9 p.m. ET on MSNBC. Last chance for our gal, for realsies. The boss, cynic that she is, has already liveblogged it in Laphamesque fashion. In the unlikely event that either party veers from the script — we’re in a cooldown stage, after all — we’ll have video here later. If you’re looking for schadenfreude, enjoy Clinton crony Leon Panetta taking a ceremonial dump on ace Hillary pollster Mark Penn. If it’s Messiah reading you want, take your pick: Newsweek offering him as the first woman president or the Wash Times suggesting that the Pentagon’s wringing its hands at the thought of a true blue lefty C-in-C (”A senior Pentagon official said an Obama swearing-in ‘will give the Arab street the final victory, the best optics, and the ultimate in bragging rights. They win. We lose.’”) We know from the left’s incessant pounding of the chickenhawk meme that only the military really knows what it’s talking about in matters of war, so weigh that accordingly.
I believe. I still believe.
Update: “One member said the only way he wouldn’t vote for Clinton is if he died.”

what did he reject? I missed it? The equinox?
nemo239 on February 26, 2008 at 10:16 PM
Can’t think of a debate where he hasn’t. Good news indeed.
darii on February 26, 2008 at 10:16 PM
Their support can’t be any worse then el Busho (luv that tough support we gave during the war with Hezbollah…yeah…real support el Busho).
TOPV on February 26, 2008 at 10:16 PM
I think she’s doing minimally the job she needs to do. Cast JUST enough doubt about him. I won’t be surprised if she wins Ohio and Texas because of this, especially with the public funding flim-flam from Obama.
SouthernGent on February 26, 2008 at 10:17 PM
Hope. “I’m hoping this gets better.”
Change. “If it doesn’t I’m gonna change the channel.”
Oldnuke on February 26, 2008 at 10:17 PM
Well, after two periods (hockey analogy), I’d say Hillary is winning this one. Not so much that Hillary is winning as much as Barak has been wilting a bit under some of the tough questions.
Over30 on February 26, 2008 at 10:18 PM
@ TOPV on February 26, 2008 at 10:16 PM
We were already in a war with Iraq in order to protect Israel, I mean how much is enough for you pro Israel guys?
muyoso on February 26, 2008 at 10:18 PM
Since when do Obamaniacs pay attention to things like that?
jbohanon on February 26, 2008 at 10:18 PM
ROFL
darii on February 26, 2008 at 10:18 PM
I will say this: today was the first day that Barack Obama got a serious question. Kudos to Tim.
carbon_footprint on February 26, 2008 at 10:18 PM
Obama: If ‘reject’ is stronger than ‘denounce’, then I rejactr and denounce.
Agree with his positions or not, the guy is 2X better with the mouth than HRC!
She’s at her best tonight. But BO’s got her beat twice over.
And I was hoping tonight for a Hillary upset.
petefrt on February 26, 2008 at 10:18 PM
Looks pretty good to me. She’s the one losing. Guess it’s in the eyes of the beholder.
TOPV on February 26, 2008 at 10:19 PM
What?
IF we were a tool of Israel, we’d be in Iran, not Iraq.
Spirit of 1776 on February 26, 2008 at 10:19 PM
And he handled none of them well.

Love the ad for Avis with the Hummer during the Demorats blowhard contest
National Journal? That mainstream publication….

They love the Jews… until they fight back.
Then it’s concessions time.
Time for reason to prevail.
Truce-talks-at-all costs time.

