review did in 1957 (and an unpenned editorial is not “anonymous” as you contend when the editor is Buckley himself) and call any social organization “racist” belies your own racist beliefs.

Nice try. Maybe Herbert Marcuse himself or Angela Davis is here post under the nom du guerre “rogue traveler.”

If memory serves, Buckley’s eloquence graced PBS back in the day of inception. Buckley gave public exposition to thought process as Bernstein did for Beethoven’s Symphony.

From those PBS shows I know him best. Thanks mm for reminding me. As The Race Card said, I also didn’t have to agree with him on every single issue, and at times found him to be quite primadonaish, but the intellect, and his power with words and ideas, always shone through. Great man, indeed.

My first exposure to conservatism was those great debates between Gore Vidal and WFB IN 68. It didn’t turn me into a conservative overnight, but it sure set me on the path. RIP Mr. Buckley, and thank you for setting me straight.

Mr. Buckley was often a bit embarrassed of things he had written when he was a young man. Usually because he felt his style was not as evolved as his later works. It is too bad that ignorant racists feel that the title “conservative” means “ignorant racist”. It is doubly true when racist fools impute anonymous writings to Mr. Buckley although nothing that they attribute to him matches his prose in the slightest. He evolved with our nation as he helped reshape and redefine intellectual boundaries during his decades on this earth.

I don’t believe that a conservative website is the place for anyone who feels comfortable using the term “us Caucasians”. There are still plenty of places I’m sure you can find employment as a southern democrat doing reenactments of your dearly missed pre-civil war days.

You are awesome! You call me a “troll” in the same breath with which disavow name-calling; that’s swift.
