Open thread: The “Get Bambi!” debate

9 p.m. ET on MSNBC. Last chance for our gal, for realsies. The boss, cynic that she is, has already liveblogged it in Laphamesque fashion. In the unlikely event that either party veers from the script — we’re in a cooldown stage, after all — we’ll have video here later. If you’re looking for schadenfreude, enjoy Clinton crony Leon Panetta taking a ceremonial dump on ace Hillary pollster Mark Penn. If it’s Messiah reading you want, take your pick: Newsweek offering him as the first woman president or the Wash Times suggesting that the Pentagon’s wringing its hands at the thought of a true blue lefty C-in-C (“A senior Pentagon official said an Obama swearing-in ‘will give the Arab street the final victory, the best optics, and the ultimate in bragging rights. They win. We lose.’”) We know from the left’s incessant pounding of the chickenhawk meme that only the military really knows what it’s talking about in matters of war, so weigh that accordingly.

I believe. I still believe.

Update: “One member said the only way he wouldn’t vote for Clinton is if he died.”

Good Lord.

Hillary just doesn’t understand economics.
Oh well, neither do most democrats.

VolMagic on February 26, 2008 at 9:21 PM

Obamessiah keeps trying to interject a word, and Shrillery keeps talking right over him. You go girl! He can’t score if he can’t talk. Anyone keeping running time-of-possession for both teams? Keep the ball on the ground and keep pounding away to ultimately set up the long bomb. Jeez… football season’s only been over for a few weeks and I’m getting crazy already.

Oh, and the brown blazer? Isn’t that identical to the infamous bumble-bee, just in a different color?

And, it’s not like IL or Chicago are red.

You know what has devestating costs Obama? Protectionism. Trying to keep America in a 1950’s economy. That has devastating costs. Yeesh.

New “Drinking Game” people:

1. Get your favorite beverage of choice…. (preferably with some alcohol in it to ease the pain of this).

2. Here we go….. Everytime either Mrs. Mao Pant Suit or “BHO” (or “BO” if we can’t use the “H” word anymore) talk with their hands in sync (with each other) as they try to talk over each other, making the same point, while trying to sound different……….. take a swig.

Let’s see how many of us start drinking just to endure this…… Good Luck, and the winner, well the winner gets the pleasure of possibly forgeting this evening….

Entire cities devastated, buildings just fell over, I mean that thing got passed and buildings actually fell over. It was horrible.

If we could just import cheap labor instead of moving the factories everything would be solved, no, wait. Maybe if we kill the unions, no, wait.

muyoso on February 26, 2008 at 9:26 PM

Hey Hillary, if you renegotiate NAFTA, do you still plan on ridiculously calling it the North American Free Trade Agreement?

It would be pretty stupid to say “we will opt out of it unless we renegotiate it”? Renegotiating it is opting out of it, at least the way she plans on renegotiating it.

“I am a delegate, I’m a supporter of Hillary, I’m supporting who I’m supporting,” said Rep. Diane Watson (D-Calif.), even though 62 percent of the Democratic voters in her district backed Obama.

Such devotion worries some party officials who say record turnout and excitement over Democratic candidates could fizzle if voters feel their voices do not count.

What do ya mean if? Democrats should already know the answer to that, of course they don’t count, if the DNC wanted the peon votes to count, there would be no super delegates.
Welcome to the Democrat National Commie party.

All right, I’m just gonna come right and say it, I don’t care how callous it sounds. If you haven’t gone to school to learn some kind of skill, in light of the trend of over half a century, you deserve to be out of a job.

I know, I know, nobody deserves to be out of a job.

benrand on February 26, 2008 at 9:34 PM

Not only has there been no net loss of jobs during the Bush administration, there has been a net gain, even with the devastation of 9/11. At least 2.4 million jobs have been created since the president took office, 2 million of those in 2003. The gains more than offset the losses.

Consummate orators able to sway the masses with flowery words with no substance. History is full of such people.