Oh my! Did he say “Illegal immigrant”?
Racist.
Oldnuke on February 26, 2008 at 10:20 PM
Agreed.
carbon_footprint on February 26, 2008 at 10:20 PM
Why does everyone assume the next president will get two terms? With McCain’s age, the upcoming recession, the fact the Jihadists will test either Dem in office, I rerally think the next one is likely to only get one term.
michaelo on February 26, 2008 at 10:20 PM
Let’s leave the Bush-bashing to Hill and Barry, OK?
Bush isn’t in the debate, nor is he running for office.
fogw on February 26, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Wow! Obama can spin. He must be wearing his wingtips tonight.
Over30 on February 26, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Mr. O is rejecting his liberalism.
nemo239 on February 26, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Obama talks about himself in the Third Person.
Sign of latent fugue state?
profitsbeard on February 26, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Hey! Old School baseball fan I assume.
Spirit of 1776 on February 26, 2008 at 10:21 PM
I totally agree.
flyboy777 on February 26, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Hillary meant not just renounce his words, but reject his support. Obama got away with doing that by making semantic hyuk hyuk. Audience ate it up.
Tuning Spork on February 26, 2008 at 10:21 PM
I don’t think so Barrack; he needs to get the latest LA Times poll.
carbon_footprint on February 26, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Hillary calls him Poo Tin. Lovely.
Mibrilane on February 26, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Good lord. Obama goes on about who the American people think makes sense. Well, I’d like him to explain this poll.
darii on February 26, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Will Obama call Putin Pootin-stan?
profitsbeard on February 26, 2008 at 10:23 PM
Being conservative I can’t really determine who’s winning this debate. I just know that if either of these two win the general “We” will all be the losers.
Oldnuke on February 26, 2008 at 10:23 PM
Channeling Bob Dole?
darii on February 26, 2008 at 10:23 PM
“Medevevedev, whatever.”
Awesome!

Stacy Adams? Florsheim? Dockers? Some imported Italian loafers?
SouthernGent on February 26, 2008 at 10:24 PM
Wouldn’t it be just a laugh if Hillary, in a chance to think to shine, just gave away State and Military secrets toward Russia and other enemies, and didn’t even know it?
Oh, slap my knee…. har de har har.
Do you think Putin and others are watching this?
Seven Percent Solution on February 26, 2008 at 10:24 PM
Let’s bash Bush some more!
carbon_footprint on February 26, 2008 at 10:24 PM
Sweet, Obama wants a new cold war.
Spirit of 1776 on February 26, 2008 at 10:24 PM
This is like a high school history test.
Hillary, what can you tell me about Putin’s replacement?
Well, he is going to be a replacement, for Putin, in Russia, who will replace the leader and it he will take the spot when Putin leaves the Presidency, his name is something like Mevevddev, whatever.
Good Lord…whatever!
LMAO
Bidness Barry? Massatoosits, bidness, Pokeestan?
benrand on February 26, 2008 at 10:24 PM
darii-
Did Dole do that, too?
Pootin talks of everyone in the Past tense.
profitsbeard on February 26, 2008 at 10:24 PM
Send him a strongly worded letter.
muyoso on February 26, 2008 at 10:25 PM
Geez, Obama doesn’t know crap…of course Hillary was correct about Putin, I don’t like either but geez at least she knows who’s who.
JustTruth101 on February 26, 2008 at 10:25 PM
Cute. Mister Potato-head tried to sandbag Shrillery by asking the name of Putin’s successor-to-be. She really is getting the Republican treatment.
Then he gave the correct answer before turning to Obamessiah. I would have been interested to see if BHO knew the correct answer.
bofh on February 26, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Obama wins Miss Teen-Age America!
profitsbeard on February 26, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Was Obama actually advocating invading Russia to prevent Putin’s consolidation of power? Because otherwise, I can’t see how Putin would give a damn what we thought.
Mark V. on February 26, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Don’t take the bait, Hillary!
SouthernGent on February 26, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Cool, NATO is killing us in Afghanistan but they will be there to deal with Russia over Kosovo. Sweet, cause that worked 10 years ago.
Oh and Obama just promised Kosovo’s independence with a US security guarantee.
Awesome!
Drew on February 26, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Oh, no! She took the bait! She’s trying to bring it back.
SouthernGent on February 26, 2008 at 10:26 PM

Yep, Spirit of 1776. I’d vote for Hillary if she brought the Dodgers back to Brooklyn. Who am I kidding. I still couldn’t vote for her but wold love to have Da Bums back…

Not so funny ….. she’s running for CIC !!

