John and Elizabeth Edwards have thrown their support behind a new $20 million election-year campaign to press for a withdrawal from Iraq and tie the war to the faltering economy.

The Edwardses joined a conference call on Monday to discuss their efforts with the group, which includes MoveOn.org, the Service Employees International Union, VoteVets.org, and the Center for American Progress. John Edwards drew extensively from his time on the campaign trail, and spoke kindly of his former opponents who remain in the race. He claimed repeatedly that the American people will have a “very clear choice in the fall” between John McCain and the “Democratic president who will end this war.”

Did she put the decimal point in the wrong spot in her mind?

Someone should remind her how much better she’d look in a burka, and she could use her socialized healthcare to recover from the 300 lashes the court issues her as punishment for letting herself get raped, but she’ll need a male relative to drive her to the hospital, of course…..

If McCain becomes President the amount of Muslims he will allow immigrate into the US will be reminder enough.

Your baby doesn’t have Constitutional right to health care, Ms Forrest, but you do have a parental right to provide it. You have a Constitutional right to express whatever misguided opinions you have, but those in uniform have a sworn obligation to protect that right, with their lives, if needed. Maybe you forgot that during your transition briefing. Or maybe you were just in for the money and the benefits…

I’d like to think that we’re providing more than just a self-serving, mercenary force.

You guys should change your mantra to “We Support the Troops That Agree With Us”.

As McCain has explained numerous times now, the “100 years” comment isn’t a call for another century of hot war; it’s a projection of a token presence in a stable country along the lines of our “occupation” of Okinawa, one that certainly wouldn’t require the trillions of dollars being disingenuously tossed around here.

So, 100 years of token presence plus however many years (decades, more likely) that it takes until our presence there can by any reasonable measure be considered “token.” It’s not the 100 years that is so worrisome — it’s about as objectionable as our presence in Germany or Japan (significantly, yet not catastrophically so) — it’s about what it will take from us in terms of lives, money, freedoms, moral authority to get us to the start of that “token” presence.

Let me know when the left makes its stand about getting U.S. troops out of Germany and I’ll start caring about nonsense like this.

The left hasn’t, but the small-government right (Hot Air commenters should read: “Paultards”) certainly has — and they’re the other people who object to this “100/1000/million years” rhetoric. Of course, this ad isn’t targeted at them — this is trying to sell people on turning global warfare into domestic welfare… bleh. Iraq and Ms. Forrest’s son can each fend for themselves. I certainly don’t want to spend a dime of my own money on either.

Stenwin77 is vested in a Mav defeat. He’s been telling us for months how Mav can’t win and will get destroyed. Now his credibility(not as if he had any) is on the line as a political prognosticater. He’s very similar to how the dems are vested in defeat and would like nothing more than to see our troops beaten back in the WOT. Embarassing for sure, but when your proven wrong, most people go away. They don’t keep turning up the rhetoric. Keep it up Mav, send the dems home crying, and silence the poopooer in Stenwin77.

Wow, did I miss the election? McCain hasn’t even won the primary yet. Take your meds, we’re a long way from November. If you think it’s going to be a cakewalk to the whitehouse, you are mistaken.

I want Mccain to make some effort towards the Conservatives, which he has NOT done yet. Not everyone who disagrees with you is a Democrat. I am NOT a Democrat.

Unless John McCain is the father of that baby why EXACTLY is it HIS responsibility to provide him health care?

Those are the very people who are going to belive this sort of ad, many of them vote for Dems.

Seriously, there comes a point where cursory examination of facts combined with generally apathy starts to hurt. Stupid people have a tough time of things in life…and if stupid people are voting based on some sound bite ideology, it’s going to be tough on all Americans.
