Cornyn and Hutchinson got the ‘ear-full’ e-mail, for all the good it will do. I expect the ‘thanks for contacting me’ response from Cornyn in about a week, and Hutchinson in about 8 months. Neither will mention a damn thing about the actual subject of the e-mail. Rah-rah, conservatives march on, zip-boom-bah(humbug).

Send DeMint to Texas. We could use some street-cred here. Senate, Governor, House, whatever chair he wants is his for the asking.

The Republicans, other than a few lonely voices like Tom Kasich, gave us prodigious amounts of bacon, ham, scrapple, etc. during their 12 years in control of the House. The Dems gave us plenty before that, and are resuming their old ways. I would love to see DeMint succeed, but the likelihood of a Kosher spending bill coming out of Congress, no matter who’s in charge, still seems about about the same as that of pigs flying.

Old bull Senate appropriators have been hoping this issue would not surface. They tried to make it go away by creating some lame-o “commission” to study the problems with pork-barrel spending.

Thankfully this canard has not satisfied DeMint. Make the old bulls take the tough vote so everyone can see where the stand as plain as day.