Hillary warned about a pre-emptive war? OMG. She’s a sociopath…. and a socialist, must be an alliterative affliction.

double aaannnd!! two shots debate wrap up
nemo239 on February 26, 2008 at 10:29 PM
Obama obfuscating and stalling for time about any mistakes he’s made.
Doesn’t want to admit anything he has done was ever wrong.
profitsbeard on February 26, 2008 at 10:29 PM
And now Obama is giving her a pat on the head as he sends her off to her grave.
Drew on February 26, 2008 at 10:29 PM
“Any statements or votes you’d like to take back?”
Obama: I regret not stopping something I didn’t like. I have never made any mistakes as far as what I have done, rather my only mistakes are those things that I haven’t done.
darii on February 26, 2008 at 10:29 PM
It’s only been 20 debates???
Branch Rickey on February 26, 2008 at 10:29 PM
Obama is taking Hillary’s lines from last week. PLAGIARIST!
SouthernGent on February 26, 2008 at 10:29 PM
Darfur, China, that’s more, er, the UN’s fault, right?
funky chicken on February 26, 2008 at 10:30 PM
Wow, he just pulled off an “uhand”.
Very good Mr. Perfesser!
“They just want a hand out.”
Holy moley.
benrand on February 26, 2008 at 10:30 PM
“They’re not looking for government to solve all their problems.”
Well… then why are you looking for government to solve all of their problems.
Mark V. on February 26, 2008 at 10:30 PM
Can anyone explain to me exactly what was wrong with going into Iraq?
We have been kept safe enough to forget about the real danger we’re in.
If it weren’t for our “preemptive war” neither of these two would have a chance in hell.
Thank your lucky stars, Hillary.
Dorvillian on February 26, 2008 at 10:30 PM
Words to take back……. hmmmmmmmm, for Senator Clinton, how about “I don’t recall…..” over 200 times in legal depositions during the Clinton Presidency…….
For “BO”…….. how about “Sure Oprah, you can share my shower…. AAAGGGGHHHHHHH!”
Did he just bring up Terri Schiavo?!?! Did he? I was joking and all, but he just did not bring up Terri Schiavo and said what Congress tried to do was a mistake? He just said that right?
Seven Percent Solution on February 26, 2008 at 10:30 PM
“Americans don’t want government to solve all their problems, they ONLY want x, y, z, and the kitchen sink.”
My God, Obama, you seem to be trying to sell yourself as a universal panecia to American’s ailments.
darii on February 26, 2008 at 10:31 PM
Obama waiting for the applause that never came…lol.
SouthernGent on February 26, 2008 at 10:31 PM
Obama calls Hillary and McCain both failures.
Let’s see how she responds.
profitsbeard on February 26, 2008 at 10:31 PM
Yeah, he’s a deer in headlights without the applause
nemo239 on February 26, 2008 at 10:32 PM
Yes, but I’m still confused about what he was saying his stance was/is. Was he for killing her or not?
SouthernGent on February 26, 2008 at 10:32 PM
haha
I guess you get kind of used to it when people break out in applause when you blow your nose.

As Fonzi would say, “Exactamundo”.

benrand on February 26, 2008 at 10:32 PM
Final Stalinist question “what vote would you like to take back?”. Here’s the pistol, we media overlords will allow you the courtesy of shooting yourself in the head, unless, of course, you’d rather face the firing squad. Then Barry will apologize for once being late returning a library book.
In other words: “Hillary, will you once again now stand up and apologize for voting for the AUMF and prove that you’ve now got your head right?”
But of course, we’re the objective, professional media.
bofh on February 26, 2008 at 10:32 PM
Um, did Putin really step down? I would recommend answering it that way if you don’t know much about his hand-picked successor.
Or just say I think he’s hand picked by Putin so I don’t expect him to be much different, but I can’t predict the future.
funky chicken on February 26, 2008 at 10:32 PM
Obama:
“I am great. Thank you. Oh, and you’re not. Thank you again.”

Hanging curve ball…will she hit out of the park? Do NOT stroke his ego, Hillary, if you want to win!
SouthernGent on February 26, 2008 at 10:33 PM
He was saying he should have stood up against the intervention. Of course, he is not pro-life.
carbon_footprint on February 26, 2008 at 10:33 PM
Oh, hell yes, they would, they’d just demand to know, “Hey, why haven’t we invaded Iraq yet?”
Mark V. on February 26, 2008 at 10:33 PM
Ah, the mysterious applause out of nowhere.
Thanks MSNBC producers! Did you guys just wake up and hit the APPLAUSE button?
